IDF seals Gaza Strip until end of disengagement

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon gave OC Southern Command Maj.-Gen. Dan Harel and OC Central Command Maj.-Gen. Danny Naveh the green light on Wednesday morning to close their respective districts to non-residents at the time of their choosing.

Harel decided to close the Gaza Strip immediately upon receiving the order until the end of this summer's disengagement out of concern that right-wing extremists (Chabad Lubavitch Hassidim of Talmud Bavli, Sanhedrin) were entering settlements to beef up resistance ranks.

However, northern Samaria remains open to non-residents, sources in Central Command said.

Only residents of Gaza settlements who are listed as such in the Interior Ministry will be allowed to enter, Israel Radio reported.

The decision was reached on Tuesday evening in a meeting attended by Sharon, Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz, Internal Security Minister Gideon Ezra, Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz, Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin, Attorney General Meni Mazuz and Yossi Kupperwasser, head of the IDF Intelligence Corps research division.

Harel called on Gush Katif residents to cooperate with the authorities despite the inconvenience.

"We call on residents of Gush Katif to cooperate with authorities so that together we can minimize the disruption to everyday life," he said during a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

"We are continuing to prepare for the implementation of disengagement with full resolve but also great sensitivity," he added.

Head of Southern Command staff Brig.-Gen. Guy Tzur described the practical steps being taken to close Gaza. He said checkpoint commanders would have the authority to issue temporary entry authorizations to Israeli citizens, such as family members, businessmen providing services to Gush Katif residents, and for humanitarian purposes.

Sharon's earlier than expected declaration sparked confusion within the far right. Some of the more radical anti-disengagement groups declared Wednesday "Zero hour." The vaguely named National Home, a rightist anti-disengagement group responsible for many of the road and highway blockades over the past few weeks declared its "zero hour" Wednesday morning, calling on all activists to block roads and highways at 4pm.

As a result, the police have raised their alert level and will deploy on major roads throughout the country.

The settlers' main governing body, The Council of Jewish settlements in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip (Yesha Council) blasted the decisions.

"This is the first time that a Jewish prime minister declares a siege on Jewish communities," a statement issued by the council stated.

However, the council also quickly dispatched messages calling on its activists to "conserve our strength and energy for the central protest on Monday." Yesha plans to launch what it bills as "the grandest most complicated protest march in the country's history," on Monday, (Sunday in USA) when it will guide up to 50,000 anti-disengagement activists from Netivot on a three day march across parts of the western Negev in an effort to break the blockade on Gush Katif.

About forty anti-disengagement youths gathered at the Kissufim crossing into Gush Katif on Wednesday afternoon and attempted to enter. However, border policemen interlocked arms and blocked the road to prevent them entry.

Some of the youth gave out cards calling on the policemen to refuse orders, while other teenagers, bags in hand, attempted to sneak into Gush Katif along the side of the road.

A policeman was injured Wednesday afternoon in scuffles with the anti-disengagement activists at the Kissufim crossing

ADL poll: US, EU have opposing views of Israel

American and European attitudes toward Israel are "diametrically opposed," said a new poll released Tuesday by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

While more Americans sympathize with Israel (42 percent) than with Palestinians (14%), only 13% of Europeans said they sympathized with Israel while 25% sympathized with the Palestinians.

Europeans are also more skeptical than their American counterparts about how serious the Palestinians and Israelis are about achieving peace.

Seventy-seven percent of Americans believe Israel is serious about achieving peace, while 68% think the Palestinians are. In Europe, only 56% think Israel is serious about achieving peace, while 58% said the Palestinians were.

"While Americans credit both Israelis and Palestinians for the improved climate, the survey shows that most believe Israel is working harder to achieve peace," said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director.

"Though there is some improvement in European attitudes toward Israel and Prime Minster [Ariel] Sharon, Europeans are still light-years away from the views of Americans," he said.

A high-level delegation of ADL leaders from across the US, led by Barbara Balser, the ADL national chair, and Foxman also met with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas Tuesday afternoon. During the meeting they discussed ways in which the ADL and other groups could work with the PA.

"He raised the issue of incitement within the Palestinian society," said Foxman. "He did volunteer that there are serious issues in textbooks and elsewhere, and that he needs our help – and third party help – in dealing with it."

Abbas also defended his decision to resume dialogue with Hamas, Foxman said.

"Abbas said that he was not ready to give up on discussions," said Foxman. "He wanted to find a way to bring them into the process."

The poll of 2,200 American adults was conducted by The Marttila Communications Group; 600 from June 19-23, and 1,600 from March 18-25.

In Europe, more than 6,000 people in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom – and, for the first time, Hungary and Poland – were polled April 11 – May 6, 2005.

With fewer than five weeks to go until disengagement, 71% of Americans said that Israel's action was "a bold step for peace."
"As Israel's initiatives to achieve peace, such as the disengagement from Gaza, are recognized by European governments and the EU, we hope for more positive changes in attitudes," said Foxman.

"However, there remains a bias against Israel in the European media and among some in government that reinforce the negative attitudes held by Europeans," he said.

Meanwhile, the Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) released a statement claiming that the results from the ADL poll were not statistically valid.

Citing two professors, one from the University of Pennsylvania and the other from Hebrew University, ZOA claimed the questions were skewed with "political" wording.

"The ZOA calls on Abe Foxman and ADL to stop promoting and disseminating their poll's results and immediately issue a public retraction of their erroneous conclusion," said ZOA President Morton A. Klein

Visitors to Gush Katif are being turned back at the Kisufim Junction, in this new stage of the proposed expulsion plan. The military closure was instituted at 10:30 AM, Wednesday morning.

Residents of Gush Katif have been expecting the closure, but are now faced with being completely isolated from the rest of the Israeli population.

Reaction in the Gush Katif Regional Council offices ranged this morning from nervous laughter to fear and apprehension. "This is it," one person said. "My brother is supposed to come to visit me," another said. "Will he be allowed in?" Young girls living in Katif for their year of National Service worried aloud whether they would be allowed to travel freely.

The Yesha Council responded to the closure stating, “This is the first time in history that a Jewish Prime Minister has placed a siege on a Jewish town and declared that part of the Land of Israel should be ‘clean of Jews.’”

The Council’s statement also noted, “This is another part of the Prime Minister’s plan to create a split in the nation, and to trample on the values of democracy, Zionism and the residents. Is this his answer to yesterday’s murderous terrorist attack?”

