from Egypt was meant to be the final and ultimate redemption, we would have been
driven to seize the moment and ensure that its full potential would indeed be
realized. Building in the Dark Nevertheless, G-d prevented Jacob from disclosing this to his children. The
“end of days” was to remain a mystery, regardless of how its revelation
might encourage our efforts to perfect the world and prepare it for redemption.
For in order for man to truly participate in the perfection of creation, it is
crucial that the time frame for the advent of the messianic era be unknown to
him. As we have said, the final redemption is a divine act, unequivocal and
eternal; so if man is to play a meaningful role in bringing it about, it is

divine will, every moment of their lives.” If Jacob desired that we know the
secret of the “end of days,” it is a desire that is utterly consistent with
the divine will. G-d wants that we should want to know, and that we should
indeed know, so that we should be driven by this desire and knowledge. At the
same time, He does not allow us
to expressly know, so that our deeds should be true and unconditional--not
contingent upon such “inside information.” So we live our lives in the dark, bereft of any conscious sense of our place
in history. Seconds before the outbreak of dawn, we perceive only the blackest
of nights. But this is only the surface of our lives--the level on which we act
to bring redemption to the world. Underlying this surface is a knowing soul--a
soul attuned to the supernal timetable, a soul sensitive to the moments most
opportune for redemption and empowered to reveal this knowledge and potential.

Acharon Shel Pesach, the last day of Pesach, has a special connection to the coming of Moshiach and is celebrated accordingly, by partaking of Moshiach's seudah.
The last day of Pesach is celebrated by eating a special, festive banquet called Moshiach's seudah, a custom initiated by the Baal Shem Tov. The connection between the last day of Pesach and Moshiach is explained by the Tzemach Tzedek: "The last day of Pesach is the conclusion of that which began on the first night of Pesach. The first night of Pesach is our festival commemorating our redemption from Egypt by the Holy One, Blessed be He. It was the first redemption, carried out through Moshe Rabbeinu, who was the first redeemer; it was the beginning. The last day of Pesach is our festival commemorating the final redemption, when the Holy One, Blessed be He, will redeem us from the last exile through our righteous Moshiach, who is the final redeemer. The first day of Pesach is Moshe Rabbeinu's festival; the last day of Pesach is Moshiach's festival."
Pesach is the festival which celebrates freedom. The first day celebrates the redemption from the first exile; the last day celebrates the future redemption from the final exile. The two are intimately connected, the beginning and end of one process, with G-d in the future redemption showing wonders "as in the days of your exodus from Egypt."
The concept of "gatherer of all the camps" - restoring lost property and making sure that nothing is missing - may be applied to various situations. The Baal Shem Tov, for example, taught that just as the Jews in the desert made forty-two journeys before they reached their final destination, Eretz Yisroel, so there are forty-two journeys in each Jew's individual life. The birth of a person corresponds to the initial journey when the Jews left the land of Egypt, and at each stage of life a Jew is somewhere in the middle of one of the forty-two journeys he must experience before he enters the next world.
Not only a person's entire life, but also every individual service to G-d has various stages or "journeys." In particular, the conclusion of a specific service acts as the "gatherer of all the camps" - to make sure that nothing is missing from that service. Pesach, it was noted earlier, is associated with the concept of redemption, and our service on Pesach is correspondingly directed towards hastening the arrival of the final redemption. But even if service on Pesach was deficient, if opportunities were missed, not all is lost: the last day of Pesach acts as "gatherer of all the camps" for the entire festival. Just as the tribe of Don restored lost articles to their owners, so the last day of Pesach provides a Jew with the opportunity to rectify omissions in the service of Pesach, and thereby regain what is rightfully his.
Because Pesach is associated with the redemption through Moshiach and the last day of Pesach is the finish to and completion of Pesach, the last day of Pesach accordingly emphasizes the coming of Moshiach.

15. The statutory punishment for transgressing any one of the Seven Laws of Noah is capital punishment.  According to some, punishment is the same whether one transgresses with knowledge of the law or is ignorant of the law.  According to others, a transgressor of the Noahide Law who is ignorant of the law receives the death penalty only in the case of murder.

Different God, other Laws not God's Laws
Indeed, the philosopher - legalist, Maimonides totally supports Shimon and Levi. Maimonides explains that while Moses was commanded to teach the 613commandments only to Israel, he was similarly commanded to enforce the seven Noahide laws of morality - especially "thou shalt not murder"- upon every Gentile; "And whoever does not accept them, must be killed" (Laws of Kings 8,10).
While the Christians do generally accept the Hebrew Bible as truly from God, many of them (those who accept the so-called divinity of Jesus) are idolaters according to the Torah, punishable by death, and certainly will not enjoy the World to Come. But it is not just being a member of a denomination in which the majority are believers in the Trinity that is idolatry, but personal idolatrous practice, whatever the individual's affiliation.
And but of course the Satanic Talmudic Pontifex Maximus Roman Catholic worship of a satanic trinity would not constitute Idol Worship because that doctrine of demons fits right in with the worship of Judaisms strange gods. Some European rabbis (presumably because of fear of reprisal from their Christian neighbors, famous for their violence to Jews) have gone so far as to say that worshipping God in the form of a man constitutes idolatry for a Jew punishable by death, but the Trinitarian Christian worship of Jesus does not constitute idolatry. In truth, any idolatry for which a Jew is punishable by death is also punishable by death for non-Jews, including the worship of a man as a god.
The Rambam in the
Laws of the Murderer, (chapter 2, halacha 10) wrote: "a Jew who kills a
resident stranger cannot be killed by the court and it is needless to say that
he is not killed for
killing the goy."
The Minchat Chinuch in commandment 32, Do Not Murder, wrote: "the one who kills even a resident stranger who accepted the Noahide laws would not be put to death ... since we donot accept resident strangers now ... he is considered like any goy. Even in the time of the Holy Temple we are not accustomed to accept to accept the resident stranger."
In the Laws of Kings in Rambam, (chapter 9, halacha 14): a goy that transgressed one of the seven Noahide laws will be put to death by the sword. For this reason, all the residents of Shechem were condemned to die. Schechem stole and the people saw, knew and did not judge him.
Whoever accepts upon himself the seven commandments and is careful to do them is considered one of the pious of the nations of the world, and he has a portion in the World to Come
The gentiles are listed in three categories. Category one is the highest and closest to God: This applies only when one makes a formal commitment in the presence of a Torah Court to accept the Noahide commandments and fulfill them because the Holy One, blessed be He, commanded them in the Torah and informed us through Moses, our teacher. This person is now considered a resident alien, and has his share in the World to Come. Category two is, in a way, good on the human level of existence, but falls short in the eternal existence. If one fulfills these seven commandments out of intellectual conviction, without acknowledging them as Divine commands, he is not a resident alien, nor of the pious among the Gentiles. Category three is one who observes other religions and has no regard for the laws or God of Israel.

Introducing- …the Jewntile!
To those of you who believe that any given person in this world falls either in the status of a Jew - who has to keep all of Torah and mitzvot, or a Gentile that only has to keep seven; to all of you who thought that no Goy is allowed to keep Shabbos/Shabbat (as the Talmud clearly states…), we have big news: We are proud to present the "Jewntile"- Not Jewish, but definitely not a regular goy.
He (or she) is called a "ger toshav" ("a resident convert"). He is welcome to live in Eretz Israel amongst the Jews, and has rights other goyim don't, such as being supported by the Jewish community. [He's the first one to get –for free- the non-kosher meat that a Jew would possess (e.g. in case of shechita that didn't go right)].
What does one have to do in order to become a ger toshav?
He simply has to keep the seven laws of Noah.
Every goy definitely is, and if he is living under our control we have to ensure that he does. Yet, as the Rambam explains, the Ger Toshav is a person that actively accepted upon himself in front of a Jewish Bet Din to fulfill these Mitzvot, in a way that's similar to conversion. [According to some opinions he undergoes Brit milah as well.] As opposed to a regular goy that adheres to the 7 Noahide laws out of his or her own rational understanding, feeling that that's the "humane thing to do", and has not committed him/herself to keep these laws on a definite basis, the "Jewntile" consciously accepts that Hashem, our God, commanded him to keep them (through Moshe) and for that basic reason, he/she is fully committed to fulfilling them.
Moreover, if he is interested in keeping more than the basic seven laws, he can commit himself to more Mitzvot at the time of his "conversion", and can even accept upon himself Shmirat Shabbat- something that a regular goy is forbidden to do. A "Ger Toshav" can come to Bet din and decide upon any number of Mitzvot from the minimum seven up to a maximum of 612, and from that point on is obliged to keep them. A "Jewntile" cannot accept all 613 Mitzvot- because if he did, he'd simply be a… Jew!
He or she will have to wait until Mashiach comes, because at the moment we do not accept any Ger Toshav, Sorry…!

Maimonides then goes one step further, as he defines each of the seven Noahide laws: "And how are the Gentiles commanded to establish law courts? They are required to establish judges and executors in every area of habitation to rule in accordance with the enforcement of the other six commands, to warn the citizenry concerning these laws and to punish any transgressor with death by the sword. And then Maimonides concludes: "And it is on this basis that all the people of Shekhem were guilty of death (at the hands of Shimon and Levi, sons of Jacob): because Shekhem (their Prince) stole (and raped) Dinah, which they saw and knew about, but did not bring him to justice…" (Maimonides. Laws of Kings, 9, 14).

Maimonides is teaching that unless humanity accepts fundamental morality – Thou shalt not rape, Thou shalt not murder- a free humanity will not endure. The Torah of the seven Noahide laws must be accepted by everyone; those who do not, and have the capability to destroy, are automatically in the category of "those who come to murder innocent people, must be killed before they can wreak their havoc."

The prohibition also applies to bribing a non-Jewish judge of the secular courts. The reason for this is that the Gentiles are commanded to set up a judicial system. This is one of the seven Noahide laws that the Torah requires all Gentiles to observe.
The gentile drift away from Christianity goes on in the Noahide movement in the United State. In Athens, Tennessee J. David Davis, a Baptist minister, determined that Jesus was not the savior and that to worship under the cross was idolatry. Davis's congregation cut off the steeple of their church and adopted the seven Noahide laws of the Torah. Their mentor is Rabbi Israel Chait of Far Rockaway, New York. Now there are about 10,000 in the growing Noahide movement.

Probably no other phrase from the Torah has been more mistakenly understood as the term am segulah, which has over time been incorrectly translated as “the chosen people.” These two words have caused more problems for Jews than almost any other label.
The Jewish people were not singled out because of any inherent virtue. The Torah makes no attempt to hide our transgressions and failures throughout the ages. They are the reasons why we were driven from the land of Israel and lost our holy Temple, not once, but twice.
What we are ‘chosen’ for is the obligation to fulfill the Torah as promised at Mt. Sinai.
Maimonides said that prior to the giving of the Torah, all human beings were bound by the seven Noahide laws: do not deny G-d, do not blaspheme G-d, do not murder, do not engage in adultery and other sexual abominations, do not steal, do not eat the limb from a living animal, and establish courts.
From the moment of the Revelation on Mount Sinai, the Jews committed to accept the additional 606 laws that make up our body of commandments.

WHEREAS these ethical values and principles have been the bedrock of society from the dawn of civilization, when they are known as the Seven Noahide Laws;
WHEREAS without these ethical values and principle the edifice of civilization stands in serious peril of returning to chaos;
WHEREAS society is profoundly concerned with the recent weakening of these principles that have resulted in crises that beleaguer and threaten the fabric of civilized society;
WHEREAS the justified preoccupation with these crises must not let the citizens of this Nation lose sight of their responsibility to transmit these historical ethical values from our distinguished part tot he generations of the future;
WHEREAS the Lubavitch movement has fostered and promoted these ethical values and principles throughout the world;
WHEREAS Rabbi Menachem Schneerson, leader of the Lubavitch movement is universally respected and revered and his eighty-ninth birthday falls on March 26, 1991;
WHEREAS in tribute to this great spiritual leader, “the rebbe,” this, his ninetieth year, will be seen as one of “education and giving,” the year in which we turn to education and charity. To return the world to the moral and ethical values contained in the Seven Noahide Laws; and

“The Seven Noahide Laws are mentioned twice in Public Law 102-14, but are not spelled out. They seem difficult to find in English translation. We were not able to find them. A Christian pastor and subscriber informs us that they appear in a book written by one Rabbi Marvin Antelman, but we haven’t been able to locate the book. However, they can be seen in the Institute of Judaic-Christian Researcher, January, 1990, in the following form:
(1 ) Thou shalt not engage in idol worship; (2) Thou shalt not blaspheme God; (3) Thou shalt not shed innocent blood of a human or fetus nor ailing person who has a limited time to live; (4) Thou shalt not engage in bestial, incestuous, adulterous or homosexual relations nor commit the act of rape; (5) Thou shalt not steal; (6) Thou shalt establish laws and courts of law to administer these laws, including the death penalty for those who kill, administered only if there is one testifying witness; (7) Thou shalt not be cruel to animals.

In the Bible there is a reference to the Noahic Covenant and the rainbow and its symbol and promise, but there is no mention of any Seven Noahide Laws. These come not from the Bible, but from the Babylonian Talmud. (The Torah is defined by Webster as “the whole body of Jewish religious literature including the Scriptures, the Talmud, etc.) Since these laws apply to all mankind, it is said in Noahidic literature that “The Seven Noahide Laws may now receive a recognition as a source of international law. By stating that the ‘ethical principles’ which have been ‘the bedrock of society from the dawn of civilization’ are the Seven Noahide Laws,” Public Law 102-14, provides national recognition to both a theoretical foundation and the justification for general principles of law as sources of international law rules.
This theoretical foundation anticipates further international recognition by its incorporation in an ‘international scroll of honor signed by the President of the United States and other heads of state,’ and essaying to ‘return to the world’ the Seven Noahide Laws for ‘international law.’ Here we see the real reason for passage of Public Law 102- 14. It is a step towards establishment of a law code for a one world government.....” End of comment Referring to the Seven Noahide Laws, Gordon Ginn, Phd., comments: “A superficial reading of these ‘laws’ may elicit a favorable response from those who have not done their homework. But the crux of the matter is how they are interpreted. FOR EXAMPLE, IF ORTHODOX JEWS INTERPRET THEM, EVERY CHRISTIAN WOULD BE GUILTY OF VIOLATING NUMBER ONE (THOU SHALT NOT ENGAGE IN IDOL WORSHIP) BECAUSE NO CROSS, CRUCIFIX, IMAGE, PHOTOGRAPH, OR ANYTHING THAT COULD BE CONSTRUED AS AN ICON WOULD BE ALLOWED. CHRISTIANS WOULD BE GUILTY OF VIOLATING NUMBER TWO (THOU SHALT NOT BLASPHEME GOD) BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THAT JESUS CHRIST WAS GOD IN THE FLESH, AND THAT IS BLASPHEMY TO THE JEWS. [Editorial note: How about number 7: That it is a violation of the Seven Noahide Laws to eat the flesh of animals? “Whoever is behind the ‘Seven Noahide Laws’ is not wasting any time nailing down their dastardly plans On the day (March 2Oth) that George Bush signed the resolution into law, the Wall Street Journal carried a front page story about the Noahides. And now that we are saddled with this “law,” the Noahides are exploring the feasibility of taking it worldwide through the United Nations. It seems to me that this fits right in with Bush’s New World Order.” End of Ginn quote.

The bottom line is this: It’s unconstitutional to display the 10 Commandments anywhere in public now. Crosses placed at the side of the road by people who have lost a loved one are now under attack because some people are offended by seeing a cross. But Congress can vote into law the requirement that Americans adopt the Jewish religion and that these Seven Noahide Laws will now somehow constitute international law? Isn’t this unconstitutional?
Give me a break. Only a fool can’t see what’s going on here. And why would Congress even consider such action in favor of one religion over another, say a resolution to support Muslims? Perhaps this might shed some light on that question:
In AN ESSAY REPRINTED IN THE MAY 27, 1996 ISSUE OF THE NEW YORK TIMES, Ari Shavit, an Israeli columnist, reflected somewhat sorrowfully on the wanton Israeli killing of more than 100 Lebanese civilians in April.
“We killed them out of a certain naive nubris. Believing with absolute certitude THAT NOW WITH THE WHITE HOUSE, THE SENATE AND MUCH OF THE AMERICAN MEDIA IN OUR HANDS, THE LIVES OF OTHERS DO NOT COUNT SO MUCH AS OUR OWN.”
This is a shocking statement in more ways than one. First of all, what does Mr. Shavit means when he says the Jews have the White House, the Senate and much of the American media “in our hands?” [Reader Insert: No mystery here ; Dr. Fields,editor of THE TRUTH AT LAST newspaper in Marietta,Georgia had an article several years back showing that Klinton was surrounded by a 75% jew Kabinet!]
And second, what does that have anything to do with the “wanton killing of more than 100 Lebanese civilians?” What does the wanton killing of more than 100 human beings have to do with Jews having the White House, the Senate and much of the American media “in our hands?” How does this equate to other people’s lives not being as important as Jewish lives? These statements are very serious and should make all Americans, including those of the Jewish faith,[”faith”?] ponder the implications of such words. If you are an American citizen, your first allegiance should be to America, not Israel or Germany or Canada.
Getting back to a Public Law passed by Congress that America should adopt Jewish laws as the bedrock of our society, our great nation was not founded on the Seven Noahide Laws or the Jewish religion. It was not founded on the Catholic Church or the Baptist faith or Buddhism. It was founded on Christianity and the teachings of Jesus Christ, not a specific religion or church. I am one of the most religiously tolerant people I know. I have read the religious doctrines of more than 30 world religions. I disagree with many of the precepts of these religions, i.e. that I am the SPAWN OF THE DEVIL AS PREACHED IN THE ISLAMIC RELIGION BECAUSE I WAS BORN “WHITE.” But, as long as someone doesn’t try to force their religion on me, as I would not do unto them, let us live in peace and harmony together. And, let us hope that Public Law 102-14 gets challenged in court and is struck down because it is grossly unconstitutional to establish any religion as the religion of the United Stats, never mind the rest of the world.

