U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's visit
to Beirut yesterday ended in a stalemate after Lebanese leaders rejected her
insistence that before any cease-fire, Hezbollah must release two adbucted
Israeli soldiers and pull back from the border.
Rice did not back the immediate end to hostilities
demanded by Prime Minister Fuad Siniora. Shi'ite Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri,
who is close to Hezbollah and Syria, rejected Rice's proposal to deploy the
Lebanese army on the border backed by an international force. He insisted that a
cease-fire must precede talks over Hezbollah's status in south Lebanon.
Rice made a surprise visit to Beirut in a bid to bring an end to the warfare
between Israel and Hezbollah that began two weeks ago. Siniora told her that
Israel's bombardment was taking his country "backward 50 years."

the story of the Jewish people. Meet The Covenant cast and crew, representatives
of the Christian Zionist ministry
The acclaimed biblical musical The Covenant, produced
by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem, is currently in the midst of a
21-city summer tour of Europe. The six weeks of performances began on June 23 in
Cordoba, Spain and will continue until the finale in Leipzig, Germany on July
Written and directed by Robert and Elizabeth Muren, The Covenant is an
original dramatic presentation recounting the miraculous story of the People of
Israel, spanning from the calling of Abraham until the establishment of the
modern State. The exceptional cast and crew are drawn from more than twelve
As with all of our performances across Europe, our show in Bielifeld Tuesday
night was sold out. While the majority of our audience is comprised of
Evangelical Christians, members of the general public also come out to see The
Covenant, along with members of the Jewish communities.
Jews in Belfast, Liverpool, Worthing, Berlin, Hannover, Darmstadt, and again in
Bielefeld have entered the theatres skeptically and have left without exception,
with tears streaming down their faces.
Letters written by audience members to the Christian Embassy, expressing
their appreciation and gratitude are already beginning to arrive. Among those is
a letter from a Holocaust survivor in Hannover who was completely overcome with
emotion, and says she continues to weep days after seeing the show.
Initially it was difficult for those of us who live in Israel to find
ourselves in Europe when the present conflict broke out. We wanted to change our
tickets and get back to the Land as quickly as possible.
But then we came to realize the importance and significance of our present task,
and how we are contributing positively to change attitudes in Europe towards
Israel. Thousands of people have come to The Covenant performance simply to say,
“Israel, we are standing with you, you are not alone, we
are praying for you!”
Mt:23:37: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Our company choreographer, Chloe Osborne, who works full time in our Jerusalem
office, agrees. “I believe that the impact we are making will have long term
effects in the hearts and minds of people,” she said. “We came to Europe at
just the right time.”
Nevertheless, the project has its challenges. Members of the volunteer cast
are expected to serve along side the crew in building and tearing down the set
nightly. In addition to dancing, Chloe is one of the lead singers in the
production, but also looks after the eight cases of props that travel with the
show. She also assists me with administrative aspects of managing the 31 member
cast and crew.
The greatest challenge for Emil Brunell, age 19 from Finland, is doing the
Holocaust scenes night after night. “It requires a lot of emotion, and when
you are so tired from the tour, it’s hard to find the strength for it. Still,
we have the responsibility to do it from our hearts and make it real.”
Bears Gilde, a 22 year old Norwegian student, gave up his summer holidays and
opportunity to earn income to be a part of the show. “In many ways, Europe is
spiritually washed up. The production is challenging people to turn back to God
and His Word; I’m glad to be a part of that," he explains.
different god and No WORD the Only begotten SON,
Performing in Paris on the evening of the World Cup final game between France
and Italy has been the most memorable experience for Bears, who constantly
checked the score between his costume and scene changes.
“It was amazing to see people lined up outside the theatre to see our show
on the same evening of the game,” he said. The show ended just in time for
members of the cast to dash out and watch the final minutes of the game with
Parisians in a street café just next to the theatre. “That’s a moment
I’ll never forget,” said Gilde.
Among the cast are eight children, ages ranging from 6 months to 12 years.
Norwegian brothers Ivar and Brunjar also toured with The Covenant last summer,
but don’t seem to mind giving up their summer holidays at all.
“Being in The Covenant is more fun,” says Ivar. Ivar plays the part of
young King David, and sites that as his favorite scene in the show. I asked his
older brother Brunjar what he would like to say to the Jewish people at this
time, and he replied, “Israel, I will not forget you.”July 24, 2006

Pundits on the right and left argue that the war in Lebanon and fighting with

The same is bound to happen if Israel withdraws unilaterally from the West
Bank without cast-iron security arrangements,
But Olmert remains unmoved. Close aides say he remains determined to pull out
of the West Bank and set Israel’s permanent borders by the end of his current
term in 2010. One of the main reasons is demographic — to ensure a democratic
Israeli state with a clear Jewish majority.