Gaza Coast Regional Dror Vanunu, director of the Katif Region Development Fund, said with disbelief, “In the month of Tammuz, a siege has been placed on a Jewish area in the Land of Israel.” He was referring with irony to the siege placed on Jerusalem by the Babylonians 2,500 years ago in the month of Tammuz.

Rumors had been circulating in the twenty-one communities of Gush Katif for days of the impending closure. They became more substantial this morning, and at 10:30am the closure was levied. Confirmation of the closure was given by individuals were turned back after trying to enter Gush Katif at the Kisufim Junction.

Many families from around the country were planning to arrive in Gush Katif in upcoming days, to help bolster the population and make the expulsion more difficult on the government and military. The decision to make Gush Katif a closed-military-zone was made to ward off increased supporter presence.

The Yesha Council has been planning a mass march to Gush Katif, this coming Monday. The organizers are hoping that tens of thousands of people will arrive by car in the Negev city of Netivot on Monday afternoon, and begin what could be a three-day trek to Kisufim.

The Evacuation/Compensation Law legislated by the Knesset earlier this year authorized Prime Minister Sharon to declare Gush Katif and northern Shomron "closed areas" at any time. One Gush Katif resident referred to the law as the Eviction/Theft Law.

Katif was previously closed twelve days ago for approximately twenty-four hours during the forced evacuation of the Maoz Yam Hotel. The closure was lifted in time for Sabbath visitors to arrive in the area.

Several communities in the area are in the midst of preparing living accomodations for new families to arrive. Tent-sites are being erected in Shirat HaYam, Kfar Darom, Kerem Atzmonah, Netzer Hazani, and elsewhere. In Morag, Gush Katif's eastern-most community, homes were being prepared for six families to move in to the unused second-floors.

Gush residents now wonder whether these sites will ever be populated, and whether they have the means to halt the impending evacuation process

Katif Calls on World Jewry: Come to Israel!

"Now is the time to buy a plane ticket for Israel and to come to Gush Katif." This is the call issued by the Katif Development Fund as the efforts to fight the expulsion plan heat up.

The Yesha Council has announced a three-day march towards Gush Katif beginning this coming Monday, and Land of Israel supporters are invited to take part as well.

"Bring a sleeping bag, and get ready to join the struggle by camping out," says Dror Vanunu, director of the Katif Development Fund ("www.katifund.org") . The organizers of the protest are hoping that tens of thousands of people will take to the streets leading towards Gush Katif, travel as far as they are allowed before being stopped by army or police checkpoints, and then simply "camp out" where they are. The objective is to block up the roads, thus rendering impossible the implementation of the actual disengagement.

"Now is the time for world Jewry to come - on an open-ended ticket," Vanunu says. "Just as thousands of anarchists and left-wingers have arrived in Israel over the past few years to fight against the security fence and in favor of Palestinians, now is the time for loyal Jews to come to Israel and join the struggle. This is the charge of the hour!"

The Katif Fund is also involved in more "mundane" activities, such as preparing a day of vacation for all of Gush Katif. "We did it four years ago, and it was something that people here have not yet forgotten," Vanunu said. "We are in contact with some of the big amusement-water parks, and we hope to be able to bring thousands of people of Gush Katif - who are undergoing tremendous pressures regarding their future - for a day of enjoyment. It is a tremendous venture, involving buses, food, and more, and should cost about 300,000 shekels."

Vanunu noted that the Jewish Agency recently raised two million dollars for fun-days for the children of Sderot and nearby communities, "but for our children, at whom 5,700 rockets and shells have been fired since the Oslo War began - many times more than those that have fallen on Sderot and the Negev - no such campaign was made."

Aid has come in from the Education Ministry, Vanunu said, to subsidize day camps for the children of Gush Katif.

'Maccabi's victory sign messianic era close'

"Maccabi's victory is another sign that any second now Moshiach will come – just like the Rebbe taught us," Rabbi Yaakov Gloiberman, the personal rabbi of Maccabi Tel Aviv coach Pini Gershon, said Monday. Gloiberman, a Chabad emissary in Lod, provided spiritual support to Gershon, who coached Maccabi to a win against Tau Vitoria in the Euroleague final Sunday in Moscow.

"What else has to happen before Moshiach comes?" asked Gloiberman. "Image thousands of fans, religious and secular, marching through the streets of Moscow after the victory shouting, 'There is a God and Moshiach.' "

Gloiberman said thousands of Israelis openly expressed pride and adulation for their team in Moscow, a city with a long history of anti-Semitism.

"Right now I am speaking to you from in front of KGB headquarters," he said. "Just a few decades ago a Jew with a beard would be afraid to show his face anywhere in Moscow. Now I am standing in front of the most infamous place in Russia, celebrating Israel's victory without fear."

Several incidents of anti-Semitism occurred, but were blotted out by the boisterous celebrations of victory, he added.

Today, police conducted a search in the home of a Chabad shleimus haaretz activist in Jerusalem.  After discovering that the "wanted man" was not home, the police confiscated all the anti-disengagement material that he had in his home.  Among other things they confiscated hundreds of posters with a picture of the Rebbe stating:  "Melech Hamoshiach says:  The expulsion is a danger for us all"

The police left a summons in the house for the activist to appear for a hearing. His family reports to Chabad.info that the police turned over every nook and cranny in the home, and confiscated every scrap of paper connected with the struggle against disengagement.

Second WTC Janitor Comes Forward With Eye-Witness Testimony Of 'Bomb-Like' Explosion in North Tower Basement

Jose Sanchez, while working in a sub-level 4 workshop of the north tower on 9/11, heard a bomb-like explosion, had his hair burned and rescued a co-worker who had his leg and knee broken from the basement blast taking place at the same time the jetliner struck the top floors.

A second WTC maintenance worker has now come forward with eye-witness testimony that a massive explosion erupted in the lower levels of the north tower at approximately the same time the jetliner struck the tower’s top floors.

 

Jose Sanchez, 45, of New Jersey in a never-released tape recorded statement made in early 2002 to William Rodriguez, the first WTC maintenance man to claim a bomb exploded in the north tower basement, said he heard what sounded like a “huge bomb,” causing lights to flicker on and off, while he worked in a small sub-level 4 workshop.

 

Sanchez, who worked for American Building Maintenance Co. at the WTC for 14 years, was unavailable for comment, but made the taped 2002 statement to Rodriguez, recounting his 9/11 personal experience.