The Noahide Laws
It is worth noting that the Noahide Laws will be administered by a restored Sanhedrin, the ruling body of the Jews which found Jesus Christ guilty of blasphemy on the accusations of two false witnesses. Under the Courts of Law section of the Noahide Laws is stated: "A person may be convicted in a Noahide court on the testimony of a single witness, but only if the witness is known to be righteous." [ Researcher Note: A study of the filthy Talmud will reveal that ALL “jews” are considered righteous !]
There is, at present, a worldwide movement with many points of entry (Lubavitcher Movement, Nazarene Movement, Hebraic Roots/Messianic Movement, Latter Rain/Roman Catholic Year of Jubilee) to bring all of mankind under the Old Testament Law. These trendy movements to adopt the customs and feasts of the Mosaic Covenant are effectively laying the groundwork to mobilize the Church for Jay Gary's call to "experience the Jubilee" Year in AD 2000 and be "reconciled to our spiritual roots." Jay Gary wrote in THE STAR OF 2000:
The annual calendar of Israel was built around three major festivals: Passover, Pentecost and Tabernacles... The Year of Jubilee encompassed these three festivals, only raised to a higher power ...Then, as well as today, Jesus calls us to experience His jubilee... It's time to blow the ancient trumpet. It's time to be reconciled to our spiritual roots. (pp.84-5)
This massive movement also seems to be leading toward the global establishment of the Noahide Laws (already U.S. law), for which disobedience the penalty is beheading (Rev. 20:4) THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF JUDAISM lists these seven universal laws and indicates their binding nature on all Gentiles:
Full-page ads in the New York Times and other newspapers have proclaimed: ‘All nations of the world: Fulfill the 7 universal Noahide Laws given to you in the Torah of Moses.’... One additional element of greater severity is that violation of any one of the seven laws subjects the Noahide to capital punishment by decapitation. (Sanh. 57A)
THE ENCYCLOPEDIA OF JUDAISM identifies the Babylonian Talmud (T.B.) as the source of "The Noachide Laws." According to Maimonides, acceptance -- on the basis of the Bible -- of the seven universal precepts means that any such righteous Gentile is numbered with 'the pious ones among the nations of the world...deserving a share in the world to come' (Tosef. Sanh 13.2)
(1) Civil justice [the duty to establish a legal system];
(2) Prohibition of blasphemy [which includes the bearing of false witness];
(3) The abandonment of idolatry;
(4) The prohibition of incest [including adultery and other sexual offenses];
(5) The prohibition of murder;
(6) Also that of theft;
(7) The law against eating flesh [a limb] cut from a living animal [ie., cruelty in any shape or form] (T.B. Sanh. 56A)
Hebrew scholar, Eliezer Segal, documents that the Babylonian Talmud (T.B.) is a commentary on the Mishnah composed by Babylonian Jewish sages (Ravs) from the early third to the sixth century. Although it is claimed by the Lubavitch, Nazarene and Hebraic Roots Movements that the source of the 7 Noahide Laws is the Torah (Genesis-Deuteronomy), the evidence of history proves that the Talmud and Mishnah are derived from Babylonian traditions that Jesus said contradicted and nullified the teaching of Scripture. Likewise, the "root" of the Hebrew Roots Movement is not the written Torah given to Moses, but rather the occult traditions adopted from the mystery religions of ancient Babylon.

Cabala NOAHIDE LUBAVICHER
also spelled Qabbalah, KABALA, KABBALAH, CABALA, CABBALA, OR CABBALAH (Hebrew: "Tradition"), esoteric Jewish mysticism as it appeared in the 12th and following centuries. Kabbala has always been essentially an oral tradition in that initiation into its doctrines and practices is conducted by a personal guide to avoid the dangers inherent in mystical experiences. Esoteric Kabbala is also "tradition" inasmuch as it lays claim to secret knowledge of the unwritten Torah (divine revelation) that was communicated by God to Moses and Adam. Though observance of the Law of Moses remained the basic tenet of Judaism, Kabbala provided a means of approaching God directly. It thus gave Judaism a religious dimension whose mystical approaches to God were viewed by some as dangerously pantheistic and heretical.
The earliest roots of Kabbala are traced to Merkava mysticism. It began to flourish in Palestine in the 1st century AD and had as its main concern ecstatic and mystical contemplation of the divine throne, or "chariot" (merkava), seen in a vision by Ezekiel, the prophet (Ezekiel 1). The earliest known Jewish text on magic and cosmology, Sefer Yetzira ("Book of Creation"), appeared sometime between the 3rd and the 6th century. It explained creation as a process involving the 10 divine numbers (sefirot; see sefira) of God the Creator and the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Taken together, they were said to constitute the "32 paths of secret wisdom."
A major text of early Kabbala was the 12th-century Sefer ha-bahir ("Book of Brightness"), whose influence on the development of Jewish esoteric mysticism and on Judaism in general was profound and lasting. The Bahir not only interpreted the sefirot as instrumental in creating and sustaining the universe but also introduced into Judaism such notions as the transmigration of souls (gilgul) and strengthened the foundations of Kabbala by providing it with an extensive mystical symbolism.
In the following century, the Sefer ha-temuna ("Book of the Image") appeared in Spain and advanced the notion of cosmic cycles, each of which provides an interpretation of the Torah according to a divine attribute. Judaism, consequently, was presented not as a religion of immutable truths but as one for which each cycle, or eon, was said to have a different Torah.
Spain also produced the famous Sefer ha-zohar ("Book of Splendour"), a book that in some circles was invested with a sanctity rivaling that of the Torah itself. It dealt with the mystery of creation and the functions of the sefirot, and it offered mystical speculations about evil, salvation, and the soul.
Following their expulsion from Spain in 1492, the Jews were more than ever taken up with messianic hopes and eschatology, and Kabbala found wide favour.
Lurianic Kabbala. By the mid-16th century the unchallenged centre of Kabbala was Safed, Galilee, where one of the greatest of all Kabbalists, Isaac ben Solomon Luria, spent the last years of his life. According to Gershom Gerhard Scholem, a modern Jewish scholar of Kabbala, Luria's influence was surpassed only by that of the Sefer ha-zohar. Lurianic Kabbala developed several basic doctrines: the "withdrawal" (tzimtzum) of the divine light, thereby creating primordial space; the sinking of luminous particles into matter (qellipot: "shells"); and a "cosmic restoration" (tiqqun) that is achieved by the Jew through an intense mystical life and unceasing struggle against evil. Lurianic Kabbalism was used to justify Shabbetaianism, a Jewish messianic movement of the 17th century.
Lurianic Kabbala also profoundly influenced the doctrines of modern Hasidism, a social and religious movement that began in the 18th century and still flourishes today in small but significant Jewish communities.
also spelled CHASIDISM (from Hebrew hasid, "pious one"), a pietistic movement within Judaism that began in the 18th century in southeastern Poland (Volhynia and Podolia) and persists today in small but vigorous groups, especially in the United States and Israel. Hasidism was a reaction against an orthodox religious system that had, many felt, become rigidly legalistic and in which the spiritual yearnings of the common people were lost. Rather than emphasize Talmudic learning, Hasidism made an appeal to emotionalism and anti-intellectualism.
In the 18th century a simple, devout, mystically inclined lime digger, Israel ben Eliezer, attracted crowds of simple people with comforting homilies and mystical expositions of the Scriptures. His reported cures of the sick and his unstinting devotion to the spiritual needs of the common people soon earned for him the reputation of a saint and miracle worker. The people called him the Ba'al Shem Tov, the "Master of the Good Name."
The Ba'al Shem Tov viewed true religion as being neither an ascetic withdrawal from the world nor a concentration on traditional rabbinic scholarship. He did not reject the Jewish faith or its customs and traditions but rather injected new elements--or at least new emphases--into Judaism by insisting that true religion was knowledge of the immanence of God in all creation. Awareness of this fact, he taught, leads to communion with God, mainly through prayer, although true worship relates to every activity of human life. Piety is superior to scholarship, and all men, however poor or ignorant, can commune with God if they have enthusiasm (hitlahavut) and a warm and trusting heart. If people serve God with a joyous heart in humility and meekness, the disunited world can be restored to unity, and saving grace will flow more freely. From God people would gain a sense of pride and dignity despite their lowly status.
The actual founder of the Hasidic community was Dov Baer ("Great Preacher"; c. 1710-12), whose reputation as a scholar made it possible for him to win important converts from among the learned rabbis. By investing Hasidic leaders (tzaddiqim, "righteous ones"; singular tzaddiq) with powers of intercession, he added an important element to Hasidic teachings. These tzaddiqim were said to have special sparks from heaven and to possess superhuman faculties unrelated to rabbinic learning.This concept prepared the way for countless small Hasidic communities in Poland, Russia, Lithuania, Hungary, and Palestine, each clustered around a tzaddiq. As the movement spread, shouting, dancing, singing, wild movements of the body, and stimulating drink became part of communal services, all geared to produce sudden bursts of rapturous prayer and induce states of ecstasy.
Hasidism eventually came into conflict with the Talmudically educated rabbinate. Long-smoldering opposition from Orthodox rabbis (called Mitnaggedim, or "Opponents") reached a climax in 1772 when Elijah ben Solomon, the gaon (spiritual leader) of Vilna, excommunicated the Hasidim for their practical repudiation of traditional Judaism, for pantheistic tendencies, for the adoption of esoteric Kabbalistic teachings, and for excessive veneration of the tzaddiqim. Elimelech of Lizhensk had, in fact, established Hasidic dynasties by claiming that charismatic qualities were transmitted by heredity from a father to his son. Despite such opposition, the movement continued unabated.
Many Hasidic leaders gained considerable renown, among them Jacob Isaac (d. 1815) of Lublin, Pol., popularly believed to be clairvoyant. He revived earlier stirrings of messianic hopes by declaring that the Napoleonic Wars were a prelude to messianic redemption that could be hastened by the use of magic. Shneur Zalman of Ladi (White Russia) attempted to combine mystical piety with rabbinic learning, but all to no avail. The opposition of the Mitnaggedim remained firm until the spread of the Haskala (Jewish Enlightenment) in eastern Europe in the 1830s presented both Hasidim and Mitnaggedim with a common enemy.
As the 20th century dawned, the pristine spirit of the Hasidim had greatly deteriorated. It began to take on an ultraconservative character and attacked any manifestation of modernity within the Jewish community. The tzaddiqim gained excessive power in their elaborate "courts," and the principle of dynastic succession proved detrimental to the movement's capacity for further change. In eastern Europe the Hasidim nevertheless remained a numerically strong group within Orthodox Judaism. Hasidism suffered a staggering blow when huge numbers of eastern and central European Jews were put to death by the Nazis during World War II. The few tzaddiqim who survived emigrated to Israel or the United States and established new followings. The most successful was the Lubavich sect headed (1950-94) by the Russian-born Menachem Mendel Schneerson, which numbered about 200,000 in the late 20th century. The philosopher Martin Buber, among others, did much in recent times to interpret Hasidism to the modern generation.

Chabad Lubavitch explains that the children of Noah are the Gentiles:
"With respect G-d's commandments, all of humanity is divided into two general classifications - the Children of Israel and the Children of Noah. The Children of Israel are the Jews, the descendants of the Patriarch Jacob. They are commanded to fulfill the 613 commandments of the Torah. The Children of Noah are the Gentiles, comprising the seventy nations of the world. They are commanded concerning the Seven Universal Laws, also known as the Seven Laws of the Children of Noah or the Seven Noahide Laws."
According to Masonic doctrine, a Noahide is an average Gentile, while a "true Noachida" would be a "righteous Gentile" (eg., a Mason) who pursues the study and keeping of the 7 Laws, thereby attaining to an advanced level of spirituality:
"When one of the Children of Noah engages in the study of the Seven Universal Laws, he is able to attain a spiritual level higher than the High Priest of the Jews, who alone has the sanctity to enter the Holy of Holies in the Temple in Jerusalem."
Albert Mackey upholds the binding nature of the Noahide Laws for salvation and "These seven obligations...are held binding on all men, inasmuch as all are descendants of Noah, and the Rabbins maintain that he who observes them, though he not be an Israelite, has a share in the future life, and it is the duty of every Jew to enforce their due observance wherever he has the power to do so." 12.

The highest judicial body of the United Nations, the World Court, is in the process of creating an International Criminal Court (ICC) which will soon excercise global authority over individual persons without the encumbrance of a Bill of Rights or common law tradition. As of 16 June 2000, 13 of the 60 ratifications of the treaty to establish the ICC have been received. The deadline is 31 December 2000:
"The Court, which is to be a permanent judicial body with jurisdiction over crimes committed by individuals, has now received 13 of the 60 ratifications necessary to bring it into being (Senegal, Trinidad and Tobago, San Marino, Italy, Fiji, Ghana, Norway, Belize, Iceland,
Tajikistan, Venezuela, France and Sierra Leone). So far, 97 countries have signed the treaty establishing the Court. The treaty remains open for signature until 31 December."
"On the matter of crimes initially within the Court's jurisdiction -- genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity -- the Commission is working to identify what elements would constitute those crimes and would need to be proven in order to obtain convictions. In the category of crimes against humanity, it is discussing such crimes as murder, enslavement, extermination, persecution, disappearance and sexual crimes."
Increasingly supported by the U.S. and other governments, the U.N.'s Hague Tribunal is only lacking a set of general principles by which to administer international law. "...the ICC's authorizing statute 'should be one of principle and not of detail...' [It should] be a flexible statute based on principles which may be developed by the Court as circumstances require while still providing sufficient guidance to establish an international framework within which the Court can work... also... the ICC must be able to employ 'an element of compulsion' in order 'to redress gross violations of human rights and international law....'"
Scripture states that the Antichrist will change TIMES and LAWS:
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws... (Dan. 7:25)
The New Age must inaugurate a new calendar in recognition of the new Christ. The opportune time for this transition would logically be the beginning of the new millennium which, according to the Greenwich 2000: Millennium website, "officially starts on 1 January 2001 (there was no year 0)."
This report will be concerned, however, with the other aspect of the Antichrist's administration. The imposition of international law is currently the objective of a worldwide, multicultural and politically-oriented religious network that is working diligently to hasten mankind's departure from the Age of Grace and return to "The Law." Indeed, according to dispensational theology, the Age of Grace closes with the rapture of the Church, commencing the 70th week of God's dealings with the nation of Israel and return to the Mosaic Law. (Dan. 9:27)
The many-faceted movement to enforce an international code of law is demanding that entire nations submit to a set of principles variously termed the Noahide Laws, the Moral Law, Natural Laws, Universal Laws, etc. This would normally not concern Christians, who are required under most circumstances to obey the laws of the higher authorities. However, this movement is not working exclusively outside the pale of Christianity, but is subtly seeking to establish its legal framework within the Church, which is not under Law but under Grace. (Romans 6:14) It therefore behooves believers to avoid the trap of always looking "out there" for purveyors of the traditions of men. We find in Scripture that the apostle Paul gave this warning to the elders of the Church of Ephesus:
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. for I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. (Acts 20:28, 29)

On March 4, Christian radio stations nationwide aired an address to the Council for National Policy by James Dobson, President of Focus on the Family. Expressing his determination to do whatever is necessary to restore the observance of "moral law," Dr. Dobson reasoned that, since God created Wisdom before He created anything else, the Moral Law is the law of the Universe. The identical appeal for nations to be governed by "natural law" and "moral law" has historically been made by the Orders of Freemasonry.
The demand for international law is also emanating from the worldwide Lubavitch movement, the Unification Church of Sun Myung Moon (which has close ties to the Council for National Policy), and the many groups represented within the CNP, such as Christian Reconstructionists, Moral Re-Armament, Knights of Malta, Opus Dei, etc. The insidious legalism and Kabbalism of the Lubavitch movement has also entered the Church disguised as the Hebraic Roots of Christianity. It is the purpose of this series to examine a vast network of religious organizations and movements whose common cause is bringing Christians into spiritual bondage to the Mosaic Law and, by extension, the Babylonian traditions which were appended to the Torah.[And Talmud !]
THE LUBAVITCH MOVEMENT
As you read this, bear in mind that the “moral” “Dr. Laura”[Schlessenger; jewess] Is a member of Lubavicher Synagog in California. She is laughing her guts out every time a "goyim" Christian calls in to her show for advice from her Anti-Christ self, and spills their life story over nationwide radio.
On the University of Calgary web site, the pages of Associate Professor of Theology, Dr. Eliezer Segal, present much information about ancient and modern Judaism. One of the modern schools of Judaic philosophy is Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidism, which Dr. Segal describes as Kabbalist movement:
"The name 'Chabad' is a Hebrew acronym for the expression 'Chokmah,' 'Binah" and 'Da'at' -- Wisdom, Intelligence and Knowledge. These Kabbalistic terms are central to the distinctive intellectual theology of the movement... The name Lubavitch refers to a town in Lithuania that was the centre of the movement for a brief period during the nineteenth century...Chabad Hasidism continued to be a major force among Russian and Lithuanian Jews from its inception...
"In 1940 the head of the movement Rabbi Joseph Isaac Schneerson moved to America from Russia. From the outset he expressed his determination to make the Lubavitch movement into an American religious movement (e.g., by abandoning the traditional European long frocks in favour of American-style dress)."
Chabad-Lubavitch is now an international movement with headquarters in New York. The American Friends of Chabad Lubavitch in Washington, D.C. coordinates activities for Chabad on Capital Hill, lobbies for Chabad causes, and runs study groups and social programs geared towards congressional staffers. In 1991, Chabad-Lubavitch in cooperation with President Bush established the observance of Education Day, USA "to return the world to the moral and ethical values contained in the Seven Noahide Laws."