The question is how to do it.
After the Lebanon and Gaza experiences — sustained rocket attacks on Israel
in the wake of unilateral pullouts — will Olmert still want to adopt last
summer’s Gaza model of withdrawal without agreement, or will he seek a
different formula, such as bilateral arrangements with moderate Palestinian
leaders or the introduction of
international forces to keep the peace after Israel pulls back?
One of the most influential backers of the unilateral idea was journalist Ari
Shavit of Ha’aretz, whose 2005 book, “Dividing the Land,” attempted to
explain the rationale of the idea. But now Shavit has become one of
unilateralism’s most outspoken critics.
Shavit’s change of heart reflects widespread disillusionment in Israel with
the unilateral approach. In mid-July, a day after the outbreak of hostilities in
the North, Shavit published an article entitled “The End of the Third Way,”
urging the government to come up with a new political strategy.
Sanhedrin Talmudic reign of Terror
In the article, Shavit argues that Israel has gone through three predominant
policy phases since the 1967 Six-Day War, each undermined by an eruption of Arab
violence. Initially, Shavit says, Israelis believed the Palestinian conflict
could be maintained by occupation, then through a peace deal, and after that
through unilateral separation.
But the occupation thesis was discredited by the first intifada in the late
1980s and early 1990s; the peace process it generated exploded with the second
intifada in 2000; and unilateralism has crashed against the violence in Gaza and
Lebanon, which Shavit calls the “third intifada.”

He concludes that “Israel is now desperately in need of a new diplomatic
idea, a new strategic idea, a fourth way.”
the fourth beast
A number of ideas are coming to the fore:
• An international force to keep the peace and oversee the transition to
Palestinian statehood after Israeli withdrawal.
Surrounding ITSREALLY HELL
The endgame in Lebanon envisages a multinational force to keep the peace and
help the Lebanese government deploy forces in the South and disarm Hezbollah. If
that happens and proves successful, analysts say the model could be extended to
the West Bank and Gaza.
There it could take the form of an international mandate responsible for the
transition to Palestinian statehood. Its main tasks would be to police the
cease-fire, help create a single Palestinian armed force and build democratic
The main advantage is that it could provide the stability Israel and the
Palestinians have been unable to achieve. The main disadvantage is that an
international force could become a target of Palestinian terrorism.
The idea of an international transitional mandate has been proposed before by
former Israeli Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben-Ami and former U.S. Ambassador to
Israel Martin Indyk.
• The establishment of a Palestinian mini-state with temporary borders
through direct negotiations under American aegis between Israel and Palestinian
Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
The Americans would need to give both sides strong guarantees: To Israel that
the Palestinian refugee problem will be resolved in the emerging Palestinian
state, and to the Palestinians that the final border will closely approximate
the pre-1967 boundary.
and that "ain't gonna happen"
The main advantage of this approach is that it would be easier to achieve
than a full peace deal. The main disadvantages are that the Palestinians have
opposed the idea because they fear temporary borders would become permanent; the
Israelis suspect that Abbas, even if he signed an agreement, would not be able
The Israeli Foreign Ministry has set up a team to refine this approach.
• Going back to the “Clinton parameters” of December 2000 for a final
peace deal. Left-wingers argue that if the sides are able to begin negotiations
on a mini-state they might as well aim for a full peace deal and a full-fledged
Palestinian state. Terrorist organizations would be dismantled, the Palestinian
state would be demilitarized and border arrangements would be made to prevent
The trouble is that this is precisely the formula that failed so dramatically
at Camp David six years ago, and the situation has deteriorated markedly since
Olso I, Rabin assassinated by Chabad Lubavitch and the
daughter of Israel was not given up for peace. Daniel 11
• Modified unilateralism. Israel’s West Bank settlements would be
dismantled but the army would remain to prevent Kassam rocket fire and other
The main advantage is that Palestinian terrorists wouldn’t be able to arm
and act as freely as they would if the army pulls out. The main disadvantage is
that Israeli occupation would continue, creating points of friction with
Palestinians and costing Israel international goodwill.
Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter, a former head of the Shin Bet
security service, is the main proponent of this approach.
• A Palestinian arrangement in the context of a major regional shake-up.
This would entail stability in Lebanon under an international umbrella, good
neighborly relations between Israel and Lebanon, and possibly even detachment of
Syria from the Iranian axis.
This would depend on the degree to which Israel crushes
Hezbollah’s military power in the current conflict.
The real Road Map to Hell plan......................and
Jesus will disrupt their shem sham abruptly
Hezbollah’s defeat would reverberate in the Palestinian territories and
could lead to a strategic reassessment by Hamas leaders, especially if the Syria-Iran
axis also collapses.
The main advantage is that conditions could be created for a final,
comprehensive resolution of the Israeli-Arab conflict. The disadvantage is that
so far, at least, there is little sign that this scenario is realistic.
It’s clear that Olmert will have to adapt to the new post-war reality —
but it’s still too early to gauge which “fourth way,” if any, he’s