 

Sanchez, who fell on hard times after 9/11, revealed the details of a basement bomb-like explosion while Rodriguez and two CNN interns, Carolina Inojosa and Evita Zerebrinsky, interviewed victims and documented information for the many unfortunate people having trouble getting needed government assistance after 9/11.

 

Besides questioning the credibility of the official story that burning jet fuel was the only factor in bringing down the towers, Rodriguez formed an assistance organization called the Hispanic Victims Group instrumental in helping hundreds of people get help after 9/11 left many victims unemployed and homeless.

 

“I knew Jose very well since we worked for the same company,” said Rodriguez in a telephone conversation from his New Jersey apartment. “At the time, I taped his statements, I was more concerned about getting people needed assistance and, anyway, back then I really thought the government was seriously investigating the WTC attacks.

 

“But since then I have learned otherwise. I realize now they are covering-up the real truth and that’s why I want to release Jose’s statement. What really upsets me and, you can take this message to the White House, is that people like Jose and many others like him who experienced what happened in the basement of the north tower were simply ignored and never interviewed by the 9/11 Commission.

 

“If they really wanted to get at the truth, these are the very people who should have been interviewed, not public officials who knew very little about what occurred inside the buildings that tragic morning.

 

“However, instead we all have been ignored in order to cover up the truth. The victims, those who died and the families who lost loved ones deserve nothing less than the truth and I intend to keep talking until the truth is finally told.”

 

Sanchez’s explosive comments, shooting another large hole in the government story, now adds even more credibility to Rodriguez’s recent statements that he heard a massive explosion in the WTC basement just seconds prior to the jetliner striking above while working in a sub-level 1 office along side 14 others, all who heard and felt the very same thing as Rodriguez.

 

Since the outset, the government has stood firm that only burning jet fuel brought down the towers, but has ignored mounting eye-witness testimony and scientific data showing that a controlled demolition was an additional cause.

 

The government also has not fully explained why it immediately tampered with a crime scene, a criminal offense, by having all the hard evidence from the WTC removed and shipped overseas before independent investigators had a chance to study the structural components of the towers in order to help determine the real cause of the tower’s collapse.

 

While arguments continue in the scientific community about the structural cause of the WTC collapse, Sanchez’s eye-witness testimony adds more credibility that explosives were placed and detonated in the lower level of the north tower.

 

In the 2002 taped statement, Sanchez recalls, at the same time Rodriguez and the others heard the explosion, being in a small sub-level 4 workshop with another man who he only knew by the name of Chino when, out of nowhere, the blast sounded as the two men were cutting a piece of metal.

 

“It sounded like a bomb and the lights went on and off,” said Sanchez in the tape recording. “We started to walk to the exit and a huge ball of fire went through the freight elevator. The hot air from the ball of fire dropped Chino to the floor and my hair got burned,” said Sanchez in the tape recording. “The room then got full of smoke and I remember saying out loud ‘I believe it was a bomb that blew up inside the building.’

 

“I said ‘ Chino , let’s go we gotta get out of here.’ But Chino was wounded and told me he needed help. I remember him saying that the hot air came with such force that it broke his leg. We finally went out through another exit and his leg and knee were both broken.”

 

Sanchez, all the time helping Chino , then recalls exiting into a parking lot on sub-level 4 where he encountered a group of other people also trying to flee. In the parking lot, a person assisted the pair, wrapping Chino ’s leg with a bandage from a first aid kit.

 

Chino was then driven in an SUV to safety while Sanchez decided to walk up four flights of stairs through the stairwell, trying to exit at the plaza level but being turned back by debris and falling glass.

 

“I went back down the stairwell to B-4 and encountered several people coming up. I told them to turn back around and then went across the parking lot up another stairwell, making a left and then finally getting outside,” said Sanchez. “It took about 15 or 20 minutes to get outside and for me it was like a bomb with huge smoke all around. Then when I got outside, the other plane hit the south tower. It looked and felt like a war as I hid behind a wall to get out of the way of falling debris.”

 

Saying that he felt disoriented and “didn’t know what was happening,” Sanchez eventually made his way to safety, arriving at his New Jersey home at about 3:30pm after fleeing down 34^th St. and making his way to the ferry boat.

 

Asked how he felt in the aftermath of the attacks, he said:

 

“I felt a sense of loss and despair. I worked there 14 years and I worked through the whole complex, installing signs. I worked on all floors and that day I just happened to be in the basement.

 

“I think I was lucky to get out of the basement because I was near the stairwell.”

Londoners Suspicious Of Station Closures Before Blasts

Internet forums are not the benchmark of absolute truth and unlike the government, who eagerly rush to give credibility to an 'Al-Qaeda' statement as soon as a Bush-linked Internet company can post it, we do not offer this as concrete proof of anything. However, it is interesting nonetheless.

Several different people on the forum of the London Evening Standard website are reporting their own perculiar experiences on the day of the bombing.

Did anyone travelling in BEFORE the attacks began yesterday notice anything peculiar on their tube journey?

I catch the Piccadilly line at 7.15am each morning from Southgate to reach my work in Kensington by 8.00. Normally, all seats are taken by Finsbury Park and carriages are packed by Kings Cross.

However, yesterday my tube journey was eerily quiet. For the first time ever there were spare seats in my carriage all the way through zone 1. It was noticeable enough for me to wonder what on earth was going on. This was at 7.45 - over an hour before attacks began.

I've also heard people saying that the Northern Line was being shut down at the same time.

Is there something that we're not being told?

I was due to pick a work colleague up from balham at 7:15am, but when i got there i was greeted with Tube emergency vans, police and and hoards of people being turned away from a closed station.

All very strange they must have known something was going to happen, the surely had a tip off. As i drove along the road, (which also follows the tubes) they were all shut and hundreds of people were queing for buses.

when i reached Oval, which was open there were two armed policemen in a road next to the station, which for a quiet area like that is extremly rare.

the northen line was shut from morden to stockwell. They blatantly knew something was going down, they just got it wrong and are hoping no one mentions anything.

When combined with the bomb scares in different major cities days before the bombing, the Israeli warnings and the beyond a coincidence exercises the day of the attack, these accounts shed more light on the true nature of the attack.

BRUSSELS -- A news agency run by the office of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei claimed that Israel was "using the mask of Al-Qaeda and [Abu Musab] Zarqawi to hunt down diplomats based in Iraq" and that "the London bombings were also part of the mischief by Israel".