The doctrines of the Lubavitch Movement are derived from the Kabbalah, the source book of Jewish mysticism or Gnosticism. The Encyclopedia of Religion states that the Lubavitch Hasidic interpretation of the Lurianic system of Kabbalah is among those taught in traditional Jewish institutions:
"The dominant brand of Qabbalah in the modern Qabbalistic Yeshivot (traditional Jewish academies) is the Lurianic system. It is studied according to the interpretations offered by Mosheh Hayyim Luzzatto, by Eliyyahu ben Shelomoh Aalman, by Habad, the Lubavitch Hasidic Movement and by the Sefardic Qabbalists of the Beit El Academy in Jerusalem." 1.
The "Lurianic system" of Kabalah was developed by Rabbi Luria (Ari). The Inner Dimension web site states: "Ari is an acronym for 'The Divine Rabbi Isaac [Luria]' (1534-1572), who received and conveyed revolutionary new insights into the wisdom of Kabbalah."
Rabbi Luria is identified by the Encyclopedia of Religion as the most influential of the Kabbalist/Theosophists: "The success of Luria's thought was instantaneous: his theosophy was accepted unanimously . . . and his Qabbalah was regarded as superior to the Cordoverian system." 2.
H.P. Blavatsky traces the Kabbalah to the ancient mysteries of Babylon and Egypt: "As is well known, the Kabala never originated with the Jews, who got their ideas from the Chaldeans and the Egyptians." 3.
The Secret Book of the Egyptian Gnostics claims that the sacred Book of the Cave of Treasures is alleged to contain the secret teachings that were written by Adam who, prior to his interment in Persia, transmitted them to Noah. According to the Gnostic tradition, "nascent Christianity" commingled with Zoroastrianism and the commands of Adam to Noah were preserved in Persia for the generations to come:
"The principle work in which ...all these traditions became synchrotized was The Book of the Cave of Treasures...It puts all these revelations into the mouth of Adam as the first of a long series of prophets, who predicts how the Magi will await the announcement of the Saviour, near this cave in which Adam himself will have been interred, and where the Treasures are concealed which the Magi will carry to Bethlehem...
"In The Book of the Cave of Treasures ...let us quote from it these lines, supposedly spoken by the Magi: Adam imparted revelations to his son Seth...he recommended his son Seth never to fail in justice as he Adam had done. Seth welcomed the teaching of his father with a pure heart and it was given to him to inscribe this wisdom in a book and to teach it...And thanks to him, for the first time in this world, there was seen a book written in the name of the Most High. Seth bequeathed to his descendents the book thus written, and that book was handed down even to Noah...(who) took with him into the Ark the books of these teachings... He ordained in his turn that the generation that came after him were to repeat...the mysteries in the books of Seth...These mysteries and this narrative were handed down even to our fathers...who passed them on to us." 4.
The Encyclopedia of Judaism locates the Noachide Laws in the Talmud Bavli, the Babylonian Talmud. [NOTE: On the Babylonian Talmud (T.B.), the following statement is representative Jewish scholarship: "There are two editions of the Talmud, the Jerusalem Talmud and the Babylonian Talmud. Of these two, the Babylonian Talmud is authoritative for Orthodox Judaism, which regards it as divinely inspired... The superiority of the Babylonian Talmud is so great, that when people now talk about the Talmud, they always mean the Babylonian Talmud. The authority of the Babylonian Talmud is also greater than that of the Jerusalem Talmud. In cases of doubt the former is decisive."] 5.
The Noachide Laws - The Encyclopedia of Judaism
(1) Civil justice [the duty to establish a legal system];
(2) Prohibition of blasphemy [which includes the bearing of false witness];
(3) The abandonment of idolatry;
(4) The prohibition of incest [including adultery and other sexual offenses];
(5) The prohibition of murder;
(6) Also that of theft;
(7) The law against eating flesh [a limb] cut from a living animal [ie., cruelty in any shape or form] (T.B. Sanh. 56A)
The Talmud also states the penalty for disobedience: "One additional element of greater severity is that violation of any one of the seven laws subjects the Noahide to capital punishment by decapitation. (Sanh. 57A)"

Courts Of Law
It has been pointed out that the second Noahide Law which prohibits blasphemy will preclude the worship of Jesus Christ, who was once accused of this very crime by the Sanhedrin. Moses Maimonides (Rabbi Moshe Ben Maimon - 11381204), better known as the Rambam, is universally recognized for his preeminence as a Jewish philosopher and thinker. His influence remains unabated until the present time. Maimonides classic work, Mishnah Torah, opens with a section on systematic philosophical theology, derived largely from Aristotelian science and metaphysics.
Maimonides Mishnah Torah, in Chapter 10 of the English Translation, states concerning Jesus Christ:
"It is a mitzvah [religious duty; ARC], however, to eradicate Jewish traitors, minnim, and apikorsim, and to cause them to descend to the pit of destruction, since they cause difficulty to the Jews and sway the people away from God, as did Jesus of Nazareth and his students, and Tzadok, Baithos, and their students. May the name of the wicked rot." 6.
The Mishnah is the early Talmud or the forerunner of the Talmud. To the Mishnah the rabbis later added the Gemara (rabbinical commentaries). Together these comprise the Talmud. Scholars will claim that the Talmud is partly a collection of oral traditions given by Moses which had not yet been written down in Jesus' time. However, Christ condemned the traditions of the Mishnah (early Talmud) and the Scribes and Pharisees who taught it, because the Talmud nullifies the teachings of Scripture. The warning of Jesus Christ about the traditions of men that make null and void the Word of God (Mark 7:1-13) is a direct reference to the Mishnah.
Likewise, the commands found in Genesis 9 and Acts 15 are not the equivalent of the 7 Noahide Laws of the Kabbalist/Lubavitchers, nor does the context in which these commands appear have any correlation to the radical agenda of the movement promoting the Noahide Laws. The information I will be posting on the Kabbalistic movements within Judaism does NOT implicate true orthodox Judaism as a component of the Antichrist religion. Rather, MYSTERY BABYLON of Revelation 17 will consist of the vast network of Mystery Religions covering the globe, of which many seek to identify with Judaism and Christianity as a covering for their sin.
In the course of this series, it will be seen that the Christian Church has been infiltrated by modern Judaizers who would commit believers to various obligations of their particular system of legalism. For those who would be His disciples, however, Jesus Christ enunciated the two greatest commandments which encompassed all the Law and the Prophets: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind... Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thy self." (Matt. 22:37,39)
The Noahide Laws
Path Of The Righteous Gentile
One purveyor of the Noahide Laws, the B'nai Noach, defines the term "Noahide" as a Gentile:
"A bat Noach [daughter of Noah] or b'nai Noach [son/child of Noah] is a non-Jew (Noahide) who follows the Jewish laws specifically given by God for them."
The Chabad Lubavitch, B'nai Noach and even some Messianic organizations identify the Noahide Laws with the command given to Noah in Genesis 9 and/or the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15. However, neither passage contains a these 7 commandments as a code of universal law, nor did God's purposes for giving these commands remotely correlate with the political agenda of the Lubavitch movement.
The Chabad Lubavitch in Cyberspace further states that God gave the 7 Noahide Laws at Mount Sinai with the intention that the Children of Israel should keep them and teach them to the Gentiles:
"...the Seven Universal Laws were given on Mount Sinai at the time when the Torah was given to the Jewish people...With the Giving of the Torah, the G-d of Israel chose the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as His Chosen People, commanding them to fulfill the 613 precepts of the Torah. He also commanded the righteous of the other nations of the world to keep the Seven Commandments of the Children of Noah and commanded Moses and his people teach them how."
Why should Gentiles need to be taught by Jews?
"The Scriptures prophesy that the Gentiles would go to the Jews and ask to be taught by them. There are many things found in the Hebrew Scriptures which cannot be understood without learning their Jewish context."
B'nai Noach cites Zechariah 8:22, 23 and there are other Scriptural references to the Messianic period when the Gentile nations will come to Jerusalem. However, understood in their proper context and with the revelation of the New Testament, these passages pertain expressly to the millennial reign of Jesus Christ:
Zechariah 8:22, 23: "Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts; in Those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you."
Isaiah 2:2,3: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem."
Isaiah 60:1-5: "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of they rising. Lift up thin eyes round about, and see; all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thin heart shall fear, and be enlarged because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee."
Lubavitch prophecies look for the messiah to arise from among their own leadership:
"The sect's early leaders prophesied that only seven rabbis would lead them, and before the death of the seventh, Messiah would come... The Lubavitcher’s prime candidate for being the Messiah, Rabbi Schneerson, died in June of 1994. The powerful Orthodox/Jewish sect has been left in a quandary, since they had been claiming that the Messiah would appear in Jerusalem before Schneerson’s death. While some Lubavitchers are actually still looking for Schneerson to soon be resurrected to prove his Messiahship, most others are looking elsewhere for the expected deliverer."
A link to the B'nai Noach, Light to the Nations, does not believe that Jesus fulfilled the criteria required of the messiah. Again, no Scripture references are given for the mission of the anticipated messiah:
"According to the prophets of the Bible, amongst the most basic missions of the messiah are:
to cause all the world to return to G-d and His teachings,
to restore the royal dynasty to the descendants of David,
to oversee the rebuilding of Jerusalem, including the Temple, in the event that it has not yet been rebuilt;
to gather the Jewish people from all over the world and bring them home to the Land of Israel,
and to reestablish the sanhedrin,
restore the sacrificial system,
as well as the Sabbatical year and Jubilee.
The Inner Dimensions website presents tables showing the correspondences between the Noahide Laws and the Sephirot or path of initiation taught in the Kabbalah, the book of Jewish mysticism. In other words, through observance of the Noahide Laws, the Righteous Gentiles ascend on path of initiation toward perfection.
"Every human soul possesses 10 sefirot, or spiritual powers. The first three are intellectual, while the remaining seven relate to the emotions. . .[T]he seven Noahide commandments correspond to the seven emotive powers of the soul. These, in turn, correspond to the seven major parts of the body...these seven commandments are arranged in the sefirotic structure familiar to students of Kabbalah. . ."
It is worth noting that the Noahide Laws will be administered by a restored Sanhedrin, the ruling body of the Jews which found Jesus Christ guilty of blasphemy on the accusations of two false witnesses. Under the Courts of Law section of the Noahide Laws is stated: "A person may be convicting [sic] in a Noahide court on the testimony of a single witness, but only if the witness is known to be righteous." The Noahide Laws are termed The Path of the Righteous Gentile.
Who are the righteous Gentiles?
Psalms 14 and 53 state emphatically that there are NONE (no not one):
...They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are altogether become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. (Ps.14:1-3)
To those Jews who considered themselves righteous, the Lord Jesus Christ said, I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. (Mark 2:17)
And to those who strove to ease their burden of sin through obedience to the Law, He extended an invitation to come to Him for release from their bondage to sin:
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matt. 11:28-30)
The false doctrine of merited righteousness through observance of the Noahide Laws is an affront to the grace of God, who imputes Christ's righteousness to sinful men on the basis of faith alone. Ephesians 2:1-10 describes true salvation whereby God unites the believer with Jesus Christ, who enables him/her to overcome the power of sin:
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace are ye saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus;
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of god:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Matthew Henry thus described the marvelous salvation which God has provided for sinners - Jew or Gentile:
"Our Lord Jesus is our Redeemer, our everlasting Redeemer; he looked with compassion on the deplorable state of fallen mankind…at a vast expense he redeemed the heavenly inheritance for us, which by sin was forfeited into the hands of Divine justice, and which we could never have been able to redeem. He purchased a peculiar people, whom he would espouse to himself, though strangers and foreigners…
"Though he was rich, yet for our sakes he became poor; but he was abundantly recompensed by his Father, who, because he thus humbled himself, hath highly exalted him, and given him a name above every name. To this union Christ invites the perishing sinner. This relation to the poor, despised believer, he avows and glories in. Let us then joyfully accept his salvation, look for all our happiness from him, and devote our selves to his service."
The Dawn of Civilization
If the Noahide Code of Universal Law is contrary to the Word of God, what then is its source?
The first two clauses of the U.S. Joint Resolution designating March 26, 1991 as "Education Day, USA, stated that the United States of America was founded upon "Seven Noahide Laws" which were the bedrock of society from the dawn of civilization:
"Whereas Congress recognizes the historical tradition of ethical values and principles which are the basis of civilized society and upon which our great Nation was founded;
"Whereas these ethical values and principles have been the bedrock of society from the dawn of civilization, when they were known as the Seven Noahide Laws;..."
Chabad Lubavitch in Cyberspace presents a fabricated History Of The Noahide Laws as having been given to Adam, Noah and Moses, and cites the Talmud and a Jewish sage, Rashi, as contributing to this mythology. You will note in the following Chabad Lubavitch passage a Talmudic extrapolation of Scripture in regard to the Sabbath - a practice of the Pharisees which Jesus noted as well.
"When G-d charged Adam, 'And the L-rd G-d commanded Adam, saying: Of every tree in the garden you may surely eat. But from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you may not eat of it, for on the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.' (Genesis 2:16,17) This single commandment contained the source of the Seven Noahide Commandments. And more, Adam was charged by G-d with the responsibility to teach the laws to future generations...
"It is a principle in Biblical analysis that when a verse states, 'And the L-rd spoke to Moses, saying...' it means that G-d taught Moses something and that He expected him to teach it to the Jewish people, or, as in the case of the Seven Commandments of the Children of Noah, to all of mankind. And so, Adam taught his children the Seven Universal Laws...
"The clear proof that the descendants of Adam knew these laws and were expected to obey them by the Divine Judge and Father, was that 1557 years later, He brought the Great Flood as a punishment for mankind's failure in keeping these commandments. 'And G-d saw the earth and, behold, it was corrupted, because all flesh had corrupted its way on the earth.' (Genesis 6:12)
"And so, with a new world and a fresh start at building it in sanctity, G-d reaffirmed the original seven commandments that He had taught Adam. G-d blessed Noah and his sons and their wives and promised him that He would never again destroy the world as He had done, sealing the promise for all time by striking a covenant with Noah as mankind's father. The rainbow with its seven colors reflected the beauty and divinity of the Seven Commandments of the Children of Noah...
"The Talmud states that in one opinion, the fruit of the tree of knowledge was the grape. What Adam had done was drink wine in a profane manner. It had been G-d's intention that Adam would wait until the Sabbath, which was to come in just a few hours, and then the fruit of the tree, the grape, would be used to sanctify the Sabbath and bear witness to the fact that G-d had created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. It is argued that Noah knew this deeper meaning of Adam's transgression and by planting a vineyard and using the wine for holy purposes, he could achieve the complete rectification of the sin. But Noah failed. He became intoxicated, and discovered naked by his youngest son Ham, who shamed him by calling Noah's other two sons, Shem and Japheth to see their father's drunken nakedness.
"Rashi comments on this verse (Genesis 9:22) that Ham either castrated his father or had homosexual relations with him or both. Shem and Japheth respectfully covered their father with a garment, but the damage had been done. Noah awoke and cursed Ham and his descendants and the Divine Presence looked down in pity, now from the fifth heaven. The Seven Commandments of the Children of Noah remained, as before the Flood, unheeded by all but a few, notably Shem and his grandson Eber, who established Houses of Study for the purpose of understanding and fulfilling the Noahide Laws."
The House of Bondage
Under the guise of orthodox Jewry, the modern Kabbalists are taking both Jew and Gentile back to Egypt, the ancient house of bondage - a fact confirmed by Theosophist, H.P. Blavatsky, who traced the Kabbalah to the mystery religions of Babylon and Egypt: "As is well known, the Kabbala never originated with the Jews, who got their ideas from the Chaldeans and the Egyptians." 7.
The Secret Book of the Egyptian Gnostics presents an account of Adam and Noah that is quite similar to the Chabad Lubavitch. Author Jeanne Doresse revealed the existence of a sacred Book of the Cave of Treasures which synchrotized the traditions of nascent Christianity with...Iranian and Jewish myths (Zoroaster)" including the "wisdom" or "mysteries" that were handed down from Adam to Seth to Noah:
"In The Book of the Cave of Treasures ...let us quote from it these lines, supposedly spoken by the Magi: Adam imparted revelations to his son Seth ... he recommended his son Seth never to fail in justice as he Adam had done. Seth welcomed the teaching of his father with a pure heart and it was given to him to inscribe this WISDOM in a book and to teach it...And thanks to him, for the first time in this world, there was seen a book written in the name of the Most High. Seth bequeathed to his descendents the book thus written, and that book was handed down even to Noah...(who) took with him into the Ark the books of these teachings... The True Noahides
In The History of Freemasonry, HIGH ADEPT AND PRINCE OF MASONRY, ALBERT MACKEY, provides the sequel to the Egyptian/Kabbalist accounts of Noah:
"After Noah’s emergence from the Ark, he is said to have promulgated seven precepts for the government of the new race of men of whom he was to be the progenitor...  To do justice  Worship God  Abstain from idolatry  Preserve chastity  Do not commit murder  Do not steal  Do not eat blood." 9.
Mackey further identifies Noah as the originator of a mystery religion known as the Arkite Worship.
"The influence of Noah on Masonic doctrine is to be traced to the almost universal belief of men in the events of the deluge, and a consequent establishment in many nations of a system of religion known to ethnologists as the 'Arkite Worship... Hence arose that system known to modern scholars as the 'Arkite Worship' in whose rites and mysteries, which were eventually communicated to the other ancient religions. There were always some allusions to the events of the Noahic flood - to the Ark, as the WOMB OF NATURE, to the eight persons saved in it, as the Ogdoad or sacred number - and to the renovation of the world, as symbolizing the passage from death to immortal life." 10.
Regarding Arkite Worship, the Watch Unto Prayer report A Sacred Assembly, explains the blasphemous Kabbalist doctrine that the Holy of Holies within the Jerusalem Temple is the "womb of nature" (Hat-hor) or Isis. It is from this Kabbalistic interpretation of Scripture that Freemasonry derived its initiation rite of the third degree, in which the Master Mason is baptized into the death of Osiris and resurrected to immortality.
Prince Adept, Albert Mackey, wrote that Masons are required by the Old Charges to obey the precepts of Noah as "the Moral Law," i.e.., "that religion in which all men agree."
"...(A) revision of the Old Charges...contained this passage: 'A Mason is obliged by his tenure to obey the Moral Law.' In the edition of 1738, Dr. Anderson has, without authority, completed the sentence by adding the words, 'As a true Noachida. ...the only religious laws which a Freemason is required to obey are those which are contained in the code that has been attributed to Noah. This sentiment is still further expressed toward the close of the 'Old Charges' where it is said that the Mason is obliged only 'to that religion in which all men agree,' excluding therefore atheism and requiring the observance of such simple laws of morality as are enjoined in the precepts of Noah." 11.
A History of English Freemasonry web site defines the Old Charges of Freemasonry as the moral "duties" of the Mason: "These are parchment rolls up to nine feet in length or paper sheets formed into notebooks containing a legendary history of the mason trade and Charges reciting the duties of a mason to his God, his master, his craft and his fellows."
Chabad Lubavitch explains that the children of Noah are the Gentiles: "With respect G-d's commandments, all of humanity is divided into two general classifications - the Children of Israel and the Children of Noah. The Children of Israel are the Jews, the descendants of the Patriarch Jacob. They are commanded to fulfill the 613 commandments of the Torah. The Children of Noah are the Gentiles, comprising the seventy nations of the world. They are commanded concerning the Seven Universal Laws, also known as the Seven Laws of the Children of Noah or the Seven Noahide Laws."
According to Masonic doctrine, a Noahide is an average Gentile, while a "true Noachida" would be a "righteous Gentile" (eg., a Mason) who pursues the study and keeping of the 7 Laws, thereby attaining to an advanced level of spirituality: "When one of the Children of Noah engages in the study of the Seven Universal Laws, he is able to attain a spiritual level higher than the High Priest of the Jews, who alone has the sanctity to enter the Holy of Holies in the Temple in Jerusalem."
Albert Mackey upholds the binding nature of the Noahide Laws for salvation and "These seven obligations...are held binding on all men, inasmuch as all are descendants of Noah, and the Rabbins maintain that he who observes them, though he not be an Israelite, has a share in the future life, and it is the duty of every Jew to enforce their due observance wherever he has the power to do so." 12.