Attached are three documents that articulate the position of the Sanhedrin's
representatives on subjects that arose on the agenda of the legislature. These
representatives comprise the Leadership Council and [the Sanhedrin's] highest
institution. The first subject: Injury
to the civilian population of enemy state,
which was legislated on the 4th of Iyyar and amended on the 25 of Sivan.
The other subjects: Persecution of
Rabbinical authorities and [Secularizing
the Jewish state through] granting of citizenship to foreign workers
was legislated on the 24 of Sivan 5766 (20.6.06).
Question concerning injury to the civil population of
The Sanhedrin discusses the question if its
permissible to [respond to an attack that may] injure the civilian population of
an enemy state on account of weapons being fired from within or near civilian
population centers. (The opinion of the Sanhedrin's representatives was
delivered mostly on Soldier's Memorial Day, 4th Iyyar, 5766).
[As it is known,] the Sanhedrin is the
only authorized national institution to deal with the legal aspects of warfare
and to give policy directives to the State concerning warfare.
Enacting legislation concerning warfare always has been a distinguishing feature
of the Sanhedrin (1).
The laws of warfare regarding a war by executive decree and the laws regarding a
defensive war "defending Israel in the time of trouble" are governed
by the principle "until it submits". [This in turn is derived from the
halachos of concerning the siege of a city, that is,] until the surrender
of the 'city', which means either
banishment of the enemy or acceptance of terms --
and only after peace negotiations, establishment of peaceful borders, a fiscal
system of taxes, as we learn from Joshua ben Nun "Obligatory
Warfare", Maimonides, Mishne Torah, Laws of Kings 6
[In general Jewish law does not apply to non-Jews, in these cases Jews are
required to abide by civil law and international treaties. International
treaties clearly show] the Hamas government and its terrorist offshoots, as
well as the population that directly supports them are an enemy in every
respect, according to to all interpretations of international law.(2)
See Apostate Amaraka who has through their
Washington DC representatives, already accepted this Beast via HJR 104, PL
It is the government's duty to overpower the enemy
as quickly as possible because avoiding casualties will only increase the
strategic threat from day to day. The enemy
receives support from many states and international organizations that adopt its
position and machinations, and awaken political powers based within the state
that do not recognize the State of Israel as a legitimate state.
From bitter experience these [subversive] powers, in the Land of Israel and in
the world, will constrain the State of Israel causing it to compromise in
existential issues that could cause its destruction, G-d (Dragon)
forbid. Accordingly there is no choice but
to launch an immediate offensive against the leaders of the Palestinian
Authority, its military leaders, organizations and institutions, causing
economic damage and overwhelming the enemy.
In the kind of warfare required here, limiting military response or deterring
the IDF from a regional campaign is a reaction decidedly inappropriate and not
reasonable. On the contrary, a feeble military doctrine - to shoot at empty
fields, moderation in countering the centers of terror, without the will to
extirpate the capacity of the terrorists to launch attacks, only strengthens a
hostile desire to launch bombs deep inside Israeli territory. This
administration will carry the responsibly for the lives of the injured people
and their damaged property if it becomes apparent that they adopted a weak
defense policy that is completely unreasonable when they had the opportunity to
- Unintentional injury to the adjacent
population due to military operations against the launching of missiles
[from within civilian population centers] by the enemy is unavoidable.
The enemy cynically exploits the Jewish recoiling from the shedding of
innocent blood in order to moderate military actions by the State of Israel.
Accordingly they places firearms and missile launchers in areas the
adjoining to and within civilian population centers in order to to achieve
immense propaganda gains, by parading before the media
injuries to children and families that were hurt, including even
those who were not hurt, or were hurt maliciously by the enemy itself, for
example the affair of the child Muhammad al-Dura.
- According to international norms in the laws
of warfare, which are customary in the courts of "the nations",
one does not shrink from unintentional injuries to the civilian population,
but strives to maintain a balance between the possibility of injury to
civilians and a high probability of injuring actual enemy combatants.
- A civilian population [that allows such
actions] becomes an inseparable part of the enemy,(Collective
PURIM, see Dinah at Shechem) not only do they take no steps to
thwart gunfire and launching of missiles, but rather they facilitate the
actions of the enemy combatants. Accordingly
if unintended injuries occur, they have no legal right to complain, except
Jn:8:44: Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
4.The civilian population enlists citizens from
within itself at its own instigation, even children and women, in order to
execute attacks of indiscriminate homicide bombings within the Jewish
population. Accordingly arbitrarily distinguishing between those who are commit
crimes against humanity and those who merely assist them is misplaced. The
dispassionate use of human life, and its cheapening in the eyes of the enemy,
are unacceptable by all the company of mankind, and Israel, even if it will
stumble G-d forbid, would not practice such hostile barbarism that constitutes a
threat to the entire civilized world.
Yitzhak Ginsburg is more determined. He knows that in the near future the
Land of Israel is about to expand. He writes, "It is our duty to force
all mankind to accept the
seven Noahide laws, and if not—they
will be killed." (Ma'ariv,
5.The IDF will not be able to defeat the enemy
under the threat of the state's legal experts who falsely
interpret the "fourth Geneva convention" in
a way that does not apply de jure in Israel; even
according to the understanding of the current legal advisers, there is nothing
but unflagging attempts to enforce their own interpretation with the assistance
of the supreme court.
6.The Gaza Strip ceased to be 'occupied
territory' even according to those that view the six day war as a war of
aggression, therefore any arguments claiming the rights of a 'civilian
population under occupation' cease to apply.
7.It is of course understood that the Sanhedrin
views the Gaza Strip as an inseparably part of the Land of Israel, and the only
illegal occupation of that land is the Arab conquest of it.