 

"Israel is now in control of religious extremists, particularly the Wahabis and the Salafis, in Arabia and North Africa", it claimed.

Fars News Agency used as its source "a senior Iraqi security official who requested anonymity" to claim that "the role of Israel in terrorist attacks and sabotage in Iraq is becoming clearer by the day".

 

"The Israelis infiltrated the Iraqi government at the time of Iyad Allawi's premiership, using [ex-Defence Minister] Hazem Shaalan and [ex-Interior Minister] Fallah Naqib as their agents", the news agency quoted the unnamed source as saying. "They placed Baathist elements, particularly unknown officers of Iraq's Military Intelligence, in sensitive security, intelligence and financial positions".

 

The Iranian news agency's source claimed that Israel was intercepting communications between Iraqi officials, police, military and intelligence agencies. "Israel is staging the biggest terrorist attacks in Iraq. They are even disrupting the economy and attacking infrastructural systems such as water and electricity to create insecurity, cause widespread discontent and bring to power an anti-Shiite government".

 

"Israeli-led teams in Baghdad carried out the assassination of some of the foreign envoys in Baghdad and the murder of the Egyptian ambassador", the news agency quoted its source as saying.

 

Observers note that Iran has stepped up its anti-Israeli propaganda since the election of the ultra-conservative Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The state-run media have been reviving the story of four Iranians in Lebanon, who have been missing since the 1980s, accusing Israel of kidnapping them.

 

"This is Tehran's reaction to what they are describing as a 'massive Zionist propaganda campaign' to discredit Ahmadinejad", said Hassan Ilhami, a media consultant who regularly monitors broadcasts from the Middle East.

 

"With such wayward claims, they are also deflecting attention from their own clandestine activities in Iraq", he said.

 

"They are also blaming the Israelis for the London bombings, because they know that they, as the sole remaining active state sponsor of terrorism with extensive connections to Islamic fundamentalists worldwide, are on the hot seat right now", the analyst added.

London Underground Exercises and the Magically Exploding Terrorists: Important Questions
Official government story changes every minute

Since we posted our original article about the exercises being conducted on the London Underground which targeted the exact same spots as the bombings that happened on the morning of Thursday 7th July, a firestorm of interest on the subject has swept the internet.

Important questions need to be asked of both Peter Power and Visor Consultants, the agency who were running the drill.

In both the ITN TV interview and the BBC radio interview Peter Power makes it clear that the team of crisis managers who were overseeing the drill quickly switched from exercise planning to real time management of the actual bombing itself.

"We had to suddenly switch an exercise from fictional to real," stated Power in his TV interview.

The company that Visor were running the exercise for is not named by Power. If Visor switched to real time management of the bombings, who else could the company be but London Underground or one of their affiliates?

If this were a strategy session for a completely unaffiliated company to London Underground, the meeting would have been cancelled and the participants would have gone home as soon as they were aware of the fact that a real attack was taking place.

Only if the exercise was being conducted for London Underground or a group responsible for part of a command structure in the aftermath of the attack would 'real time crisis management' of the event take place.

So why does Power make mention of the company being close to a property occupied by Jewish businessmen? He then makes reference to American banks. If the exercise was being coordinated on behalf of a bank then why was there a need for Visor Consultants to actively 'manage' the bombings after they had taken place and what were they managing precisely?

Visor Consultants is a PR firm. Were they responsible for telling the media that the bombings were in fact a simple power surge for over an hour? An explanation that was obviously ridiculous but gave the government time to manage the release of information about the attack.

Power has been hired by the government before and he is always used to release information after terrorist incidents in London.

Two previous examples of this are the March 2001 BBC television center bombing and the September 2000 rocket attack on the MI6 building.

Was Powers again used by the government as a conduit for information that would support their official version of events?

Today we are told that the bombers were all killed in the act of carrying out the bombing. Just like the Madrid bombers blew themselves up during a raid (pictured below).

How very convenient that all of the suspected patsies should have been blown up in their own attacks even though the last word was that the attacks were not suicide bombings, but synchronized, timed bombings. This is pure media-manipulation sleight of hand. Its designed to distract from the revelation that exercises that precisely mirrored the bombings were happening in the Tube as the bombs were going off around London. Its the same trick used in Madrid - first the government tried to blame ETA and when that wouldn't stick, it turned to the old standby of Islamic Extremists. When investigators tracked the patsies to an apartment in Leganés, the so-called terrorists supposedly blew themselves up in the stand-off. Suspects dead, case closed the government said. They are trying to play the same tired hand in London.

The BBC is reporting that only one of the bombers definitely blew himself up. Which is it? All four bombers or just one? There is an attempt to muddy the waters so people will switch off and just buy whatever the government tells them, even though the government story keeps contradicting itself.

The London Times reported,

"The bombers who killed 191 people in Madrid last year also gathered at one place before separating to plant devices timed to explode simultaneously."

How could the Madrid bombers have carried out an attack from the grave? Here is the report saying they blew themselves up. How could they have bombed London if they were already dead? When another city gets bombed and they get blamed again will anyone point out that the same bombers have now been killed twice over?

The Times report is a blatant psy-op to keep the 'Al-Qaeda' drumbeat echoing in people's heads. Even though the so-called claim of responsibility is a proven hoax.

Furthermore, the New Zealand Herald reported that two Reuters employees witnessed the unconfirmed shooting by police of two apparent suicide bombers outside the HSBC tower at Canary Wharf in London. This took place at 10:30am, after the so-called suicide bombers had blown themselves up.

So let me get this straight, they blew themselves up after the Madrid bombing, they blew themselves up during the London bombing and then they were shot by police after the London bombing. So they've been killed three times over? Does that make sense to you?

Add to this that the CCTV camera on the number 30 bus was conveniently not working and we have the makings of an information lock down. They can tell us whatever they want but without any evidence to back it up why should we believe them when they've been caught lying about terrorism and creating fake terror alerts dozens of times before?

Israel that killed at least four and injured dozens, US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said.

I wouldn't want to suggest that I know about the attack today, but clearly that's been one of the stated and continuous purposes of Iran, to harm Israel," said Rumsfeld, speaking at a press conference with his Italian counterpart Antonio Martino.

The attack in the Israeli city of Netanya was the first suicide bombing inside Israel in four and a half months. At least three Israelis as well as the bomber were killed in the blast.