much more reduced. As a non-Jew oriented to supporting the Jewish community, you
need to understand this principle and act on it. While maintaining your social
distance is counter-intuitive – as a person who loves Jews and Judaism,
you’re inclination will be to cultivate closer social relationships with Jews
– nothing you do is
more important. And nothing you do
will earn you more respect from the observant Jewish community. This principle applies equally to married and non-married
Jews, but the practical effect is different. If you are young and single, you
pose an obvious problem to the Jewish community, and you need to be more careful
in your behavior. You will get some help from observant Jews. Both the men and
the women may be more reserved around you than they would be if you were
married, especially happily so. They are unlikely to be rude – just a little
more distance from you than from your married cousin. If you understand the
issue – intermarriage – and its importance, their behavior falls into place.
This has to do with your
status, not your
personality. Understand it. Honor it. Don’t push it. If you are married, you may find the social climate a
bit more welcoming. You still need to maintain some reserve – especially
around Jews of the opposite sex. And hospitality remains one-sided. They can
invite you to their place for dinner. And you can’t reciprocate. Relax and
enjoy it. Here are a few social "Do’s": Do

bottle of kosher wine, you make it non-kosher for Jews. An except to the
rule against sharing wine with Jews occurs at a religious occasion – a Shabbat
meal, a wedding, a bar/bat mitzvah, a brit milah
(circumcision). These are not
considered social occasions and you will usually be offered wine. It is okay
to accept, though if
a rabbi is available, you might want to check. Don't mislead anyone about your marital status. Don’t attend a wedding, especially the religious
portion, between a Jew and a non-Jew. If you are a minister, do
not perform the
wedding between a non-Jew and a Jew. The

Complications, however, arise when transposing from the individual to the state and society. To put it into modern terms, a state that does not abide by the Noahide (that is, universal) covenant is not a civilized state, for that covenant implies the security of its citizens and their fundamental human rights.
16) "That the court is to administer the death penalty by the sword [i.e., decapitation]." (Positive 226)
Thou shalt establish laws and courts of law to administer these laws,
including the death penalty for those who kill, administered only if there
is one testifying eyewitness (Note: The Jewish Law, found in Deuteronomy
17:6, requires the testimony of 2 or 3 witnesses before one can be executed.
In fact, the last sentence of verse 6 specifically states, "...he shall not
be put to death on the evidence of one witness". This should be our first
clue that these seven Noahide Laws are nothing more than a clever
counterfeit of God's Ten Commandments).
Their interpretation has its antecedents in Maimonides, who wrote that there are basic laws of decency which are defined under the rubric of the Seven Noahide Laws, which every society must obey, and the failure to uphold these laws may result in an entire community being subject to the death penalty.

In the course of his efforts to influence U.S. legislators and to make known to the larger American population the talmudic dictum contained in the so-called "Noahide Laws," the late grand rabbi of the ultra-orthodox Chabad Lubavitch hassidic movement, Menachem Mendel Schneerson (1902-1994), declared the year 1977 to be a "year of education," and called upon Congress to establish an "Education Day" on the American calendar. Schneerson felt that the people of the United States would incorporate his "Education Day" into their national celebrations and eventually regard them as equal to long honored traditions such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day, or Mother's Day. As a result of this, the House of Representatives nominated 1977 "A National Year of Education". This influence was also felt in Congress, and in January of the following year, in a Joint Resolution of the House of Representatives and the Senate, signed by Thomas P. O'Neil, Speaker of the House, and Vice President and President of the Senate, Walter F. Mondale, a formal request was given to President Jimmy Carter to declare April 18, 1978 (Schneerson's seventy-sixth birthday), as "Education Day, U.S.A." The President accepted the petition and signed the proclamation into law. Since then, "Education Day U.S.A." has become an institutionalized practice in governmental circles. Every year, in the date corresponding to the eleventh day of the Hebrew month of Nissan, which is the anniversary of Schneerson's birthday, a Presidential Proclamation and a Joint Resolution by the Senate and the House of Representatives is issued as a tribute to this religious leader.
The full text of the 1978 "Education Day, U.S.A." Presidential proclamation reads:
On April 13 of this year the Congress of the United States concluded its deliberations on a joint resolution which recognized the need for this Nation to set aside a special day devoted to recognizing the importance of education in the lives of our citizens. To emphasize its commitment, the Congress has authorized and requested the President to issue a proclamation designating April 18, 1978 as Education Day, U.S.A., and calling for its appropriate observance. I am honored to join with the House of Representatives and the Senate in recognizing this need and privileged to comply with their request.
NOW, THEREFORE, I JIMMY CARTER, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim Tuesday, April 18, 1978, as Education Day, U.S.A. and I ask all Americans to observe that day in such manner as reflects their commitment to education and their recognition of its importance to the welfare of this Nation.

A second proclamation no less important in terms of governmental recognition was the joint resolution issued by Congress on the same day that reads:

Commenting on the governmental recognition bestowed upon him, Schneerson said:
"The proclamation of an Education Day, U.S.A., on the American calendar augurs well for the vital cause of education in all countries which look up to the United States of America for leadership and inspiration in all vital matters that transcend national boundaries, and conduce to a better human society and a better world."
In another statement related to the same topic he said:
"It is fitting indeed that the U.S.A. has shown, through a forceful example to the world, that it places education among its foremost priorities. It is also to be hoped that "Education Day" will become a permanent institution, especially since, by reason of the pervasive nature of education, it would lend further significance to other "Days" such as Father's Day and Mother's Day and similar institutions which have become part of the American life. The proclamation of "Education Day, U.S.A." is of extraordinary significance in impressing upon all citizens the importance of education, both in their own lives as well as, and even more so, (in that of) the young generation in their formative years -- particularly in the present day and age."
Based on Schneerson's remarks, one would assume that he was concerned only with the educational and moral aspects of American society and nothing else. It would have been unconceivable to assume that he, a revered religious leader and a person of [as it was thought] unquestionable ethics and standards had other purposes in mind, or a hidden agenda. No one could have argued that Menachem Schneerson was actually envisioning the most powerful country in the world, the United States of America, being ruled by the tenets of talmudic law; but a careful examination of what he meant by "education" and what --in his view-- constituted "morality" will reveal a reality that was totally ignored not only by the American people, but even by the politicians and law-makers who issued the actual proclamations. Slowly, but in a very effective way, the ground was being prepared for the introduction of a form of Jewish [rabbinic] legislation which, although presented as being in line with the ideals of liberty, democracy, and justice, was in fact all the contrary. We are referring to the talmudic concept known in the Hebrew language as "Sheva Mitzvot Bnei Noach", or "The Seven Laws of the Children of Noah."
But first, it is necessary to understand the circumstances that led to the continuous governmental recognition and endorsements, to the point where the Education Day, U.S.A. bill became a federal law and beyond.
On April 18, 1978, one day after the first Education Day U.S.A. proclamation was made, from his office at the world Chabad Lubavitch headquarters located at 770 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn, N.Y., the Lubavitcher Rebbe --as Schneerson was known-- began using a phrase that would be quoted many times not only by him, but also in most of the subsequent Education Day proclamations, as well as in the Joint Resolutions. He said:
"Education must put together emphasis on the promulgation of fundamental human rights and obligations of justice and morality, which are the basis of any human society."
Schneerson spoke about a "morality which was the basis of any human society." This phrase was intrinsically connected to the so-called Noahide Laws, to the effect that this talmudic form of legislation was the source from which true morality, human rights, the sense of social justice, equity, and democracy in the United States of America were drawn. The Christian values and ethics held by its Founding Fathers were put aside and replaced by means of an historical revisionism that favored the teachings of the Jewish Talmud; in other words, the true American values had their origin in the Seven Noahide Laws.
As time passed and the Education Day, U.S.A. proclamations and the Joint Resolutions on behalf of the Lubavitcher Rebbe continued, the Chabad Lubavitch movement acquired more prominence in Capitol Hill. An example of the involvement of this Jewish group in governmental affairs can be seen in the following fact:
In 1980 the U.S. Congress legislated the establishment of an Intergovernmental Advisory Council on Education. The members of this council were appointed by President Jimmy Carter and chaired by Governor Bob Graham of Florida. The Lubavitch lobby in Capitol Hill determined that they should not miss the opportunity to be included in this program, and through the agency of influential friends such as businessman David T. Chase and Senator Joseph Lieberman, they managed to have President Carter appoint Rabbi Abraham Shemtov, who was Schneerson's liaison to the White House as a member of this council.
--It is worthy to mention that in January of 1989, right before Joseph Lieberman went to the city of Washington to take office as U.S. Senator for the State of Connecticut, he went before the Rebbe to request a bracha (a blessing), so that he may succeed in all his political endeavors. Lieberman had also previously gone to consult the Rebbe on the occasion of his marriage to Hadassah Freilich, the daughter of an orthodox rabbi, with whom he had one child, Hana. This serves as an example of the important political connections the Rebbe had, and explains the means by which he got in touch with key political figures in U.S. government.
Thus, on July 28, 1980, Rabbi Shemtov was presented with a special recognition signed by President Jimmy Carter and handed to him by then Secretary of Education Shirley Hofstedler. The text of the document reads:

To all who shall see these presents. Greetings:
Know ye, that reposing special trust and confidence in the integrity and ability of Abraham Shemtov of Pennsylvania, I do appoint him a member of the Intergovernmental Advisory Council on Education for a term of two years and do authorize and empower him to execute and fulfil the duties of that Office according to law, and to have and to hold the said Office with all the powers, privileges, and emoluments thereunto of right appertaining unto him the said Abraham Shemtov, subject to the conditions prescribed by law.
In testimony whereof, I have caused these letters to be made patent and the seal of the United States to be hereunto affixed.
Done at the city of Washington this twenty-eight day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eighty, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and fifth.

Talking about Abraham Shemtov, a curious anecdote comes to mind.
It was expected of him, a flamboyant member of the U.S. Intergovernmental Advisory Council on Education that he would at least be educated in the basics of current international affairs, but an embarrassing incident that occured after his term ended showed that he and other Chabad leaders lacked of an awareness of the sensibilities of non-Jewish people. The incident was published in the Jewish Week magazine of NY, June-July issue of 1987, p 14.
Accordingly, in his efforts to obtain publicity for the promotion of the Noahide Laws, the leadership of the Lubavitch sect invited then Chilean dictator, General Augusto Pinochet to be the seventh signer of an International Scroll of Honor on behalf of Menachem Schneerson.
Jerome Mintz, Professor of Anthropology and Jewish Studies at Indiana University relates that:
"Pinochet used the occasion to praise the principles of his own authoritarian regime; and he was in turn praised by the lay president of Chabad in Chile, David Feurstein. The originator of the proclamation, Rabbi Abraham Shemtov, director of the Chabad House of Philadelphia, was surprised by the firestorm of protest raised by opponents of the dictator's regime in Chile. Ethical and moral problems in contemporary politics seemed beyond the narrow focus of Lubavitch concerns. Shemtov explained that he does not understand Spanish or politics: 'Political science and current political goings-on in all parts of the world are not really my field.' "

It was clear that Shemtov was only interested in pursuing his agenda, without considering the consequences of a bad calculated move.
By 1982, now under Ronald Reagan's Presidential term, the wording of the yearly Joint Resolution in honor of the octogenarian rabbi had dramatically changed. This particular proclamation labeled as "National Day of Reflection," was more of a promotion of the Noahide Laws than a mere recognition to a religious leader. A look at the wording of the document shows that Schneerson's long held dream for the dissemination of the Noahide Laws was becoming a reality, since for the first time in American history the Senate and the House of Representatives openly endorsed talmudic law.

RESOLVED by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President is authorized to issue a proclamation designating April 4, 1982, which this year coincides with the eightieth birthday of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, universally respected and revered leader and head of the worldwide Lubavitch movement, who has done so much to foster and promote these ethical values and principles, as the "National Day of Reflection."

By the President of the United States of America
Amid the distractions and concerns of our daily existence, it is appropriate that Americans pause to reflect upon the ancient ethical principles and moral values which are the foundation of our character as a nation.
We seek, a steadfastly pursue, the benefits of education. But education must be more than factual enlightenment--it must enrich the character as well as the mind.
One shinning example for people of all faiths of what education ought to be is that provided by the Lubavitch movement, headed by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, a worldwide spiritual leader who will celebrate his 80th birthday on April 4, 1982. The Lubavitcher Rebbe's work stands as a reminder that knowledge is an unworthy goal unless it is accompanied by moral and spiritual wisdom and understanding. He has provided a vivid example of the eternal validity of the Seven Noahide Laws, a moral code for all of us regardless of religious faith. May he go from strength to strength.
In recognition of the Lubavitcher Rebbe's 80th birthday, the Senate and the House of Representatives of the United States in Congress assembled have issued House Joint Resolution 477 to set aside April 4, 1982, as a "National Day of Reflection."
NOW, THEREFORE, I, RONALD REAGAN, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim April 4, 1982 as National Day of Reflection.

The recognition bestowed upon the Lubavitcher leader by the official representatives of the U.S. Government continued. But from 1984 onward, every Education Day, U.S.A. Presidential Proclamation as well as the Joint Resolution bills, included appraisals to the Lubavitcher Rebbe for his leading role in the promotion of the Noahide Laws in America and the world. They were once and again exalted as the ethical values and principles that ought to be followed by the citizens of the United States of America.
Excerpts of subsequent "Education Day U.S.A." Presidential Proclamations, or Joint Resolutions issued by both Houses of Congress of the United States:
"The Lubavitch movement, headed by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, has provided people of all faiths a shining example of the true value of education. The Lubavitcher Rebbe's work is a living reminder that knowledge is worthy only when accompanied by moral and spiritual wisdom and understanding. In fostering and promoting a tradition of ethical values that can trace its roots to the Seven Noahide Laws, which have often been cited as universal norms of ethical conduct and a guarantee of fundamental human rights, the Lubavitch movement and its greatly respected leader have shown Americans of every faith that true education involves not simply what one knows, but how one lives."