The petition, filed Tuesday, argues that Israel has effectively been at war
since July 12.
"The very act of declaring war has many implications, both practical and
constitutional," the petition said. "For instance, certain articles of
the Property Tax and Compensation Fund Law go into effect. A declaration of war
also enables [people] to file claims for war damages."

They will not."

An Israel Air Force strike destroyed
a base run by a UN observer force in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, killing four
UN observers, a UN spokesperson said.
A bomb directly impacted the building and shelter of an Indian patrol base from
the observer force in the town of Khiyam near the eastern end of the border with
Israel, said Milos Struger, spokesman for the U.N. peacekeeping force in Lebanon
known as UNIFIL.
"There are casualties among the observers. UNIFIL immediately despatched a
rescue and medical team and they're currently on the location but unable to
clear the rubble," Struger told The Associated Press late Tuesday.

IAF resumes strikes on Beirut
A series of at least four heavy blasts were heard in Beirut on Tuesday
afternoon, the first Israel Air Force strikes in the city in nearly two days. A
gray cloud billowed up from the capital's southern district, a Hezbollah
stronghold that has been heavily bombarded.
Nearly daily pounding halted during U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's
visit to Beirut on Monday. The afternoon strikes were the first in the city
since Sunday evening.
The quick succession of blasts set off car alarms in central Beirut, kilometers
(miles) from the southern neighborhood known as Dahiyah, and sirens were heard.
More, smaller explosions followed, then came a fifth powerful blast. There were
no immediate reports of casualties.