Palestinian leader Mahmud Abbas slammed the bombing, claimed by Islamic Jihad, as "a terrorist attack" and vowed to punish the perpetrators.

Israel said the attacks proved the

Palestinian Authority is "doing nothing to stop terrorism".

The White House also demanded the Palestinian Authority "act to dismantle terrorist organizations and to stop attacks from happening in the first place."

U.S. officials finger Syria, Iran in attack

Bush administration officials suggested that Syria and Iran may be linked to a suicide bomb attack in Israel.

The attack Tuesday in Netanya killed four Israelis. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said that though he did not know of a direct link to Iran, “We know that Iran has been assisting Hezbollah and other organizations and moving equipment and people down through Damascus into Beirut and down into positions where they can attack Israel for years and years and years and years.”

Iranian officials accused Rumsfeld of trying to “cover up” U.S. failures in the region with the accusation. Condoleezza Rice, the U.S. secretary of state, condemned the attack and said it was “essential that the Syrian government end its support for terrorist organizations, particularly those which are headquartered and harbored in Damascus, such as the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.”

Rice also said she had been in touch with the Palestinian leadership and “made clear that they must take immediate steps to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”

DISENGAGEMENT PREP COURSE

Rabbi Sholom Dov Ber Volpe spoke with an Israeli policeman who completed a course that prepared him for the Disengagement. Published in Beis Moshiach (Issue No. 499)

Timetable: as of May 15th, all roads to Gush Katif will be closed and it will be declared a closed military zone; nobody will be allowed in or out. As of June 15th, there will be no vacation for policemen. All officers will be on duty for two and a half months and will not be allowed to go home. The Disengagement will begin on July 10th, and will take at least two months.

*Huge gatherings will be held for the wives of police officers in order to explain to them the importance of what is happening and so that they understand that they will not see their husbands for two and a half months, and they shouldn’t be upset about it because their husbands are needed for an important operation.

*Every settler will be assigned four police officers. That is, four for every family member.

*Each Disengagement team will be accompanied by a video photographer, who will tape every move and intimidate the settlers, so that they don’t respond to the Disengagement with force or act violently towards the police.

*The police will work without their ID tags. Among other concerns, this will also prevent the settlers from taking anybody to court for violence. The policemen were guaranteed that the department that investigates police internal affairs will not deal with complaints during the months of the Disengagement, and even afterwards, it will turn a blind eye and will protect the policemen as much as possible. They were told explicitly that for “little things” like breaking the arm of a settler while evicting him, no file against them will be opened.

*The courses included lessons on hand-to-hand combat, with emphasis on how to inflict pain without leaving a mark. For example, if a mother is holding her baby and they want to evict her, they first have to forcibly take the baby from her. They are taught various methods of how to inflict pressure on various joints and methods on how to twist hands “gently,” and then she will have to loosen her hold on the baby. It will all be done in a way that afterwards, she won’t be able to show signs of violence. After removing the child or children from the mother, they will give the children immediately to a social worker and then they will drag the mother to the bus and only afterwards, bring her the children.

*As soon as they manage to remove the family from their home, the moving companies will remove the furniture and load it on trucks. After finishing clearing out the contents of the house, they will immediately seal the doors and windows with bricks, etc., so that the house can no longer be occupied. Once the sealing of the house is completed, a guard will be assigned to the house.

*The Disengagement will take place yishuv by yishuv;(little by little, house by house) not all at once. When they finish with one yishuv and seal the homes, they will leave soldiers to guard the yishuv so settlers cannot try to return.

*The evicted people will be sent to live in caravans or hotels set aside for this purpose, and they will be under guard so they cannot demonstrate, obstruct roads, etc.

*A large proportion of the policemen are not Jewish. They are happy at this opportunity to throw Jews out of their homes.

*The Jewish soldiers are terribly shaken by all this and during the breaks spoke among themselves, saying that just from the course itself they need psychological help. After the course, all the officers will take workshops with psychologists who will help them deal with the horrible work they have to do over a two-month period.

*In conclusion, the police officer told me: The settlers do not understand what is in store for them. There is no way they can prevail. Aside from their eviction and the giving of their homes to terrorists, they will watch strangers pack their belongings and of course, items will be stolen from them.

*They will be herded like cattle to various centers. The Disengagement and everything connected with it will break them. They will no longer be able to function as normal people.

However, we believe that “Many are the thoughts in the heart of man, and the counsel of G-d will prevail!”

Now if the Hassidim can stage this, what do you suppose they are capable of for the Goyim of the earth?

Jewish extremism: How real is the threat?

Israeli security officials, warning of possible violence by Jewish extremists aimed at derailing the plan for a withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and scattered settlements in the West Bank, are bracing for a number of nightmare scenarios, including a bid to crash an aircraft into the Muslim shrines on the Temple Mount, or an attempt on the life of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.

Likud MK Ehud Yatom, who as a Shin Bet agent helped foil a Jewish bomb plot against the Temple Mount 20 years ago, said this week that such an attack today could spark "World War III."

In recent days, Shin Bet head Avi Dichter cautioned that there may be as many as 200 Jews who want to see Sharon dead, and would support dozens who could potentially take action.

The dangers of incitement have been cited as well, as rabbis and settlers have debated whether violence is justified in battling an evacuation, less than 10 years after the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin. Settlement supporters have said the warnings could be used to delegitimize opponents of disengagement.

Are the possible dangers of Jewish extremism being overstated, or is the threat a real one? Should Israel take harsher measures against potential Jewish terrorists, even at the risk of curbing freedoms?

While this has been around for a little while (and was recently forwarded to me again by a friend), what struck me about this is that while it may seem nothing is really going on here (so, a Sanhedrin, who authorized a group of guys to stand up and call themselves a Sanhedrin), notice the response.

If some inappropriate / unauthorized organization started running around calling itself the Sanhedrin, you'd expect the Gedolim (Jewish religious Torah leaders) to stand up and start screaming about it.

Heard anything from Rav Kotler in Lakewood? Rav Elishav in Bnei Brak? Rav Yosef in Jerusalem? Rav Eliyahu in Jerusalem? The Chief Rabbinute in Israel?

As they say, the silence is deafening.

The momentum is building simply by it's continued existence and, by their silence, the tacit approval of the Gedolim. More is going on here that meets the eye.

The reestablished Sanhedrin has concluded extensive deliberations on the disengagement plan, rejecting it as a contradiction to the Torah of Israel.