The Noahide Laws are actually seven commandments given to man by God, as recorded in the Old Testament. These commandments include prohibitions against murder, robbery, adultery, blasphemy, and greed, as well as the positive order to establish courts of justice.
Through the leadership of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson and the worldwide Lubavitch movement, the Noahide Laws --and standards of conduct duly derived from them-- have been promulgated around the globe."
1991 [the year in which the Education Day U.S.A. Presidential Proclamation became a Public Law (Public Law 102-14, H.J. Res. 104)] :

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, clearly understood the importance of fostering character.. Next year marks the 100th annyversary of the Rebbe's birth, but his legacy of teaching that a nation's true greatness is measured by whether it produces citizens of compassion and character remains timeless.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim April 4, 2001, as Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A., 2001. By teaching children the highest standards of ethical behavior [understood to be the Noahide Laws], Americans prepare our next generation of leaders to pursue meaningful lives as members of a decent and caring society."
In the Spring of 1987, the Lubavitcher Rebbe took a decisive step towards a definite officialization of the Noahide Laws. But he didn't limit himself to American government circles, because this time he directed his attention towards the nations of the world.
In a very smart move the Lubavitch lobby in the White House accomplished to have President Ronald Reagan to grant an additional recognition to Schneerson, which came along with the yearly "Education Day, U.S.A." proclamation and the joint resolution. Thus, an official document labeled the "International Scroll of Honor" was granted to the Lubavitch leader for his involvement in the promotion of the Noahide Laws. This document represented the ultimate honor a religious leader could aspire to. It expressed the respect and good will of Heads of States from around the world who acted as spokesmen for their respective countries. The first signature imprinted in the document was President Reagan's, followed by the rubric of many world leaders.
--But a commentary should be made with regards to the text of the International Scroll of Honor.
At first glance, this document seemed to have been written by an official redactor from the White House; but a careful examination shows that it is highly unlikely that neither President Reagan or any of his advisors could have redacted it. The wording and certain key phrases used in the document indicate that they hardly would have been familiarized with some terms that are only common to religious Jews, such as the word "shlita" that was written twice after mentioning Schneerson's name. Shlita is an acronym for the Hebrew phrase "She-yichie le'orech yamim tovim, amen", meaning, "May he live long and good days, amen!" This is an expression that orthodox Jews attach after the name of their rebbes (if they are hassidic Jews), or after their grand rabbis and heads of talmudic academies, if they are mitnagdim (i.e., orthodox Jews who do not ascribe to the hassidic philosophy). We can conclude then, that the text of the International Scroll of Honor was produced by someone from the Chabad Lubavitch camp.
But before going to the text of the International Scroll of Honor, and in order to conclusively demonstrate that it was not elaborated by U.S. officials, two more details are to be shown.
On the upper part of the document, there is a logo that resembles the planet earth. The logo is surrounded by the phrase "Celebration Eighty-Five". Above the logo, three Hebrew letters are written: a 'bet', a 'samech', and a 'dalet' (with an apostrophe between the samech and the dalet). This is an acronym for the Aramaic phrase "be-siyata dish'maya", meaning "with the help of God" [lit. "with the help of heaven"]; this is one of the traditional ways in which orthodox Jews begin their correspondence or any other document sent to each other.
On the bottom of the logo, two more Hebrew letters are written: a peh and a hei [separated by an apostrophe]. This stands for "pe'er hador," which means, "the magnificence of the generation," and refers to the excellence and royalty they ascribe to their religious leader and to the Lubavitch movement itself. The text of the document reads:

WHEREAS, his venerated vision, wisdom and leadership have contributed greatly to the promotion of education and the betterment of mankind by his call to recognize the historical tradition of ethical values and principles which have been the bedrock of society from the dawn of civilization when they were known as the Seven Noahide Laws, transmitted through G-d to Moses on Mount Sinai; and
WHEREAS, the President and both houses of Congress of the United States of America have accordingly recognized "Education Day - U.S.A." and "National Day of Reflection" on his birthday, and similar recognition offered by other nations on this day; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, on the occasion of his birthday, April 10, 1987 corresponding to the 11th of Nissan 5747, we the undersigned do present the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson shlita the International Scroll of Honor recognizing his brilliant achievements and wishing him health, long life and many more years of leadership to crown his celebrated career.

On May 17, 1987, Schneerson wrote a letter to President Reagan expressing his satisfaction for all the honors and recognition he had recently received. But he also saw the opportunity to communicate him his wish for a wider exposition and promotion of the Noahide Laws. This time he wanted to spread the knowledge of the Noahic code to other nations -- and so he did.
"I was impressed with your meaningful Proclamation of 'Education Day, USA' in connection with the Joint Resolution of the United States Congress, and I sincerely appreciate your heading the roster of signatories to the "International Scroll of Honor" affiliated with it. Its mention of "the historical tradition of ethical values and principles, which have been the bedrock of society from the dawn of civilization when they were known as the Seven Noahide Laws, transmitted through G-d to Moses on Mount Sinai," is a clarion call to all mankind.
Furthermore, it is particularly gratifying that you use this occasion to bring to the attention of the Nation and of the International community the need of upgrading education in terms of moral values, without which no true education can be considered complete."
Three months later, in August 25, President Reagan replied to Schneerson's letter and said:
"Dear Rabbi Schneerson:
I'm sorry to be late responding to your letter of May 17, but I'm just now having some quiet time to catch up.
I was very pleased to receive your message and to have the benefit of your reflections on the important role moral and spiritual values must play in the realm of education. The renewed attention being paid to these questions, not only in debates among public policy makers, but in academic and intellectual circles as well, is encouraging. I believe this trend is virtually certain to continue as the American people look for ways to apply the lessons of tradition to the problems facing our educational system and so many other areas of our national life.
I appreciate your contributions to these welcome developments and all that the Lubavitch movement has done to foster the inculcation of high moral and ethical standards [as we have seen, these "moral and ethical standars" are meant to be the Noahide Laws].

On September 6, Schneerson wrote to President Reagan thanking him for his letter of August 25. This time he boldly insinuated that the Noahide Laws ought to be taught "with all their ramifications." But as we will further see, those "ramifications" actually stand against the morality and the education which he portrayed to promote. The letter reads:
".. we have reasons to believe that your forceful supportive stance to help upgrade the moral standards of human relationships on the basis of the so-called Seven Noahide Laws --with all their ramifications-- as imperatives of a Supreme Being who monitors all human conduct, has made a great impact on the consciousness of the contemporary troubled generation of mankind.
..In light of the above, your lasting contribution, through word and deed, to the advancement of all inhabitants in this blessed land and of humanity at large, will surely stand you in good stead for a goodly measure of Divine blessing."
On November 20, seven months after the International Scroll of Honor affair, President Reagan sent a letter to the leadership of the Lubavitch movement where he expressed his approval for their work and told them that he was willing to meet with them in a future date.

"It is a pleasure to send greetings to everyone gathered with Rabbi Menachem Schneerson and the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch. The representation of the Lubavitch movement in so many countries is the testimony to the power and strength of its ideas.
I recently had the honor of signing the International Scroll of Honor that pays tribute to Rabbi Schneerson and affirms fundamental ethical values upon which all civilized societies must be based. I know that those of you gathered this week at Lubavitch World Headquarters promote the acceptance of the Almighty's commandments to all mankind. In doing so, you combat the anti-religious forces that have caused so much misery in our lifetimes. I applaud your work.
You have my best wishes for a successful meeting and for the future."

In 1988, the Presidency of the United States was occupied by George Bush senior, and he and his administration were not exempted from continuing the now ten year-old practice of granting the Lubavitch leader the high governmental honor of the Education Day, U.S.A. Presidential proclamation, and the adjacent Joint Resolution in honor of every one of his birthdays. But it was on 1991, the third year of Bush's Presidential term when the proclamations became a federal law. In a bill known as "Public Law 102-14, Resolution 104" the Noahide Laws became finally officially endorsed by the highest authorities of the United States of America. The document reads:

It was about the same year that a curious phenomenon occurred in the Chabad Lubavitch movement. A prominent group in the sect started proclaiming that Schneerson was the "Moshiach" [the Messiah], and it seemed that the old rabbi himself used to approve of such expressions of fervor. He would smile and wave his hand, and even nod with the head in approval when the multitude of hassidic Jews would sing "Yechi Adonenu, Morenu ve-Rabbenu, Melech ha-Mashiach l'olam Va'ed," which means: "Long live our Master, our Teacher and our Rebbe, the King Messiah forever and ever!" Frenetic songs and dances accompanied the outbursts. This would happen in farbrengens, or communal meetings with the Rebbe, in many yeshivot, [talmudic academies], in synagogues, or in the streets, either in Brooklyn, Antwerp, Los Angeles, Israel, and as far as Russia. It appeared that the majority in the movement had been possessed by a mystic frenzy that according to them, was a sign and a circumlocution to the ultimate redemption that would come through their beloved rabbi.
But this trend reached its climax when some Lubavitcher leaders eventually started to claim that Schneerson wasn't only the Messiah, but God Himself.
In an article published in "The National Jewish Post & Opinion" newspaper of Indianapolis, dated January 13, 1999, page 3, a most interesting report details the matter. The article reads:
"...In paid advertisements on two full pages in the Wisconsin Jewish Chronicle exception was taken to the claim that the late Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, who headed the Lubavitch movement was God.
The claim of divinity was made in the new calender [sic] published in Russian by Rabbi Alexander Milchstein, who heads the Milwaukee Synagogue for Russian Jews-Congregation Moshiach Now.
The first page of the calendar displays a photograph of Rabbi Schneerson under which in large type in Russian letters were "B-G," standing for the word "BOG," Russian for God.
...Rabbi Milchstein defended his position and claimed that most of the Lubavitch chassidim hold the same belief as his "but hide their beliefs for fear that fundraising be affected."
Also in the weekly Jewish newspaper, the Forward, February 6, 1998, page 1 the followng was said concerning this trend in the Lubavitch movement:
" "The Lubavitcher rebbe is becoming God" for some chassidim, wrote Rabbi Berger, a Brooklyn College professor, in Ha'aretz. "For example, in the fall of 1996, the Israeli weekly Sichat HaGeullah printed a revised version of the standard messianist slogan which read, 'May our Master, Teacher and Creator (instead of Rabbi) the King Messiah live forever,' and a few weeks later it declared that it is permissible to bow to the rebbe because 'his entire essence is divinity alone.'"
Rabbi berger went on to cite an article in an English-language publication, Beis Moshiach, that called the rebbe the "Essence and being of God enclothed in a body, omniscient and omnipotent." "
But there were of course, some in the movement that opposed this trend, for they considered that the entire Chabad Lubavitch movement could lose credibility among Jews and non-Jews alike if their dead rabbi resulted not to be whom many among them said he was. The hard-earned position in the American society and the government could be seriously damaged.
Yet, to many others, the Rebbe was the perfect candidate [at least] for the Messianic throne, since he --they argued-- was "a towering Torah scholar and the leader of all Jewry". They called to attention that dozens of volumes of the Rebbe's teachings had been published to the date, and more were in the process of publication. His writings [they said] encompassed the full spectrum of Jewish scholarship; including Jewish law, ethics, philosophy, Chassidic thought and Kabbalah; not to mention the fact that he held a university degree and was fluent in more than 6 languages. They also considered that since the beginning of his leadership in 1951, his efforts to reach every segment of the Jewish people had been unlimited, and that for forty years he had been sending his emissaries wherever a Jew may be found -- as far as Morocco, Russia, Thailand, and Australia.
But perhaps [they argued], the most clear proof of the universalistic character of Menachem Schneerson, and a clear evidence of his "divine mission," was the fact that he had been the only prominent Jewish religious leader in 2000 years who stressed the importance of bringing a recognition from the non-Jewish world, by means of a massive effort towards the publication and awareness of the Seven Laws of Noah, also known as the "Noahide Laws," which according to rabbinic tradition, are the basic requirements for gentiles to achieve righteousness and be above the level of the beasts [as it will be shown below].
From Prime Ministers to laymen, from children to renowned talmudic scholars, thousands of men, women and children from every walk of life had come to the Rebbe's synagogue at 770 Eastern Parkway to receive his personal blessing and advice. A number of world leaders corresponded with Schneerson on a regular basis, including some Presidents of the United States.
The continuity of official recognition and endorsement to the Noahide Laws is confirmed by the proclamations that each year, up to the present time, have been made. Nothing has changed, even after Schneerson's death on June 12, 1994 at the age of 92.
In June of 1995, a series of special ceremonies were held in Washington DC, they occurred in such prestigious locales as: the Senate's Dirksen hearing Room, the U.S. Library of Congress, the Benjamin Franklyn Room in the Department of State, the U.S. Department of Education, with the closing reception and banquet in the Presidential Ballroom of the Capital Hilton, to pay tribute to the deceased religious leader by acknowledging his legacy, and to mark the awarding of America's highest civilian recognition to him. Thus, at the 103rd Congress of the United States of America, the Congressional Gold Medal was awarded to Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
Over one thousand of his emissaries and guests from across America and 30 countries attended the meeting, together with the members of Congress, the Washington Diplomatic Corps, Jewish religious leaders and other dignitaries.
Among those who spoke at the ceremony were the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich; Representative John Lewis, who was the Chief Deputy Democratic whip; John DiLazzio [who in the year 2000 would run against Hillary Clinton for the Senate seat of the State of New York.] Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel was also there as well as future U.S. Vice-President wanna-be, Senator Joseph Lieberman.
At the Senate Caucus Room, Rabbi Levi Shemtov, Director of the Washington office of the American Friends of Lubavitch introduced Senator Lieberman and adressed the crowd in the following way:
"How does somebody introduce a man like Joe Lieberman? I don't know, but I will try. I refer wherever I see him -- and I see him very often -- to: "Yoisef ha-tzaddik" [Joseph, the righteous one]; a man walking the greatest halls of power on earth and clinging so tightly to the faith and the principles which form the basis of his life. He is joined here by his dear wife Hadassah, who has been a great source of support and encouragement to the work of Lubavitch here, and to me and Chana personally; and by his mother, a woman who has probably given this generation of Jews one of its greatest gifts. So, if there's one thing I can say in introducing Senator Lieberman, it is this: That he has literally shattered the glass-ceiling of what one can achieve as "a frume yid", as an observant Jew. The respect and admiration that he receives on both sides of the aisle is an example in its own right. And as we, he and I, speak about this, he in his way, and I try in mine; what we want to do, is make the legacy of the Rebbe a living one by living the legacy. Ladies and gentlemen, Senator Joe Lieberman." [an ovation was given to Lieberman]
Excerpt of Lieberman speech:
"I am truly honored and sincerely humbled to have been asked to be part of this program, and I want to use this opportunity, first to really say a personal thank you, because, like those who spoke before me, and those who fill this magnificent hall tonight; I was touched by the Rebbe. I have memories that are so alive, and as Rebbi [Israel Meir] Lau [Chief Rabbi of Israel] said, I can see the smile; I can see the dept and beauty of the eyes. I remember going with Hadassah to receive a "bracha" [a blessing] before we were married. I remember going, wanting to go to visit the Rebbe, to ask for a "bracha" as the last step I took before flying from Connecticut, NY to Washington, to be sworn in as a United States Senator in January, 1989...."
He also recalled how, after being elected to an earlier office as attorney general of the state of Connecticut,
"...the Rebbe wrote me a letter which cited from Jeremiah: 'Seek the peace of your community [meaning only other Jews], the community in which you live, and in its peace and well being will you find your freedom.' I had pledged to myself that whenever I spoke to a Jewish group, I would stress this point and its concern about the division that is occurring within the Jewish community today among and between various denominations. Between those [Jews] who are religious and those [Jews] who are secular."
Much flattery language was expressed in those meetings, to the point that even the then U.S. Secretary of Education, Richard W. Riley ascribed Schneerson the honor of being one of the reasons for the establishment of the U.S. Department of Education. He said:
"..I owe my job to him and I join with millions around the world who owe so much to the Rebbe. These millions include the children of America. He was a strong champion of excellence in education not only in our religious schools, but in our public schools as well."
Curiously enough, among the youth in the Chabad Lubavitch movement itself, very few people achieve university degrees. Most of them dedicate their time to the study of Talmud, Tanya and other religious Jewish writings, -- secular literature and educational material is almost nonexistent in the Lubavitch "educational" institutions; they label it as "chukos hagoyim" [the statutes of the goyim], therefore, not worthy to dedicate any attention to them, and when they do, it is only to "learn" the difference between them and the "akum," -the "idolaters,"- and to be aware of their moral, intellectual and spiritual "superiority" over the rest of their world.
Women are definitely not encouraged or expected to pursue professional careers, they are trained since early infancy to be good yiddishe moms and to bear as many children as possible.
As for the alleged efforts on behalf of education and morality in the U.S. by Schneerson, we now proceed to engage in a deep analysis and scrutiny of the origin, nature and possible repercussions of this complicate and little known form of religious philosophy known as "Sheva Mitzvot Bnei Noach", or the Seven Commandments [given to] the Sons of Noah. We will see if this alleged "champion of education" did really deserve such a title, and if not, we will [with God's help] reveal the dark side of Menachem Mendel Schneerson and the Noahide Laws.
SOURCES FOR THE NOAHIDE LAWS