The current format of the Sanhedrin is the renewal of the historic Sanhedrin, Judaism's highest legal-religious tribunal during Holy Temple times. The 71-man assembly convened in one of the Holy Temple chambers, and existed from several decades before the Common Era until roughly 425 C.E. The renewed body was launched last year in Tiberias, and convenes in Jerusalem.

Following an intensive study and debate on the issue and its halakhic [Jewish legal] implications, the Sanhedrin drafted a declaration Monday, stating inter alia:

* The disengagement plan, involving the uprooting of Jewish communities in Gaza and Samaria and the abandonment of these areas to a foreign entity, is in direct contradiction to the Torah of Israel, and is null and void. Future governments of Israel will have to re-conquer the areas in question.

* The decision to implement the uprooting will cause large numbers of Jews to transgress many of the Torah's commandments.

* The Government of Israel and the Knesset, in their present form and power structure, are institutions that have no authority according to Jewish Law to render decisions that contradict the Torah of Israel.

* No Jew is permitted to cooperate with the program of uprooting, in any way whatsoever.

The number of illegal aliens arrested at the U.S. southern border who are not Mexicans has nearly doubled this year.

According to a report to Congress by the chief of the Border Patrol, David Aguilar, yesterday, OTMs – or "other than Mexicans" – trying to enter the U.S. illegally have increased markedly.

Aguilar told the House of Representatives Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security: "Apprehensions are running at a rate of 175 percent for fiscal year 2005 over FY 2004's record number of OTM apprehensions on the southwest border."

Reuters reported in all, the Border Patrol has detained 919,000 illegal aliens so far this year, of whom 119,000 were non-Mexicans. The largest single number – over 12,000 – came from Brazil.

U.S. officials say the "catch and release" policy applied to OTMs, due to a lack of detention facilities, makes it extremely unlikely aliens will be deported, so there is an incentive to travel to Mexico and attempt to cross the border.

Some 85 percent of OTMs who receive notice to attend a deportation hearing do not show.

Aguilar said that last year the Border Patrol detained 644 people from "countries of concern" and had stopped some 500 this year.

Lawmakers are concerned about terrorists slipping into the U.S. via Mexico from the Middle East and elsewhere.

Said Rep. Hal Rogers, R-Ky.: "We should be greatly concerned because OTMs do not register (with the authorities), their travel documents are suspect and they have no biometric records that can be checked to verify identity."

WASHINGTON – It was little more than a rumor during the darkest days of the Cold War.

Did agents of the Soviet Union conceal nuclear and biological weapons of mass destruction inside the U.S. and other western cities?

New evidence suggests they did – and that Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida terrorists network is determined to find them and use them with the help of bribed Russian spies or special forces soldiers who have maintained their secret locations for all these years.

According to a report by Gordon Thomas and David M. Dastych in the latest issue of the Polish news and opinion weekly Wprost, U.S. authorities searched in vain for the nuclear devices in New York City the day after the Sept. 11, 2001, al-Qaida attacks.

They had been tipped off about the possible existence of Russian "suitcase nukes" in the area by officials in Poland and the Czech Republic, according to the report.

No nuclear weapons were found Sept. 12, 2001, or thereafter. But, more recently, U.S. intelligence services have become concerned about efforts by terrorists to buy off former Soviet and current Russian agents with knowledge of the weapons.

The report also cites the work of Paul L. Williams, an investigative reporter, former FBI consultant and author of several books, including "Osama's Revenge: The Next 9/11," which claims al-Qaida sleeper agents have already stashed suitcase nukes in several major U.S. cities as well as Rappahannock, Va., where the U.S. government maintains an underground bunker as a command-and-control center for wartime or national emergency.

As WorldNetDaily reported earlier this week, Williams describes how al-Qaida has already purchased some post-Soviet mini-nukes and hired Russians to help them operate them. The report was first published in Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin, the premium, online intelligence newsletter published by WND's founder.

Williams predicted in his book a nuclear attack by al-Qaida would be launched before the end of 2005.

Several U.S. officials have alluded to the threat recently.

"It may be only a matter of time before al-Qaida or another group attempts to use chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear weapons," said Porter Goss, director of central intelligence before a Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

Robert S. Mueller III, director of the FBI, said: "I am also very concerned with a growing body of sensitive reporting that continues to show al-Qaida's clear intention to obtain and ultimately use some form of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear or high-energy explosives material in its attacks against America."

In addition, Thomas and Dastych report Britain's MI5 has identified 32 spies of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service operating under full diplomatic cover from their London embassy. The spies reportedly have links to deep-cover KGB agents who, during the Cold War, hid scores of genetically engineered biological warfare weapons in Britain's countryside. MI5 believes the Russian spies are still actively concealing the locations of the germ vials.

Meanwhile, KGB spymaster Alexander Kouzminov confirms his agents planted the vials. He, too, believes Russian agents are still involved in guarding them.

"Huge efforts and money was spent in our work," he explained. "It would be foolish to believe our people were stood down just because Russia took part in biological weapons talks in Geneva."

London Underground Exercises: Peter Power Responds

A couple of days ago, I reprinted an excerpt from an article written by Alex Jones and Paul Watson, and posted at prisonplanet.com.

This article highlighted and analyzed an interview (July7) on BBC Radio 5, the Drive show. The man interviewed, Peter Power, is a consultant for a firm, Visor Consultants. Visor does much security work on contract. Power stated that his, yes, mock terror drills were taking place at several of the same times and places as the actual bombings, and his people suddenly realized it as they were doing their mock work on the morning of the bombings.

The implications of Power's statements were dazzling, to say the least, and since then I have received queries about whether this radio interview really took place. I can understand people's shock and doubt, because the import of Power's remarks opens up a whole new direction in the research of the bombing attack.

As Jones and Watson pointed out in their article, the mock-drill- versus-real-event mirrored what happened in the US on 9/11, when mock air attacks were being conducted as the real thing took place.

First, I want to print an answer to my query I just received from BBC Radio Five:

So, in case there were any lingering doubts left in truly boggled minds, yes, the interview did of course take place. Jones/Watson picked up on it and reported it. Their piece has now been reprinted on a number of sites.

I decided to try to contact Peter Power. I sent an email to Visor consultants, and I received an answer. It comes from Mr. Power, although, as you'll see, it is a standard message that is being sent out by him to all the people who are flooding his email box with questions.

"Thank you for your message. Given the volume of emails about events on 7 July and a commonly expressed misguided belief that our exercise revealed prescient behaviour, or was somehow a conspiracy (noting that several websites interpreted our work that day in an inaccurate / naive / ignorant / hostile manner) it has been decided to issue a single email response as follows: It is confirmed that a short number of 'walk through' scenarios planned [sic] well in advance had commenced that morning for a private company in London (as part of a wider project that remains confidential) and that two scenarios related directly to terrorist bombs at the same time as the ones that actually detonated with such tragic results. One scenario in particular, was very similar to real time events.

"However, anyone with knowledge about such ongoing threats to our capital city will be aware that (a) the emergency services have already practiced several of their own exercises based on bombs in the underground system (also reported by the main news channels) and (b) a few months ago the BBC broadcast a similar documentary on the same theme, although with much worse consequences [??]. It is hardly surprising therefore, that we chose a feasible scenario - but the timing and script was nonetheless, a little disconcerting.

"In short, our exercise (which involved just a few people as crisis managers actually responding to a simulated series of activities involving, on paper, 1000 staff) quickly became the real thing and the players that morning responded very well indeed to the sudden reality of events.

"Beyond this no further comment will be made and based on the extraordinary number of messages from ill informed people, no replies will henceforth be given to anyone unable to demonstrate a bona fide reason for asking (e.g. accredited journalist / academic).

If you go back and read what Power said to host Allen in his BBC interview, Power was a lot more shocked himself at the time.

Obviously, Power, in his email, is trying to downplay the significance of the mock-versus-real events.

It's clear that the simultaneous staging of mock drills and the emergence of real events in the same times and places could confuse law enforcement, delay response, and also, as Jones/Watson point out, create a possible cover story for persons in the midst of planting real bombs ("I'm part of an exercise.").

I have received and seen several reports from people who were in and about in London as the bombings were taking place. One person, unnamed, states that he saw underground stations along one line shut down by many police BEFORE the bombings occurred. Another observer notes that additional bombs were reported by the press, early on, as DIFFUSED before they went off. And as I've written, the story of how many bombs there were and when they went off was changed several times in press reports---7-8 explosions were reduced to 4.

Bombs diffused before the explosions began (unless these were mock bombs---see how a cover story could work?)) implies foreknowledge of some kind on the part of law enforcement, and of course we have several press stories that indicate the Israeli embassy in London (but no one else?) was actually warned before the first explosion.

Visor consultants has probably received emails accusing them of being in on a bomb plot. Whereas, it would be easy for the ops managers of the real thing to USE the Visor mock drills as a distraction/cover for a short time that morning.

In any case, it will take a great deal more digging to sort out who was using whom.

Note that most of what is in this article has received NO follow-up from the mainstream press. If you were a reporter in London, wouldn't you, for example, jump in with both feet and talk to Peter Power in depth and find out exactly how his drills interacted with the real thing?

From Power's statements so far, it is not entirely clear to me whether he is denying that any of Visor's people were actually at bomb scenes on 7-7. He claims that the mock drills were largely a paper exercise. But the specifics are blurry. And then there is the question of whether we should believe him if he does clarify his points

Ten Step Method To Staging a Terrorist Attack

1) Hire a Crisis Management firm to set up an exercise that parallels the terrorist attack you are going to carry out. Have them run the exercise at the precise locations and at the very same time as the attack. If at any stage of the attack your Arabs get caught, tell the police it was part of an exercise.

2) Hire four Arabs and tell them they're taking part in an important exercise to help defend London from terrorist attacks. Strap them with rucksacks filled with deadly explosives. Tell the Arabs the rucksacks are dummy explosives and wouldn't harm a fly.

3) Tell four Arabs to meet up at London Underground and disperse, each getting on a different train. Make sure Arabs meet in a location where you can get a good mug shot of them all on CCTV which you can later endlessly repeat to drooling masses on television.

4) While four Arabs are in London, plant explosives in their houses in Leeds. Plant some explosives in one of their cars in Luton for the police to later discover. Remember that Qu'ran and flight manual in the hijackers' car? Ha ha, they fell for that one hook, line and sinker. No need to change tactics on this one.

5) Before the bombings take place, make sure you warn any of your buddies who are scheduled to be anywhere near where the bombs go off. If this gets leaked to the press, just deny it.

6) 4th Arab goes out partying in London night before and ends up getting out of bed late. No worries, the 9/11 'hijackers' did the same thing but that didn't cause us a big problem. 4th Arab catches bus to see if other Arabs are waiting for him. 4th Arab starts hearing about explosions in the London Underground. 4th Arab comes to the realization that this he is being set up and freaks out. 4th Arab starts fiddling in his rucksack. 4th Arab sets bomb off and is blown up.

If you hired any additional Arabs and they also got wind of the set up, make sure tere are GPS locators in the rucksacks so you can have police snipers ready to kill them before they can blow the whistle.

7) After the bombs go off, put out a story for over an hour that the explosions are a simple electrical fault. This gives you cover time to make sure the lazy bus Arab is dead and any other hired Arabs who reneged are also dead. Make sure any CCTV footage that doesn't support your official story is either seized or destroyed.

8) A few hours after the bombings, have one of your boys post an 'Al-Qaeda statement' claiming responsibility. Don't worry about the whole 'misreferencing the Qu'ran' thing, these idiots don't have the attention spans to figure it out.

9) After you have made sure that all the Arabs are dead and you are managing the story accordingly, wait for four days until the police piece together the story and find the explosives you planted in Leeds and in the car in Luton. Remember that Qu'ran and flight manual in the hijackers' car? Ha ha, they fell for that one hook, line and sinker. No need to change tactics this time either. The time delay will convince the gullable public that a real investigation is taking place. Create a background of the hired Arabs being militant Muslims. The drooling masses, as was the case with the '9/11 hijackers,' will ignore stories of neighbours saying they were the quiet, educated types who liked children and playing sports.

BBC excerpt: One local resident described him as "a nice lad".

"He liked to play football, he liked to play cricket. I'm shocked."

Another resident said he was just a "normal kid" who played basketball and kicked a ball around.

10) Sit back and enjoy as Blair and his minions grandstand in front of television cameras about staying the course in the war on terror. The pay raise, extra agency funding, and power to strip more freedoms and liberties made the ten easy steps to staging a terrorist attack a worthwhile venture. The dozens of dead people were necessary collateral damage. This is a dirty war, we need to be less moral than the terrorists to defeat them.