Sanhedrin 56a [compiled until the 6th century A.D.]:
"The Rabbis taught: [notice that by their own admission the Noahide Laws are of rabbinic origin] Seven commandments were prescribed to the sons of Noah:
(Concernin the establishment of) courts of law [Dinim].
(Concerning) blasphemy [Birkat Hashem].
(Concerning) idolatry [Avodah Zarah].
(Concerning) sexual illicit relations [Gilui Arayot].
(Concerning) bloodshed [Sh'fichut Damim].
(Concerning) robbery [Gazel].
And (Concerning) limb that has been torn from a living animal [Ever Min Ha-chai]."
** But there were dissenting opinions as to the actual number and nature of those "Noahide Laws" among the rabbis, as it can be read in Sanhedrin 56b:
"Rabbi Chanania ben Gamla says: Also from consuming blood from a living animal [Dam Min Ha-chai]. Rabbi Chidka says, also from castration [Seirus]. Rabbi Shim'on says, also from practicing sorcery [Kishuf]. Rabbi Yose says, Everything that is forbidden in the scriptural section concerning sorcery a son of Noah is warned about it [he then quotes Deut. 18:10-12]: "There must not be found among you anyone who passes his son or his daughter through the fire, or that practices divinations, an illusionist, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a medium, or a yid'oni [a wizard], or a necromancer", etc. "...And because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you." And [God] did not punish unless He had warned [first].
Rabbi Elazar says: Also from forbidden mixtures (hybridization [Kilayim]). Noahites are permitted to wear garments of mixed fabrics and to plant diverse seeds together; and they are forbidden only from mating an animal [of one species with another], and grafting trees of different kinds."
So here, we have not 7 laws, but at least 11; namely:
1. Courts of law
4. Sexual forbidden relations
7.Eating a limb that was cut from a living animal
8. Consumption of blood drawn from a living animal
9. Emasculation o Castration
10. Sorcery, Witchcraft
11. Hybridization of plants and/or animals
It is also interesting that Moses Maimonides, the reputed 12th-century legislator and codifier of Jewish law declared that Jewish law allows gentiles to consume blood drawn from a living animal, contradicting the talmudic dictum in tractate Sanhedrin 56b.
"[A gentile] is permitted to partake of blood drawn from a living animal." [Mishneh Torah, Laws of Kings and Their Wars chapter 9, rule 10]
But the matter didn't end there. To make the confusion greater, the Talmud [Sanhedrin 56b] relates that according to some rabbis from the respected academy of Menashe, two of the first mentioned seven laws -- that is, birkat Hashem [prohibition of blasphemy] and dinim [establishing courts of law that would enforce the obedience to the 6 other laws] were not part of the original list; instead they had seirus [castration], and kilayim [hybridization = forbidden mixtures]. The source reads:
"For a Tanna of the academy of Menashe taught: 'The children of Noah were commanded seven precepts:
- Concerning idolatry [Avodah Zarah]
- Concerning sexual forbidden relations [Gilui Arayot]
- Concerning bloodshed [Sh'fichut Damim]
- Concerning robbery [Gazel]
- Concerning eating a limb that was cut from a living animal [Ever Min Hachai]
- Concerning castration [Seirus]
- And concerning hybridization [Kilayim]'. "
In the midst of this sea of confusion we find that there were rabbis who didn't even think that gentiles were given 7 laws at all, for example Sanhedrin 56b relates that based on the expression in Gen. 2:16 that says: "And the Lord God commanded the man..." Rabbi Yehuda ruled that God prohibited to them only one thing, idolatry.
The talmudic statement reads:
"Rabbi Yehuda omer: Adam harishon lo nitztavah ela al avodah zarah bil'vad"
[translation:] "Rabbi Yehuda says: The first man was commanded concerning idolatry only".
In the same talmudic paragraph we notice that another rabbi, Yehuda ben Betera, a member of a distinguished family of rabbinic scholars added the prohibition of blasphemy, making them only two laws:
"Rabbi Yehuda ben Betera omer: af al birkat Hashem"
[translation:] "Rabbi Yehuda ben Betera says: Also from blaspheming the Name of God".
But then others jumped in and added dinim = courts of law:
"Ve-yesh omrim: af al hadinim"
[translation:] "And there are those who say: 'Also courts of law'".
Thus, as it can be seen, among the dissenting groups they acknowledged only up to 3 "noahide" laws and not 7.
Yet, this wasn't the end of the mess, for in the Jerusalem Talmud, tractate Avodah Zarah chapter 2, halacha 1, it is stated that Rav Huna applied the verse "So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver" [Zechariah 11:12], to mean that the Noahides were originally commanded not 3, or 7, or 11.., but 30 laws! In other words, the 30 pieces of silver in this verse were an allusion to the 30 Noahide laws given by God to the gentiles of the world.
The statement reads:
"For Rav Huna...stated in the name of Rav:
[the verse] 'So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver' (Zech. 11:12), refers to the thirty commandments that the Noahides accepted upon themselves."
The Babylonian Talmud, in tractate Chulin 92a also declares that Gentiles "received upon themselves" 30 noahide laws, but that they were able to fulfill only three, namely: They do not draw a k'tuva [a marriage contract] between males; they do not sell the carcass of a dead person in the markets, and they respect the Torah.
But finally, there was another talmudic statement concerning the number of "commandments" given to the "noahides" that renders all the above mentioned as a mere joke and void of value. It is found in the Jerusalem Talmud, tractate Avodah Zarah 2:1 that reads:
"Rav Chiya bar Luliani said in the name of rav Hoshayah:
'All the commandments [of the Torah, meaning the 613 laws contained in the Pentateuch] were the children of Noah commanded to accept upon themselves.'
What is the [Scriptural] evidence for that statement?
[the talmudic answer, which cites Zephaniah 3:9:] 'For then I will change the speech of the peoples to a pure language, [that they may all call upon the Name of the Lord, to serve Him with one accord]'.
--But in the end they [the Gentiles] are destined to retract [from the deal they allegedly made with God].
And what is the [Scriptural] evidence for that statement?
[the talmudic answer:] ["The kings of the earth take their stand and the princes conspire secretly, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying:] 'Let us cut their cords and let us cast off their ropes from ourselves.'" (Psalms 2:2). -- This [verse] refers to the commandment of wearing t'fillin [phylacteries, as stated in Deuteronomy 6:8], [and also] to the commandment of wearing tzitzit [fringes on one's garment, as stated in Numbers 15:37-41]".
Thus, according to this last statement, the "noahides" were even "commanded" to wear phylacteries on their heads and arms [t'fillin], as well as tassels in the corners of their garnments [tzitziyot]. Also, they were commanded concerning the dietary laws, the laws of ritual purity, the laws of abstaining from work on the seventh day, the laws of sacrifices, etc. etc. -- but they [the Talmud alleges] "maliciously" rejected the commandments of God, as it was allegedly proven in Psalms 2:2.
**Now, it is very important to pay especial attention to these declarations because they were made by rabbis who lived by the end of the Tannaitic period [2nd century of the Common Era], -- the time when the Noahide Laws where mentioned for the first time in Jewish sources.
The fact that these religious sophists who made-up the concept of noahism didn't agree -- neither in their number or nature -- proves that they just couldn't have come from God, otherwise no one would have argued at all concerning them; they would have been shown in Scripture in a plain and clear way, as it is the case of the Ten Commandments or the law of "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
God is a God of order, He doesn't need any weird interpretative method to make His will known to His creatures.
** The alleged "biblical proof" for the Noahide Laws is given in the Talmud, Tracatate Sanhedrin 56b. But Notice that the structure for the entire Noahide system is founded on a verse that has nothing to do with those seven laws or anything alike. They derived them from the words said in Genesis 2:16.
The source reads:
"From where are these rules [derived]?
[the talmudic answer:] Rabbi Yochanan said, Scripture states: "AND THE LORD GOD COMMANDED THE MAN SAYING: 'OF EVERY TREE OF THE GARDEN YOU MAY SURELY EAT' (Gen. 2:16)."
[based on an unbiased and simple reading of this verse, can anyone find 7 laws in it? Moreover, Noah wasn't even born when God gave this order to Adam; therefore these laws should have been labeled the "Adamite Laws," or something like that instead of the "Noahide Laws."
The truth is that Genesis 2:16 simply refers to an admonition to Adam against partaking from the "tree of knowledge of good an evil," as it is evidenced in the verses that precede and follow it.
The entire paragraph reads:
"Then the Lord God took the man and put him into the garden of Eden to cultivate it and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man saying: 'Of every tree of the garden you may surely eat; but from the tree of knowledge of good an evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die'."
But those ancient rabbis forced their particular hermeneutic principles of interpretation on this verse --specifically one known as gezeira shava, which works through a process of selecting same or similar words that are used in different scriptural verses and connecting them to each other in order to shed light to a particular difficult passage--.
In the case of Gen. 2:16 all they did is to play the gezeira shava game and they got it; they came up with 7 Noahide Laws to "civilize" the "goyim." Thus, for example, if Gen. 2:16 uses the word "saying" in "And the Lord God commanded the man saying...etc.", and the same word appears in Jeremiah 3:1 that reads: "Saying, 'If a man puts away his wife, and she goes from him, and becomes another man's...etc.", then the subject in Jeremiah 3:1 that deals with sexual immorality would explain and clarify the meaning of Gen. 2:16. In other words, the word "saying in Genesis forcefuly refers to sexual immorality, just as it is used in Jeremiah as a part of a sentence that deals with sexual immorality. They [the talmudic rabbis] understood it that way regardless of the obvious chronological, contextual and literary problems that this weird interpretation presents.
Yet, it doesn't take much effort or intelligence to realize that those two verses are not related to each other, but that they deal with totally different cases and circumstances.
Just consider this, Jeremiah lived thousands of years after Adam, and... how in the world was Adam supposed to know that many generations after him a man called Jeremiah would use the word "saying," and that he [Adam] had to understand "saying" as a reference to the prohibition against sexual forbidden acts? Not to mention the hundreds of times in the Bible where the word "saying" is also used and has nothing to do with matters related to sexual immorality. This, to say the least, is the ultimate example of a stretch of the biblical text.
But the irony here is that these Noahide Laws are said to come from God, when in reality they are the result of sheer rabbinic manipulations of the biblical text.]
We now continue reading the talmudic text in Sanhedrin 56b:
[The expression] "And [He] commanded" alludes to the establishment of Courts of Law [Dinim]; for so [Scripture in Gen. 18:19] says: "For I know him that he will command his children [and his household after him, that they may keep the way of the Lord, to do righteousness and justice]."
"The Lord" alludes to blasphemy [Birkat Hashem], for so [Scripture in Lev. 24:16] says: "And he who curses the Name of the Lord shall certainly be put to death."
"God" alludes to idolatry [Avodah Zarah], for so [Scripture in Ex. 20:3] says: "You shall have no other gods [before Me]."
"Upon the man" alludes to bloodshed [Sh'fichut Damim], for so [Scripture in Gen. 9:6] says: "Whoever sheds the blood of a man [by a man his blood shall be shed]."
"Saying" alludes to illicit sexual relations [Gilui Arayot], for so [Scripture in Jer. 3:1] says: "Saying, 'If a man puts away his wife, and she goes from him, and become another man's, [can he return to her again?']."
"Of every tree of the garden" -- But not that which was stolen [i.e., fruits stolen from other trees = Gazel (robbery)].
"You may surely eat" -- But not a limb from a living animal" [ = Ever min ha-chai].
[notice that for the two last prohibitions there is no Scriptural reference, and the reason is because the rabbis didn't find a verse in the entire Hebrew Bible that uses either "of every tree of the garden" or "you may surely eat" that could be connected with the ideas of stealing or the abstention of eating a limb that was torn from a living animal.]
EXPOSING THE NOAHIDE LAWS
** The nature and implications of the Noahide Laws are explained in the Mishneh Torah, or "Yad Hachazaka" which is one of the main codes of Jewish law, written by Maimonides, who is also known as "the Rambam".
In one of the Mishneh Torah's divisions, Hilchot M'lachim Umilchamoteihem [Laws of the Kings and their Wars], Maimonides ruled that only through the obedience of the Noahide Laws Gentiles can be considered "righteous", worthy to be respected by Jews and will deserve eternal life after death. Those who reject them would not only be punished in this life, but will also suffer the consequences in the afterlife. The only resource for a non-Jew, and his only hope lies within the boundaries of the Seven Noahide Laws. Gentiles must believe that these laws come from God, and that they have the obligation to abide by them.
Furthermore according to rabbinic tradition, it is the obedience to the Noahide Laws that separate a non-Jew from the beasts, as it is stated in the introduction of the Sefer Hachinuch (The Book of [Jewish] Education), written in the 16th century by Rabbi Aharon of Barcelona.
"Thus, one portion of mankind was chosen, and this is Israel, the fewest of all peoples. And blessed be the Lord who knows that they are the choice part of the human race [Are we dealing here with some form of racist supremacy?], who selected them to be called 'His people' and gave them all the principles of wisdom. Yet, to the rest of humanity He also gave a pathway to separate them from the beasts, and these are the seven commandments which were altogether ordered to all the people of the world." [Based on this statement, billions of people in the world who do not "obey" the Noahide Laws, as they are prescribed in the rabbinic codes are regarded as mere "beasts" by those who endorse the noahic regulations; particularly those in the Chabad Lubavitch movement. And we can ascertain that Menachem Schneerson was not the exception.]
As for Jesus, he plays no positive role in this tradition, but on the contrary, he and his deeds represent what a noahide should not be and the way a noahide should not act.
Salvation through faith is nonexistent; indeed, it is viewed as a concept that ought to be eradicated; --The main thing--, as Schneerson used to say, is "the deed". In other words, Gentiles achieve salvation through works..., that is, a blind obedience to Jewish rabbinic law. This is confirmed in the Mishneh Torah, Laws of Kings chapter 8, rule 11 -- that says:
"Anyone who receives upon himself these seven commandments and is precise in their observance - he is [counted] among the righteous among the the nations of the world, and he has a share in the World to Come."
** In the same paragraph Maimonides adds that it is not enough to accept them "intellectually", or because they "make sense":
"And he, [the Gentile, would be considered "righteous"] only when he receives them and puts them in practice because the Holy One, blessed be He, commanded them in the Torah, and informed us through Moses, our teacher, that even previously, the sons of Noah were commanded to fulfill them. But, if he fulfills them out of intellectual conviction, he is not a resident alien [a non-Jew who is allowed to live among Jews], and not one of the righteous from the nations of the world [in other words, he is nothing but a wicked "goy"], nor of their wise men [but a fool]."
1st Law - 'Dinim' - [The establishment of Courts of Law]:
**In an excerpt taken from the Chabad Lubavitch in Ciberspace website (that quotes the book "The Path of the Righteouss Gentile" by Chaim Clorfene and Yaakov Rogalsky, chapter 11, part one [p. 101]) we read:
"The children of Noah are commanded to establish courts of law that will carry out justice and maintain human righteousness and morality in accord with the Seven Universal Laws. A court system that perverts justice by handing down rulings in conflict with the Seven Universal Laws is an instrument for driving God's blessings out of the world. Anyone who fails to establish a court system, that is, who lives in a community or city in which there are no courts [to enforce the Noahide Laws], and does nothing to correct the situation, is punishable by death. One who establishes or maintains courts of law that operate contrary to the Seven Universal Laws is also liable to the death penalty."
** This is based in the Mishneh Torah, in Laws of Kings chapter 8, rule 9 that says:
"For every Gentile who does not accept the commandments given to the sons of Noah must be executed if he is under our [undisputed] authority."
In the same chapter, rule 10 we read:
"And so, Moses was commanded by the mouth of the Almighty to coerce all the inhabitants of the world to receive the laws that were ordered to the sons of Noah; and anyone who does not accept them should be executed!"
[This was one of Schneerson's favorite statements, for he used to quote it repeatedly in almost every discourse where he would adress the matters related to the non-Jewish world]
Rabbi Yom Tov Lipmann Heller (1579-1654), better know as the Tosafot Yom Tov; in his commentary on the Mishnah, tractate Pirkei Avot 1:14, stressed out that the Noahide Laws ought to be imposed on the "goyim" by all means, -- even throug violence.
The excerpt reads:
" [R. Akiva said:] 'Beloved is man, for he was created in the image [of God]. It is a sign of abundant love that it was made known to him that he was created in the image [of God], for it is said: 'In the image of God He made man'."
[Tosafot Yom Tov]:
" [based on this statement, R. Akiva] has brought morality to the entire world, as we have been commanded by Moses [concerning the enforcement of the Noahide Laws upon the non-Jewish people]. And since we were commanded to coerce by the edge of the sword [to the obedience of the Noahide Laws], with killing and destruction, how much more are we commanded to use the force of words."
Similarly, Menachem Schneerson, the "lover of humanity" declared:
"The death penalty is given to the goy if he merely refuses to accept the seven Noahide Laws, because this would be an outright breach of the entire reason of these commandments; that is, to accept God's sovereignty." [Likutei Sichot 26:140]
He also implied in Likutei Sichot 26:135-6 that this law applies even in the current era, but he lamented the fact that the Jews don't have the means to enforce it.
[how happy Schneerson would have been if the judicial applications of the Noahide Laws had been enforced during his lifetime, and not only in American lands but also in the entire world. He really longed to see the day when the penalties for the violation of any of these rabbinical laws were excerted on anyone who wantonly would choose to ignore the "decrees of the Almighty," i.e., the Noahide Laws.
We also read in the Mishneh Torah, Hilchot Milah [Laws of Circumcision] chapter 1, rule 6:
"[A Jew who] acquires a grown-up slave from the akum [the word akum is an acronym for the Hebrew phrase "ovdei kochavim u-mazalot," meaning, "servants of the stars and constellations" -- an euphemism for "idol-worshippers." Akum is the term used to describe every Gentile who does not abide by the Noahide Laws as prescribed in the codes of Jewish law... Christians included] and he [the Gentile slave] doesn't want to be circumcised, we may have patience on him for a period of twelve months. But more than this, it is forbidden to keep him for any longer period while he remains uncircumcised; but rather he should be sold to another akum.
If at the outset, while the slave was still in possession of his idolater master and [the master] determines that he would not be circumcised [and the slave wishes to live among Jews], it is permissible [for a Jew] to accept him, eventhough he is an "arel" [an uncircumcised male], but only if he accepts the seven commandments ordered to the sons of Noah, and he would become a "ger toshav" [a Gentile who is allowed to live among Jews, i.e., a "resident alien"]. But if he doesn't receive upon himself the seven laws, he should be killed immediately!"
** What form of execution is applied to those who fail to receive and obey these Noahide laws? The answer is given in the Mishneh Torah, Laws of Kings, chapter 9, rule 14:
"A Noahide who transgresses any of these seven laws shall be executed by the sword [Heb. "Yehareg be-sayif" i.e., decapitation]."
In chapter 10, rule 5 of the same work we read:
"As we have explained that the form of execution to be inflicted to a Noahide is [always] by decapitation."
The Talmud, tractate Sanhedrin 56b unequivocally states that:
"Every death penalty inflicted to the Noahides is only by decapitation."
A footnote in the Moznaim edition of the Mishneh Torah, that comments on this statement declares: "In contrast to a Jew, a gentile offender is executed for the violation of even the slightest mitzvah [noahide regulation] ...gentiles are required to maintain a stable and orderly world."
*Ask yourself, if the Noahide Laws would ever be enforced in the world [which is a foolish guess, because people are not that stupid to even consider being ruled by such nonsense]; how many thousands of human beings would die every day throughout the planet for having broken any of these tyranic laws? To begin with, the first victims of the carnage would be the followers of every religion that falls in the category of "idolatry," which is the third noahic prohibition in the talmudic list of Sanhedrin 56a, --Christianity included --.