And that's how the government staged the bombings in ten easy steps.

Granted, you can interchange different pieces of the puzzle. The bombers could be real terrorists that knew exactly what they were doing. All you would need to do is control the 'mastermind' behind the attack and make sure his boys carried out the job in the way you wanted. Voila.

"If these allegations are true this rises above politics and is about our national security," said Senate Minority leader Harry Reid.

He said he hoped President Bush would follow through on a pledge to sack anyone involved in leaking the agent's name.

The president himself did not respond to a question about Mr Rove at a press briefing on Tuesday.

But White House spokesman Scott McClellan confirmed Mr Bush still had faith in Mr Rove, breaking his silence after two days of pointed questioning on the affair.

"Any individual who works here at the White House has the president's confidence," Mr McClellan told reporters.

"They wouldn't be working here if they didn't have the president's confidence."

But he refused to discuss the matter in detail.

"I don't want to do anything to jeopardise the investigation. And just because I'm not commenting on a continuing investigation that doesn't mean you should read anything into it beyond that."

Prosecutors are investigating how the identity of Ms Plame was revealed in the media in 2003.

Deliberate exposure of a covert agent is a criminal offence in the US.

Although Ms Plame's name was leaked in a different newspaper, Mr Cooper and fellow journalist Judith Miller of the New York Times were both ordered to testify about their sources in the case.

Mr Cooper later agreed after Mr Rove apparently said he could do so.

But Ms Miller maintained her refusal - arguing that it was her duty as a journalist to protect her sources - and was jailed.

The affair has led to a tense stand-off between the government and the media over the right of journalists to keep contacts confidential.

Correspondents say that, while it is up to prosecutors to find out whether a crime has been committed, the government's credibility is now at stake because of previous denials by Mr Rove.

Ms Plame's husband, former US ambassador Joseph Wilson, has alleged that his wife's identity was made public in an attempt to discredit him after he challenged the government's arguments for going to war in Iraq.

Mr Wilson said he travelled to Niger to investigate a claim that Iraq had tried to buy nuclear material there but found no evidence to prove it.

Mr Luskin said Mr Rove's e-mail to Mr Cooper said that Ms Plame had authorised the trip.

Its purpose was to discourage Time magazine from publishing false allegations that Vice-President Dick Cheney was behind the trip, not to deliberately expose Ms Plame, he added.

The Niger claim was used by President Bush as one of the reasons for invading Iraq.

Gold represents emotional ahavas Hashem, whereas silver represents intellectual ahavas Hashem (see Tanya ch.44). Also, silver represents the tzaddik, whereas gold represents the one who returns in tshuva.

Regarding Yosef and Yehuda, it is explained in Chassidus that Yosef is the level of limud Torah and Yehuda is the level of maaseh haMitzvos and that ultimately the level of Yehuda -- maasah haMitzvos -- will ultimately be superior.

Preparations are being made on both sides of the Kisufim Crossing - the entrance to Gush Katif - to protest the closure that was slammed down this morning on Jewish Gaza.

Since the closure, hundreds of cars have lined up in single file outside Gush Katif entrance, and policemen are turning back all those who do not have proof of residence in Gush Katif. Some of the turned-back cars left the area, but others remained, and the area is crowded and tense.

Tuvia, one of those stuck at the crossing, told Arutz-7, "This is a tremendous opportunity for a major protest. Some people are already starting to turn back, but if everyone remains and just stands outside his car, this could turn into a major statement of public protest."

Sources in Gush Katif said that plans are underway for a major protest to begin shortly.

Among the vehicles not allowed to enter were three tour buses, bringing mainly first-time visitors to Gush Katif. The passengers disembarked and held an impromptu protest demonstration at the site. "The police have brought water-trucks to the scene," said Lioz, one of the passenger/protestors, "but they haven't used them. They're probably just trying to intimidate us."

Lioz's wife and another woman were the only two passengers who were actually able to make it into Gush Katif. When the protest began, they began walking towards the crossing, and then, to their great astonishment, passed through with no problem. They then caught a ride with a resident to N'vei Dekalim. Startled at finding themselves inside the closed zone, one of them has decided to stay for at least today, while the other decided to return to her husband and three little children stuck on the other side of the closure.

Several students from a nearby yeshiva also arrived at Kisufim when they learned of the plans to close the Gush.

Among those who were able enter Gush Katif in the hours preceding this morning's closure were 18 students from nearby Yeshivat Sderot, as well as two teachers and their families. They will be living and studying in the ulpanah (girls' high school) of N'vei Dekalim.

Eran Sternberg, spokesman for Gush Katif, estimated that the population of Gush Katif has swelled by some 1,000 people over the past months and weeks. "But that's not enough," he said. "It's too bad that people weren't coming here in larger streams over the past few weeks."

Responding to Prime Minister Sharon's closure of Gush Katif, Gaza Coast Regional Council Mayor Avner Shimoni said, "This is his way of distracting attention from the terrorist attacks of yesterday... It's unheard of in a democracy for a government to fight against its citizens and prevent us from waging our struggle in this manner."

A call was issued last night from the community of Kfar Darom calling on residents not to cooperate with the soldiers at the checkpoints. "Don't identify yourselves!" blares the orange notice distributed to residents throughout the Gush Katif area. "For generations, Jews have dreamt of returning to Zion, but the ways were closed. Now we have merited to return home - and they want to again close us off?? We, residents of Gush Katif, will be asked to show identification papers at the crossings - but we call on you: Don't do it! Don't cooperate with the expulsion authorities! Don't help them hurt us! Every Jew has the right to travel freely in his Land, and we will demand this right. Remember, the minutes or hours of inconvenience at the checkpoint are important to help us save our wonder piece of this land. We hereby declare: No Checkpoint at Kisufim!"

Mayor Shimoni said that he agrees with the call, "and I assume that many will in fact adhere to it."

Huge Traffic Jam towards Gush Katif

(IsraelNN.com) Hundreds of cars are backed up about for kilometers (2.5 miles) from the entrance to Gush Katif at this hour. Police are using force in an effort to clear the entrance of vehicles.

Police have prevented non-residents from entering, and many residents refuse to show their identification cards. One woman said she has been living in Ne've Dekalim for 20 years and "this is the first time I had to show an identity card in order to go home." She said police directed her through a field so she could get home.