The next in line would be the millions of homosexuals from all walks of life, as well as those who commit what under noahide legislation are considered "sexual crimes," whom also would be counted by the multitudes. [This will be fully explained below].
The "blasphemers" too, would taste the edge of the sword. All those whom out of rage or just for being used to it, pronounce "unacceptable" statements either against God or the rabbis who "represent His authority on earth."
Then, every person who is caught stealing, no matter if he stole a minimum quantity of money, property, or millions that belong to another person or institution. They would also be executed by the sword: -- Off with their heads!
The murderers and others who for some reason have to take the life of another person, as well as those who practice abortions and the ones who have them; they would not be sent to jail, because their final destiny would be the gallows. And according to noahic law, they would be executed based on the testimony of one single witness, -- no need of an elaborate trial that would cost resources to a noahide government.
Even a community where there are no noahide courts of law in charge to enforce the blind adherence to the six other laws, is to be wiped from the face of the earth, as it has been previously stated.
And last, but not least, those who would choose to eat meat while the source from where it was taken had the minimum sign of life, as it is the custom of certain peoples in the Far East, who prefer to eat fish while it is still alive, because --as they say-- this is the most fresh kind of meat; therefore they like to eat it that way.
They too, would have their heads cercenated by the noahide courts of law.
All these people... all these miserable people.. all of them killed for transgressing the Noahide Laws. No mercy, no compassion; just the adherence to the strict letter of the Law..., the Noahide Laws.

** At this point we may wonder, who would be in charge of enforcing this kind of legislation?
The answer: Since most rabbinic authorities regard the Noahide laws as a form of extension of Jewish law for non-Jews, they take it as their responsibility to set the criteria for such legislation. This, involves not only the delineation of the rules that would govern the behavior of the "noahide" --as it is demonstrated in the dozens of ramifications taken from the original seven laws--, but also involves the punishment for the transgression of these laws.
According to Maimonides, when the Gentile court system fails to apply the penalties that convey the infringement of the Noahide laws, it is incumbent upon the Jewish courts to take a direct action, to get involved.
This, he derived from Genesis 34, where the rape of Dinah, Jacob's daughter by Shechem, a Canaanite prince is described. Accordingly, as "Noahides", the people of Schechem were responsible to execute their prince for the crimes committed against Dina; namely, abduction and rape, which fall into the category of gazel (robbery). But when they failed to carry out the execution, they themselves were liable to the death penalty because they transgressed the positive commandment concerning the establishment of courts of law ["dinim"], so two of Jacob's sons [Shimeon and Levi], took the law into their own hands and orchestrated a systematic mass-killing, wiping out the entire population of Shechem.
This set up a precedent that would determine the level of involvement of the Jewish criminal system in noahide affairs. And so, lawfulness becomes something which Jews impose on non-Jews.
That Jewish courts would be in charge of applying punishment on the Gentiles who do not act in compliance to the tenets of the Noahic regulations [in the event that the gentile noahide courts fail to act] is evident in the following example.
Mishneh Torah, Laws of Kings chapter 10, rule 9 states:
"And so, a Gentile who rests, even on a weekday, observing that day as a Sabbath -- is liable to the death penalty; and needles to say, [he is liable] if he creates a religious festival for himself.
The general principle governing these matters is: They are not to be allowed to originate a new religion or create new commandments based on their own decisions. But either, they become righteous converts [to Judaism] and accept all the commandments, or retain their [own] law [the Noahide Laws] without adding or detracting from them. And if he engages in Torah-study, makes a Sabbath, or creates a [religious] practice, a Jewish court should beat him, punish him, and inform him that he is liable to the death penalty."
Interestingly, Nachmanides, in his commentary on Gen. 34: 13 disagreed with Maimonides' position on what constitutes Dinim. He did not limit it to the enforcement of the six other laws, but included civil matters into it:
"In my opinion, the commandment to establish courts of law enjoined upon the descendants of Noah in their seven commandments not only includes the requirement of maintaining judges in every district, but they were also commanded [to rule] on matters related to theft and over-reaching, extortion, and the payment of wages, bailees, rape and seduction, torts and personal injuries, loans and commercial transactions, and those similar to them just as the laws that were given to Israel."
2nd Law 'Birkat Hashem' - (The prohibition of Blasphemy).
** Maimonides, in his Mishneh Torah, Laws of Idolatry chapter 2, rule 6 determined that the acceptance of the existence of any god apart from the God of Israel falls in the category of blasphemy; and we can be sure that the Christian dogma of the deity of Jesus is alluded here, for although Christian theology does not consider Jesus as a "second god," but the manifestation of God in the flesh, in the Noahic tradition Jesus is seen as a false god, therefore this belief would be deemed as a religious crime and its adherents prosecuted, as the text explains:
"Anyone who accepts idolatry as true [Christianity, as we shall see, was considered an "idolatrous religion" by Maimonides and by the Lubavitcher rebbe], even if he does not [actually] worship it, such a person disgraces and blasphemes the glorious and awesome Name [of God].
This applies both to one who practices idolatry and to one who curses God's Name, as it is said: "But the person commits [an act of idolatry]in a defiant way, whether he is a native or a proselyte, he is blaspheming the Name [of the Lord]."
Therefore, the idolater is to be hanged, just as the blasphemer has to be hanged. Both of them are executed by being stoned to death. And because of this, I have included the laws that apply to the blasphemer in the [section of the Mishneh Torah that deals with the] Laws of Idolatry; for the two of them deny the fundamental principles of [the faith]."
** Not only the belief in Jesus Christ falls into the category of blasphemy, but other Christian dogmas, such as the enmity between Satan and God are included, as it can be read in an excerpt from the Chabad Lubavitch in Ciberspace website:
"The teaching in Christian theology that the evil force rebelled against the Lord and set up a separate kingdom is tantamount to blasphemy, for it denigrates the Creator and denies His infinite majesty."
** Another curious fact related to the prohibition of blasphemy is that according to authoritative rabinic sources, those who take lightly or mock at the statements of the Jewish rabbis, no matter how ridiculous, or how contrary to human reason they may be (such as the one in tractate Gittin 69b, where the rabbis' medical advice for the cure of catarrh is to knead the excrement of a white dog with balsam and eat it) deserve to die "by the hands of heaven," and after the transgressor dies he will be punished in hell in boiling excrement.
This is well explained in the Talmud, tractate Eruvin 21b that reads:
"My son, be admonished [to obey] the words of the Scribes more than the words of the Torah, for in the words of the Torah there are positive and negative commandments [and the penalties for their transgression vary], But as to the ennactments of the Scribes, whoever transgresses the ennactments of the Scribes deserves death.
Perhaps you may say: If there is substance in their words, why were they not written [together with the rest of Scriptures]?'

Rav Pappa, the son of Rav Acha bar-Adda said in the name of Rav Acha bar-Ulla: 'This teaches that anyone who mocks at the words of the sages, his punishment [will be] in boiling excrement'."
** According to another tracatate of the Talmud, this is what happened to Jesus, who for being "irrespectful" to the manners of the rabbis, was condemned and punished in such a horrendous way.
"Onkelos, the son of Kalonikus, the son of Titus' sister wanted to convert [to Judaism]. He went and raised Titus [from hell] by means of necromancy. He asked him: 'Who is esteemed in that world?' [ i.e., 'What is your punishment in hell?'] He replied: 'What he decreed for himself [he speaks in third person, meaning 'what I decreed for myself']; every day his [i.e., 'my']<
Melakhim, ch. 9, 10). One additional element of greater severity is that violation of any one of the seven laws

Understanding the Golden Calf
How could the generation which witnessed the Ten Plagues and
received the Torah make a Golden Calf? In a lecture delivered
this week in 5733/1973, R' Yaakov Yitzchak Halevi Ruderman z"l
(see page 4) answered this question as follows:
The midrash says: "It was good that our ancestors said,
'Na'aseh ve'nishmah.' Was it good that they said [about the Calf
(Shemot 32:4)], 'Aileh/These are your gods, Israel'?" It would
seem, observed R' Ruderman, that making the Calf was more than
just wrong. In some respect, the making of the Calf stood in
particular contrast to Bnei Yisrael's calling out "Na'aseh
A similar contrast is highlighted by the gemara (Berachot 32b)
in interpreting the verse (Yishayah 49:15), "Can a woman forget
her baby, or not feel compassion for the child of her womb? Even
'aileh'/these may forget, but 'Anochi'/I would not forget you."
The gemara says (as if quoting Hashem), "I will forget the sin of
'Aileh/These [are your gods, Israel],' but I will never forget
that you accepted the Torah [beginning with 'Anochi/I am Hashem']
at Sinai." How does the making of the Calf stand in contrast to
Bnei Yisrael's acceptance of the Torah?
Two introductory points are necessary. First: Ramban, Kuzari
and other early commentaries explain that only a small part of
the nation viewed the Golden Calf as an idol. Most of the Jewish
people were seeking only an intermediary who would represent G-
d's presence on earth. This was the role in which the people had
seen Moshe before his "disappearance" on Har Sinai. The prophet
Yechezkel teaches that Hashem's "Throne" is adorned with four
images: the face of a man, the face of an ox, the face of an
eagle and the face of a lion. Thus, when the people thought that
Moshe had been taken from them, they thought it would be
permitted to make one of the other images on G-d's "Throne" as a
reminder of G-d's presence.
Second: what was the significance of the statement, "Na'aseh
ve'nishmah"/ "We will do and we will hear"? It meant that,
unlike the nations that refused to accept the Torah without
knowing its contents, Bnei Yisrael accepted the Torah
wholeheartedly and unconditionally. It was equivalent to saying,
"We have no thoughts or concerns except for the Torah. There is
no room in our hearts or in our world for anything but Hashem and
Bnei Yisrael attained a very high level by saying "Na'aseh
ve'nishmah." Measure-for-measure, just as Bnei Yisrael declared
that no part of their hearts, minds and beings would be devoid of
Hashem's Torah, so Hashem was prepared to leave no part of the
world devoid of His presence. But, by saying, "Na'aseh
ve'nishmah," Bnei Yisrael set a high standard that they had to
live up to. Thereafter, it was inappropriate for Bnei Yisrael to
seek an intermediary to "represent" G-d; He was already as close
to them as could be!
R' Ruderman concluded: from the above explanation we can learn
an important lesson about how to study Tanach. We read in Tanach
about the sins of great people (e.g., King David with Batsheva),
and we wonder how they could commit sins that few of us would
commit. Now we know, however, that when a great person slips and
does not live up to the high standard that he has set for
himself, the Torah judges him very harshly. As we have seen,
because Bnei Yisrael failed to realize Hashem's closeness to
them, it is considered as if they committed idolatry. On our
lowly level, Bnei Yisrael's failing would not be considered a sin
at all! Similarly, because King David's sin, as subtle as it
really was, was beneath him, the prophet describes the incident
as if King David committed adultery.
(Sichot Halevi p. 94)
The gemara (Berachot 32a) says: "Moshe spoke forcefully to
Hashem. He said, 'It was the gold and the silver that You gave
Bnei Yisrael that led them to make the Calf'!"
R' Yaakov Moshe Lessin z"l (mashgiach ruchani at Yeshivat
Rabbenu Yitzchak Elchanan/Yeshiva University after 1939)
explains: One who wants to become a complete person must know
that the Torah's expectations cannot be measured with the same
"ruler" that we use in our every day affairs. Rather, the
Torah's expectations are far loftier than our thoughts can grasp.
Thus, when Moshe said, "It was the gold and the silver that You
gave Bnei Yisrael that led them to make the Calf," he was
expressing a very subtle point. Indeed, the sin of the Golden
Calf was so subtle that the early commentaries struggle to
pinpoint exactly what it was. Similarly, we are taught, the
angels asked Hashem, "Why did you decree that man should die?"
Notwithstanding the simplistic way in which Adam and Chava's sin
is told in the Torah, the sin was in fact so minute and so subtle
that the angels did not know what it was.
Chazal teach that even the Jews' maidservants experienced a
greater revelation at the splitting if the Yam Suf/Red Sea than
the prophet Yechezkel experienced at the height of his career.
Nevertheless, man's nature is such that if he stops focusing even
for a moment on his spiritual and intellectual pursuits, he can
quickly develop a small, but dark, stain on his soul which can
later spread. Thus it was possible that only hours after the
great revelation at the Sea, Bnei Yisrael were so drawn to the
booty that washed out of the Yam Suf that they refused to leave
and travel on to Har Sinai (see Rashi to Shemot 15:22).
This was Moshe's complaint to Hashem: The stain on their souls
that allowed them to make the Golden Calf developed from that
time at the Sea when You gave them gold and silver. Those riches
distracted them from their spiritual pursuits long enough that a
Golden Calf became possible.

Now, if you were to take a survey among the experts, you are likely to get a variety of opinions regarding how to approach contemporary Jewish outreach, how to break the ice and get to the point: "Moshiach is about to come any moment! What can you and I do right now to prepare?" Convincing arguments could be put forth in support of a number of conflicting views concerning how to best get this message across, but in the following address, the Rebbe tells us - in no uncertain terms - how it is really to be done:

EGYPT: A BIG NUT TO CRACK
In the time when the Jews were enslaved to Pharaoh, there was a tremendous amount of hidden good, holy energies trapped within the borders of Egypt.(USA) After Egypt (USA)had been demolished by the Ten Plagues, the Jews finally made their way out. Egypt(USA) was left broken and gutted, void of anything of value, as the Sages say, "like the deep waters where there are no fish," for the Jewish people took with them an incredible amount of wealth, an abundance of good things to be used for a good and holy purpose (such as the building of the Sanctuary). With the Ten Plagues, G-d shattered Egypt, rendering its energies openly accessible to the Jewish people.
The West Nile disease
The first of the Ten Plagues the Alm-ghty (Emulated by Satan) brought upon Egypt was the Plague of Blood - G-d turned the water of the Nile into blood. This plague, of course, was no mere illusion; it was a real threat to the Egyptians,(USA) as the Nile (Misquitos) was their primary source of drinking water and irrigation. In fact, to the Egyptians,(USA) the attack on the Nile was an attack on their very being, for they saw the Nile as their source of life - to the point that they actually worshipped it. In order to make it very clear who is the true Source of Life, G-d hit them with the Plague of Blood.
As the Torah is no mere storybook, but a guide to teach us how to live our lives, we must understand what we are meant to learn from this story, from the fact that G-d first struck out at the waters of the Nile with the Plague of Blood.
WARMING UP TO MOSHIACH

The Evil Inclination (Christian) puts all of its effort into cooling a Jew off, G-d forbid, turning him off of G-dliness and on to foolishness. To fend off this attack, we must not get tangled in a debate with the Evil Inclination (Dialectics with Christians) - for when you wrestle with a dirty guy, you are bound to get yourself messed up, as well. Rather, we must counter with the same artillery used against Egypt: warming ourselves up to matters of holiness. We must take our belief in Moshiach - that any second the long-awaited Messianic King will come and lead us to the true and complete Redemption - and be bold enough to share this with a friend. A Preface to
Moshiach: Setting the Record Straight
Good evening, this is Dovid Shalom Pape. We’re here to talk about Moshiach, Geula, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Torah reality.
In the past few weeks, people have been speaking about the issue of Moshiach, and topics have been aired that need to be clarified. And so we’re here tonight to continue the discussion and throw some light on important issues about Moshiach and Geula purely from a Torah perspective.
We have in the studio Rabbi Shloma Majeski, dean of Machon Chana Women’s Institute. We’re on the line with Rabbi Sholom Ber Kalmanson, shliach of the Lubavitcher Rebbe in southern Ohio. And we have Rabbi Heschel Greenberg also with us. A gutt voch, everybody.
Rabbi Majeski, I would like to address the first question to you. What makes you feel, after all that has been said, that tonight these issues must be addressed again?
Rabbi Majeski: The subject of Moshiach and Geula is a very important and relevant subject. But there’s a lot of confusion, because of a lack of knowledge. Even Torah scholars who are knowledgeable in other areas of Torah are unfortunately ignorant on this subject, simply because they never studied this subject from Torah sources. People have ideas that come from feelings, emotions, or hearsay. In fact, in most yeshivos it is not part of the curriculum to study the Torah sources about Moshiach.
Many times, people have preconceived ideas. When they see a Torah source that says something different from what they believe, they actually think of how they can interpret the Torah source so that it will be consistent with their preconceived ideas.
Therefore, we are here tonight to discuss the Torah sources on Moshiach. The topic of Moshiach is just like kashrus and Shabbos - a major part of Judaism. We have to know what the Torah says about this topic. In fact, one of the first directives of the Rebbe, in Parshas Tazria-Metzora in Seifer HaSichos of 5741, is that we should make shiurim to study the subject of Moshiach and Redemption from Torah sources. And when you study the Torah sources - Torah is light, and the confusion is gone.
Rabbi Pape: Thank you Rabbi Majeski. Rabbi Kalmanson, are you there?
Rabbi Kalmanson: Yes, I am. I do want to start before we get into the program, if you can permit me for a moment.
I think the Torah says that the disciples of a Rebbe have to stand up for the kavod, for the honor and prestige, of that Rebbe. Since this is a response to discussions that have taken place before on these very same airwaves, I think that it is incumbent on us to express a machaa and protest the words of an individual like Dr. Berger (and I know not any credentials this man has whatsoever in dealing with the matter of Moshiach and Geula to become an expert on this kind of issue).
To me, his entire book seemed to have been written from a Christian perspective, very, very far from the derech ha’Torah, and therefore, he owes an apology to all of world Jewry, not only to Chabad. He has only brought separation and division among the Jewish people. And yes, it is true that anyone who brings separation and division among Jews can become a leader, and if that’s what he is trying to achieve, ach and vei is to him.
We have to remember that although his title is "doctor," people will not consider him a medical physician, and therefore, I say the same thing: because he has a pen in his hand and found a publisher for his book, it does not make him an expert on this particular issue.
Chabad over the years has lived through Communism and other difficult issues, and I’m sure that we will withstand this problem, as well. The Torah says that anyone who is megaleh panim in Torah sh’lo k’halacha (anyone who brings down issues of Torah against Torah law)... I don’t want to conclude what it says, but anyone can open up Pirkei Avos (The Ethics of our Fathers) and see what it says about an individual like that.
I guarantee that it would be easier to convince him and thousands like him to convert to Christianity than it would be to find and convince one Chabad chassid to drink chalav akum.
The Rambam, in Hilchos Melachim, Perek Yud Alef (Laws of Kings, ch. 11) writes about Yoshke that although he did what he did, he has helped pave the way for Moshiach. That credit I will give to Dr. Berger; thanks to what he is doing now, people are becoming more interested in the topic of Moshiach, and perhaps he will help clarify the issue so people will know what the issues of Moshiach and Geula are, perhaps, thanks to tonight’s program and to other programs in the future.
I just want to conclude that the only truth in Dr. Berger’s book seems to be the fact that he writes that every Chabadnik, regardless of who he is, believes in Moshiach and believes everything we were taught in the holy books all through the ages about what Moshiach is, who Moshiach is, and the fact that we have to wait for his coming literally today.
Rabbi Pape: Rabbi Majeski, can you tell us some introductory information about what constitutes Moshiach in Jewish belief?
Rabbi Majeski: First of all, Moshiach is one of the Yud-Gimmel Ikarim, one of the 13 basic principles of Jewish belief. As the Rambam (Maimonides) says, there are 13 principles, and all of Judaism is based on them. One is the belief in Hashem, one is the belief in Torah, and one is the belief in the coming of Moshiach.
There are two parts to the belief in Moshiach. One is the belief in the era of Redemption, and the other is the belief in the person - that there will be a person, Moshiach, who will lead us to the Redemption. The Rambam says that believing in the era and not in the person is heresy.
In Hilchos Melachim (Laws of Kings), chapters 11 and 12, the Rambam discusses the era and the person. The era is when there will be spiritual and physical bliss - no hunger, no poverty, and no wars. Moshiach is a person who will bring the creation of the world back to its complete and perfect way. The Malchus Beis Dovid (the Kingdom of King David) will be restored, the Jewish people will all be brought back from all over the world to the land of Israel, the Beis HaMikdash will be rebuilt, and all the mitzvos will be observed by all the Jewish people - not only the mitzvos we’ve been observing throughout the Galus (the exile), but all 613 commandments. That’s what Moshiach will accomplish.
Rabbi Pape: Rabbi Majeski, if that is the era of Moshiach, I’d like to turn to Rabbi Greenberg now. Rabbi Greenberg, could you please summarize for us how Maimonides summarizes and describes the person of Moshiach, how we will recognize him, what is he supposed to do. What are his credentials, so to speak?
Rabbi Greenberg: Rambam (Maimonides) makes it very clear what Moshiach has to do to demonstrate that he has the capacity to bring about the Redemption. The whole concept of Redemption in Judaism is not just a redemption from suffering and hardship, but it’s about bringing the Jewish people back to the state of existence the way it was before we were exiled, before we were driven out of Israel, and before the Temple was destroyed. In other words, Moshiach is going to restore the integrity of the Jewish people and the integrity of Torah and all of its commandments.
Since we were driven out of Israel, it’s been impossible to fulfill all of our requirements because of impediments that are a result of living in the Diaspora. As a result of certain [halachic] legal impediments, we can’t build the Temple, we can’t offer the sacrifices, we can’t observe the Sabbatical and Jubilee years, and so on and so forth.
Moshiach’s role is to restore the integrity of Torah, to make Torah the way it was intended to be. Since that is his goal, Moshiach has to be a living example and a personification of Torah ideals.
The Rambam presents the qualifications in a very clear way. Moshiach has to be a leader. Moshiach has be somebody who is steeped in the knowledge of Torah, who is totally committed to the observance of Torah and its commandments. If he were not totally committed to that, it would be the most obvious invalidation of his status of Moshiach.
Besides the fact that he has to be a descendant of King David, Moshiach has to work and devote his life and energy to bring all the Jewish people back on the path of observance of Torah and all it’s commandments. Moshiach has to fight against all of the evil - to fight the wars of G-d. The Rambam uses that expression, which is a very broad term that means to fight against all those obstacles that stand in the way of all the Jewish people observing the commandments, and [against] the impediments to the subsequent building of the Temple.
So Moshiach’s role, in short, is to restore the integrity of Torah to the Jewish people. When he succeeds in doing these things, he is to be presumed - he is to be considered - to be the Moshiach. That doesn’t mean the Redemption has actually begun. That means that in exile, Moshiach has demonstrated his qualifications, his eligibility, if you will, and his worthiness of being the Moshiach. The next stage - as Rabbi Majeski referred to it as the era of the Redemption itself - is when he actually brings an end to the exile by rebuilding the Temple, gathering all the Jewish people, bringing them back to Israel, and ushering in an age of universal peace.
He doesn’t have to do all these things to prove that he is Moshiach, because he is already presumed to be Moshiach when he starts to do them. The next stage is when he completes the task and changes the status from exile to Redemption.
Rabbi Pape: If I can summarize, one point among the many points you were making is that in the first stage, Moshiach will be here. We’ll have the existence of Moshiach, and yet we will still be in exile.
Rabbi Greenberg: Absolutely. Moshiach is not synonymous with Redemption. Those two terms are interconnected, but not synonymous. "Moshiach" means the person who is anointed (meaning designated by G-d), the Jewish leader who will take the Jews out of exile and bring about the age of Redemption. But before he does that, he has to be a human being born into the world at the time of exile, and he has to live within the conditions of the exile. He has to be a leader when exile is still very much the fact of life and the reality. Moshiach works within exile to change it, to bring about a transformation of all the negative things by education, by promoting the values and the ideals of Judaism in the most prominent way.
When he succeeds in demonstrating that he is the Moshiach, the next step, the second stage, is when he receives the G-d-given ability to rebuild the Third Temple, to gather the Jews to Israel, and to usher in an age of universal peace. Moshiach is already Moshiach, and he functions as Moshiach, in the period of exile.
This is analogous to Moshe Rabbeinu, the first redeemer of the Jewish people. When did he become the redeemer? When did he get that title, if he had to call himself by the title of redeemer of Israel? When he stood at the burning bush and G-d told him, "Go to Pharaoh and tell him, ‘Let my people go so that they may serve me.’" Moses, when he finally accepted that role (he was reluctant at first, but he finally accepted it), was the Goel Yisroel. He was the proclaimed redeemer of the Jewish people.
Before there was any relaxation of the slavery, before Moshe even spoke to Pharaoh, and even after he spoke to Pharaoh, the Jews were still in exile and things got even worse. Even after the plagues began, they were still in exile. Not until the day we now celebrate as Passover did the Jewish people finally leave Egypt. That was the redemption. But Moses was proclaimed the leader, the Moshiach, if you will, before the redemption even began. There was a redeemer, a leader of the Jewish people in exile, paving the way and doing the things that had to be done to prepare the Jewish people and the rest of the world for the period of redemption.
The same is true of Moshiach.
Rabbi Kalmanson: If I may add, there are sources throughout Torah, but I’m just going to mention the Netzach Yisroel, the Maharal of Prague, who bases this comment on the verse, "Kimei tzeis’cha m’Eretz Mitzrayim": The redemption to come is a reflection of the redemption that already took place. He writes that the redemption to come is going to be a 40-year natural process - from the time that Moshiach starts displaying his qualifications, which Rabbi Greenberg described. This is a task that is going to take him at least a 40-year period. It’s not that someone is going to show up one fine morning and say, "I’m Moshiach," and tomorrow there’s going to be a redemption. As Rabbi Greenberg pointed out, it’s going to be process - a 40-year process - for the individual to do all these things. So the fact that there is an individual who functions and is preparing to show the world his credentials, does not mean that Redemption has taken place yet.

...The Arizal said that every generation haws a great Tzaddik that will be Moshiach when Hashem decides it's the right time. In Gan Eden, there is a special Neshama - "Moshiach's Neshama". Hashem will place this Neshama into the Tzaddik. Then, only the Tzaddik will know that he is Moshiach. When the time will come to take us out of Golus, then he will reveal himself to everyone.
The Ten Plagues of the World
... Moshiach is compared to Moshe Rabbeinu? How? The Sfas Emes explains: Moshe Rabbeinu first came to the Jews to tell them that Hashem will take them out of Mitzrayim (Egypt). Then a long while later, (after the 10 plagues, and Pessach sacrifice...) he reappeared and actually led them out. So too, first Moshiach will appear and announce "The time of your redemption has arrived". Then he will reappear and actually take us out of Golus.
Exile....what exile? I did not know the Jews which run Washington DC and who control all Banks and the Federal Reserve and the Internal Revenue Service....were in exile?
"Maybe he went to the Large Bais Din [to proclaim Moshiach's
imminent arrival] (which means he came, but we just don't know about it
"WHAT DIFFICULTY?! FORGET ABOUT THE DIFFICULTY! WE DON'T MIND THE DIFFICULTY! PLEASE .... JUST BRING MOSHIACH ALREADY AND PUT AN END TO THIS LONG AND DIFFICULT EXILE!"
It was the same way in Egypt as well. As G-d Himself went from Egyptian house to Egyptian house killing the firstborn sons, the Jewish people sat down to their first Pesach Seder, dressed ready to leave at a moment's notice. They had stopped serving the Egyptians months ago (Rosh Hashanah), and redemption had been imminent for some time, but still, they had to live out the rest of exile and act out redemption in so many physical ways. It was strange mixture of the old reality with the new reality.

If Jesus is imminent and the false Christ is Imminent, pray tell who do I worship Mr. Scofield?
And this is how, according to tradition, the Final Redemption will occur as well. It will not happen all at once, but in stages. Little by little, the miracles will increase; in fact, at first we might have difficulty recognizing them for what they are: signs that Moshiach's arrival is imminent.
They have arranged their own redemption to him they chose, for the One who Chose them unto Salvation, Christ Jesus the Cornerstone
Eventually, though, reality will change enough that there will be no doubting what our eyes and minds are witnessing, though we may have difficulty accepting that, after millennia of waiting, redemption has finally arrived. And, eventually, nature will give way to miracle, that is, G-d will not longer "veil" Himself behind the consistency of nature, and then, redemption in the full sense of the term will have arrived.
Arrive, it did, in Egypt. Arrive, it will, b'ezras Hashem, in the future as well.
But many shall fall down in Jerusalem on that sixth trumpet call, who have not worshipped this Moshiach ben Perdition and they will give great Glory to the God in Heaven....Allelujah!
As the Ramban points out, the Talmud Yerushalmi (5:1) hears from Moshe Rabbeinu's words to the Jewish people at THIS time a negative commandment for ALL time. In other words, Moshe Rabbeinu was telling the frightened Jewish nation at this critical moment, "And, by the way, leaving Egypt NOW means leaving Egypt for FOREVER.

How many keitzin are there throughout history? The Vilna Gaon speaks about 1,000 of them to be exact:
The beginning of anything large or small that can be performed during the Period of Moshiach is through the "me'yudim" - designated "emissaries" - Heaven (Hell)-sent messengers at the beginning of the redemption. They initiate the "ye'udim" - specific "events" - and the two of them together result in the "moadim"- the "appointed times" -the end-times (hakeitzim) of the levels of the footsteps which are initiated from Below, in order to achieve the number 999 in [the sefirah of] Yesod. (Kol HaTor, Chapter 4:3)Nine hundred and ninety-nine (999)? What happened to 1,000? The GR"A explains:
Every rectification must reach the final level of initiation from Below, which is 1000 less one, that is, 999 of [the sefirah] Yesod. This is the largest number of Moshiach ben Yosef, based upon the verse, "the smallest will be for a thousand" (Yeshayahu 60:22). (Kol HaTor,Chapter 5:1)
In other words, the Gaon is teaching, Moshiach ben Yosef is both a process and a leader. The sefirah that corresponds to Yosef HaTzaddik, and therefore his descendant, Moshiach ben Yosef, is the sixth sefirah, Yesod, which is also the cosmic DNA for the Sixth Millennium in which we are living. There have been many keitzin throughout Jewish history, but there are 1,000 in the Sixth Millennium alone, 999 of which we can achieve from Below, the last of which is completed by Heaven (through Moshiach himself) to finalize the redemption.
And they will call you the anti-Moshiach, and they oppose Michael the angel of the LORDS True Israel who are the seed of Abraham in faith of Christ Jesus
Exactly what all these "ends" are, the Gaon does not explain, at least not here. And, though it may not be clear exactly what each of these levels represent, the Vilna Gaon does warn that as we approach the final and 999th level, the Sitra Achra - the Opposing Angel - will be at his strongest, and for two reasons. First, knowing that his end is imminent with the coming of the Final Redemption (Succah 52a), he will need to fight for survival like never before; and second, for the added strength of the yetzer hara, because free will -the overall purpose of creation - demands a balanced choice. Therefore, as clarity of truth increases, so must the temptation to reject it increase as well. The trick, and source of one's spiritual survival will be knowing whether or not our rejection of information is rooted in our yetzer tov, or our yetzer hara, something that is a lot easier to do on paper than in practice.
They must have the Oral Tradition of the Talmud Bavli, Satan's plan book and they must enforce the Noahide Laws upon all mankind for the slavery of Satan
On a more Kabbalistic level, one of the main reasons why Jews are exiled is to do that which they failed to do while living in Eretz Yisroel. History is about drawing the Holy Sparks from the Depths of Spiritual Impurity, which is done primarily through learning Torah and performing mitzvos. Until ALL the sparks have been "redeemed" and purified, Moshiach cannot come, and come he must.
Oh...no have you been told that God the Most High sent them out for their worship of Satan? Not so saith the Talmudic Ribbeyes of Rabid Chabad. But their god, Satan sent these perverted seed of the serpent to destroy Christianity.
Lacking the spiritual power to "draw" distant sparks to Eretz Yisroel, the Jewish people were sent out to the sparks themselves, in order to redeem them. They did this by living amongst the gentile nations, by drawing on their local resources for survival, and the performance of mitzvos.
The only "flaw" in the system is that, everywhere Jews have ever gone, over time we seem to be more affected than effective. Rather than elevate the gentile world into which we have been exiled to the level of "B'nei Noach," we are instead drawn down, usually en masse, away from Torah and mitzvos. If so, then what was accomplished besides spiritual, and eventually physical, annihilation (as the latest survey of American Jewry seems to be confirming)?
As in all cases concerning Jewish exile and redemption, we can answer our question by examining the prototype.
The counterfeit emulation of desolation
And they emptied out Egypt. (Shemos 12:36)According to Kabbalah, this was no simple plunder of an enemy country. Embodied in all the booty the Jews of Egypt had been commanded to take with them on their way out of Egypt, were all the Holy Sparks that they had been sent down to Egypt to redeem 210 years earlier. The physical reality is merely a reflection of the spiritual realm.
Rav Ami said: We learn from this that they left her (Egypt) like a net without grain. Raish Lakish said: They left her like a depth without fishes. (Brochos 9b)
It had not been an overnight process either. It took 210 years and could have taken up to 400 years, had the Jewish people been up to the task. In the course of that time, the Jewish people had settled in Goshen, built a life for themselves, prospered, moved out of Goshen, assimilated into Egyptian society, been stripped of their rights, and finally, persecuted and enslaved. By the time Moshe Rabbeinu had shown up on the scene to kick-start the redemption, the Jewish people had been in bad shape, to say the least.
So bad, in fact, that when the Sitra Achra looked on (see last week's parshah sheet), he could only slap his knee with joy and burst with laughter. Crossing his legs on his desktop and placing his hands behind his head as he leaned back, he could be heard saying with glee and confidence, "Nothing to redeem here!" If it looked bad to us, then you can just imagine how good it looked to him.
Within a few months, after the miraculous plagues had begun to inflict the Egyptian oppressors, things began to turn around, and the relaxed look of the Sitra Achra quickly turned into one of panic. How quickly things had turned around, and now that the keitzhad come, which meant that the "Light of Redemption" emanated down - thanks to Moshe Rabbeinu - into the depths of spiritual impurity - Egypt- he was powerless to do anything to interfere in the process of redemption.
Down, but not out, the Sitra Achra was forced to bide his time until that special light was withdrawn once again, leaving the newly redeemed Jewish people vulnerable to the wiles of the yetzer hara.
